This was a beautiful harvest for you . I got excited this morning by just harvesting my broad beans , so I can imagine how you felt harvesting your veggies . You are very inspiring . I've learned a lot since I started watching your channel, sir . Gardening is also therapeutic . The only frustration is when the snails do harm 😅 . Thank you Mr Molale and happy Gardening!🥳
Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your excitement about harvesting your broad beans! It’s such a rewarding feeling, isn’t it? 😊 I’m really glad to hear that you have found inspiration and value from my channel - that means a lot to me! And yes, gardening truly is therapeutic, though those snails can definitely be frustrating! 😅 I’ve had my fair share of battles with them too. But we learn and grow through these challenges. Happy gardening to you too!
Thank you so much for giving the months that you have planted the veggies and the harvesting of it ...this is a really great harvest it is fat and shinny veggies stay blessed sir.
Thank you so much for subscribing! That's awesome that you have started pot planting! It's a great way to begin your gardening journey. I am wishing you all of the best with your journey and I am looking forward to share my journey! Happy gardening! 🌿😊
Thank you so much! 😊 A "what to plant when” guide sounds like a fantastic idea-I actually do a monthly planting edition where I share what I'm sowing and planting each month to keep the garden productive year-round. I’ll definitely consider making a dedicated guide with seasonal planting tips to make it easier to follow along. Thanks for the suggestion, and happy planting! 🌱
Hi Kristel! Thank you so much for sharing your insights and for the kind words! I'm really glad you found the video truthful, especially when it comes to setting realistic expectations for potato yields. You're spot on about rotating potatoes to avoid pests and diseases. Growing in containers is a fantastic alternative, especially for pest control and ease of harvesting. Those big black containers sound like a great solution! Plus, reusing the soil through hot composting afterward is an excellent sustainable practice. I hear you on the challenges of growing cabbage in warmer climates. Mousebirds can be relentless! Wishing you a productive and blessed growing season as well. Thanks again for sharing your tips-they are sure to benefit many fellow gardeners! 🌱
Hi Mabore! it is so great to hear from you! Thank you so much, yes I was very happy with the the beetroot! Thank you so much for watching and the nice feedback! Much appreciated!
Yet again an amazing video. Thank you for the truthful representation of growing potatoes. Many content creators shows a potato harvest that gives the illusion that you can harvest a bag full of potatoes from one plant. There are many pictures of a plant with at least 15 to 20 potatoes on it or harvested from the plant. In truth if you are successful your plant will yield around 5 or maybe 6 large potatoes and a few small ones. This is important to know when you do crop planning. Another important fact to know is that these plants are susceptibility to many pest and soil born diseases. This means you should move your next production to another place in your garden if you grow your potatoes directly in the garden. ( Are you familiar with the great Irish famine that was caused by potato blight?) It has become increasingly popular to grow potatoes in large containers to avoid many problems related to growing potatoes. I have bought big black plastic containers for 80 Rand each at Westpack and grow my potatoes in them. This makes them easy to harvest. I just tip the container on its side to harvest. This ensure that the soil is easily replaceable. ( I hot compost the soil with other plant material afterwards, your composting bin will do the trick) I have previously lived in Bredasdorp and know that the Cape has a much cooler climate than Pretoria. This makes growing cabbage difficult since we have very warm winter days and to top it I have mousebirds. They obliterate them. Have a blessed growing season ❤

Hi there! Thank you so much! Sorry to hear about your beetroot not germinating. Sometimes they can be a bit tricky. It might be worth checking the soil temperature and moisture level, as beets prefer cooler, consistent conditions to sprout. You could also try soaking the seeds in water for a few hours before planting to encourage germination. Don’t be discouraged - gardening is all about learning and trying again! Let me know how it goes next time. 😊
Thank you! 😊 For storing and preserving, the beetroot and carrots i store in the fridge if we will be using them soon, but for longer storage we ferment them. The potatoes I cure them for a couple of weeks in a cool, dark place, which helps toughen their skins for storage. After curing, I keep them in a cool, dark spot with good ventilation. Will probable make a video about this in the near future. Thank you so much for watching!
Fulfilling moment of harvesting and eating own grown food🎉
