9:57 Those hand-waving statements terrify me. "You'll be fine" from a nurse, makes my mind think, "You have a 20% chance of living"
My brother was given nitrous oxide when he got his wisdom teeth removed, and was still incredibly loopy when mom brought him home. She videotaped his antics for pretty much the rest of the afternoon. 😆
He got only nitrous oxide? How many wisdom teeth did he have?
I had full on anesthesia when I had all 4 of mine removed at once.
Yeah, as a kid, my dad took me to a normal dentist and NOT a dentist that specialized with kids. He did NOT numb me or anything, just straight went to drilling on the four cavities I had, and eventually gave up and tossed me out of the office cause I wouldn't stop screaming and crying. When my mom found out what happened, she was super mad at my dad and the dentist, and took me to a specialist that properly numbed me with the gas. But it never left me, and to this day I still hate and struggle with the dentist. It doesn't help I have a low tolerance for pain in general and sensitive teeth (so even cold or hot air/water causes pain). -_-
That’s a lawsuit
My grandfather was a dentist for most of his adult life and my mother was his dental assistant. So yeah, dentistry was always an unavoidable shadow looming over my childhood. Also yeah, wisdom teeth are absolute fucking misery. So glad to have those gone. I was most definitely unconscious for that operation. They put the mask on me, said count backward from 100, and I think i made it to 91 before fading into blackness and then I woke up. 10/10 would take nitrous again.
8:40-8:50 Oooohhhh, that’s why he’s called Nitrous Oxide in Crash Team Racing.
4:48 guys.😁
Thanks Caleb
Thanks Caleb
Thanks Caleb
Omg, i freaking knew it!!🤣🤣🤣
Litterally, AS soon as i saw it.👏😅
@@willywiksaas3434 knew what and saw what willy😂
Yeah I've had so many dental procedures done at this point that just being in a dentist office sends my already higher than average anxiety levels sky-high. And I know it's stupid, I know I've gotten better about taking care of my teeth, and I know that the last several times I've gone it's been fine, but no, every time I have an appointment I manage to convince myself that this is the day they give me a root canal or something
Fear is not a rational emotion
had a root canal when I was young, dreaded needles, took half a Valium and was a ragdoll by the time I got to the dentist's office
Having had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed at once, this video felt relatable to a degree.
Thankfully though, I was fully anesthetized throughout the entire procedure. The worst part was when the injection wore off, and I got a massive headache afterwards which combined with my mouth aching.
Thank goodness for the pain mess afterwards (no I don't condone abusing them, but you definitely need them for a bit after this kind of procedure).
Oh, and I found out a few years later my oral surgeon had his licensed revoked after several of his patients came down with a heart infection because his tools weren't properly sanitized.
When I went to have my wisdom tooth removed (only one sprouted and was throbbing) a couple of years ago, the oral surgeon's place of business was one of those houses renovated into a office place. We went in and met a nice nurse who took my x-rays and promised to be back with them and the doctor. 30 minutes pass. Eventually, the surgeon came, and he had a thick accent - I can't really pinpoint it, but it sounded Eastern-European/Southern-Asian. He diagnosed me with an impacted third molar then got me ready for surgery, while my mom left for Starbucks (in her generation, when you had one bad molar, they took out both on that side, not sure if that still happens). Like Nic, I was awake during the procedure, but I handled it without any nervousness. I even saw the tooth immediately after they took it out and took it home with me, for some reason. It was a very surreal experience.
Aside from a couple of cavity fillings and cleanings, I never really went to the dentist, as I have naturally straight teeth.
Dammit! You got your tooth?! I didn't think to ask for mine until after I got home! And by then, it was too late. I wanted to keep that wisdom tooth for posterity!
About the one bad molar thing, for me, both of my bottom teeth were impacted but I still got all removed and I was actually never told why.
@@47ratsinahoodie The top ones get removed also because if you bit down, the top wisdom teeth would bite into your gums.
@@RYMAN1321 Any idea why someone might have crowding even after getting wisdom teeth removed (especially when none had erupted)?
Why did I watch this? Now I'm scared to go to the dentist for MY wisdom teeth removal! I mean that is gotta be painful as s@#%. Needle in you mouth?! SAWING into your teeth?! I don't think I want to go to the dentist ever again after this.
How are you now?
You'll be okay though. I myself got all 4 removed, as I got general anesthesia. Worst part was the pain afterwards, but it's manageable. It can vary by person though.
I keep going back to the screeching body scene
I mean when I went to the doctor to take out a tooth They used this kinda big Needle like a bottle of water to make my mouth numb and they did the smartest thing. Told me to Close my eyes and I realised that it was a needle when I oppened my eyes early and saw them removing the needle from my mouth but I really didn't feel anything.
For every tooth extraction I've had (wisdom teeth and 2 bad teeth) I never needed the lortabs that they gave me. I was completely fine afterwards pain wise. I guess I was one of the lucky ones
my teeth are so close together that some of my Adult teeth couldn't come out.
the dentist had to remove them and they gave me removable braces that did not fit in my mouth properly and would be difficult to speak and eat with them on. so i stop wearing them.
There also It's Alex Clark you guys should react to. He has amazing animation videos like Jaiden and James.
When I got my wisdom teeth out, they knocked me the fuck out. I don't know what kind of dentist would just... Not.
I was so terrified for my wisdom teeth removal that I'd have the same experience as Jaiden but fortunately, I got knocked out by IV but holy fuck. When I woke up, it was so hard to move. I tried to prop myself up on my elbows and it felt like my body was betraying me. I think that's the closest I'll ever get or ever want to get to knowing how people with sleep paralysis go through.
Same here.
I had all 4 removed, and was fully under anesthesia. The pain didn't start kicking in until around a few hours (combined with a throbbing headache) later when I had to take a pain pill. I then slept for a full 3 hours afterwards as well. The whole week I had to only eat soft foods as well.
I don't mind the dentist. I just have a severe gag reflex. They do anything back there, I have to go into a zen state just to try and devert my focus from them sticking tools way in the back of my mouth and I start gagging. As odd as this sounds, I look forward to all my molars getting replace with crowns. That way, they won't have to do anything else back there anymore.
they took all 4 of my wisoms out and I'm such a madman i didn't take ANY painpills
For my braces I had for 2-3 years I first was going to genital dental and after year 2 I think my grandma recommended a local orthodontist Dr. Thorten, they said genital dental had been doing it wrong.
Which they were right, which makes me wonder how much shorter I would of needed braces if I had just gone there from the start
"They stick it in your cheek" "Fully sedated"
I am having quite THE culture shock rn.
Like tf is this, my top canines never decided to even think to come down so when I was 13 I had to undergo a mildly "freaky" procedure to get them down (that's the reaction I usually get from people), and anything that might affect your consciousness sounds ridiculous to even think of as an option. Like no, that doesn't happen here, like, at all.
Step 1: Pull out baby fangs. (put a bit of a sedating paste on gums, wait 10mins, stab gums with needle, now you can't feel your mouth and maybe the tip of your nose. Then pull out fangs with pliers with a tube inside your mouth to suck out blood and saliva while you try not to turn blind from the light on top of you. Obviously you get to see everything, including bloody tools, tooth and the blood going in the tube.)
Step 2: Braces. Now undergo surgery to get to the big fangs: same sedating process as before, then stick a button with a cable attached to it to the fangs (to get to them the gums had to be cut and lifted since they were so high up). Put 5 stitches in between your teeth (gums, front to back) to get everything together while you panic cause the anaesthetic's running out and you're starting to feel everything, now pull on the fang cables and tie them to the braces. Congrats you're done, you won't go to school next day but will be coming back not only a week later for the stitches but also when one of the buttons comes off (happened once to me)
Step 3: Go back every month to get the cable pulled tighter as well as the braces themselves (~80€ per visit), obviously no anaesthetic since the pain is near to nothing and you get used to it. The cable might stab the insides of your cheeks and you may only realise it a few days later, but you just gotta wait until your next visit for as long as you can ignore it.
I finally got my fangs on place a few months ago (I'm 15 now .-.), and the risky thing about this is that if your canines don't wanna cooperate, you can spend a year on this only to end up getting a surgery to extract them and put implants later. I was lucky so that didn't happen but I still gotta fix my bite now. Thankfully that's not painful in the slightest but I'm still jealous that you guys get to be unconscious while getting your wisdom tooth pulled out. I know people who have gotten them out and the anaesthetics used were local (same as me), both in private and public services. (This is in Spain btw)
I was put under when I had my wisdom teeth taken out before they came out of the gums. It was out at the hospital I was put under, but I was aware of what was happening, but there was no pain or feeling what was going on. I was around 14 or 15 I believe when it happened.
Were you supposed to be aware? That would be terrifying if you had that anesthesia awareness happen.
That's quite unusual though that you had it done at the hospital though, as I have heard many occasions of that. Hope you ended up being okay though.
@@RYMAN1321 Like I said there was no pain or feeling, I just happened to be awake.
I told the dentist straight up that I would rather keep my wisdom teeth(despite the sheer levels of pain and hell I was in and going through; I had this pain for over 2 months straight and was ingesting painkillers like they were candy just to keep the pain under control)than to get them extracted while awake!! One IV drip and nap later, I was done! Since then, I think I've developed a sort of pain tolerance!
How was your recovery after?
Mine lasted a full week, as I was in constant pain and had to pop a pain killer every 4 hours, and could only eat soft foods. I slept a lot that week as well. I had all 4 out though.
Being autistic I’m more sensitive than others so when they scrape or do anything like that, it’s actually painful for me. I’ve never had a cavity or my wisdom teeth out, but I’ve had braces three times.
How long did you have braces for?
I too had them from November 2006 to November 2009, and before that I had a Pallet Expander for six months.
Oh, and I had to get my wisdom teeth (all 4) out in July 2014 as they were causing me problems.
My teeth sucked. LOL
Oh, my wisdom teeth removal was so fun. And by that I mean needles make me very nauseous, so after the first prick I was ready to just go under and try not to throw up. And then it turned out the Dentist couldn’t find a good vein so I got needled multiple times when I was only supposed to get the one IV. I threw up, and then when they were trying to get me to calm down to breathe in the gas, the nurse just had a natural pissed off voice, mixed with the 20 year old man who just threw up on himself out of fear. She just kept angrily repeating to tell me to breathe, and I was sure I was breathing right, but because she had to keep angrily repeating it, I went under while dealing with the worst anxiety that I was probably doing something wrong and everything was gonna go wrong and I’d lose the nerves in my face.
Man, that sounds terrible. Sorry you went through that.
How did you do afterwards?
@@RYMAN1321 After all that and I finally went to sleep, it was like I blinked. They didn’t give me or my stepmom any instructions, they just put me in the car and sent me off. I didn’t have any loopiness from the gas, so I just played Blue Fire and bled for the day. Also, I had reminded my managers a month in advance, and the day before, that’d I be gone for a week. And they still got mad when I didn’t show up for work.
Nitrous oxide doesn't just make you happy and giggly, it made me just cry for no reason, like I didn't feel a damn thing but I was still crying. I was getting 4 teeth removed before getting braces (they weren't baby teeth, just teeth that were in the way) which actually made room for my wisdom teeth to grow on without any pain.
I've only got one wisdom tooth. With any luck, I'll never have to worry about it. (-_-)
is it usual to get completely sedated for this procedure?mmm....I don't think we do that in Mexico, it's always the same as Jaiden.
Whenever I ever need a needles in my mouth for dental stuff they always put the needle in my gums .
And it always FECKING HURTS LIKE HELL
Jaiden's dentist seemed to have gotten her license from the guy in Little Shop of Horrors
I rather breathe my own in teeth instead of having that gel on them. That stuff would taste nasty and the ride home would take too long.
@@mangaanimefan3089 And the only thing you could eat is bread but the gel would spoil it...
Ugh!, I couldn't eat anything for hours after that! That taste just..lingers, doesn't it?
I was fully awake for one of my wisdom teeth being drilled. I could feel, smell, and taste everything, and they had to have every nurse they had hold me down because of how much pain I was in, I was getting violent. I went into full-blown primal fight-or-flight and was about to start swinging in the chair.
At 4:48
Once I would've heard not put under I'd pick literally anybody else and check that they didn't get their licenses from a degree mill.
I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled at once. And they told me I couldn’t eat solid stuff for a while…..I got sushi literally hours later. My mouth is fine
Fortunately for me I was unconscious the whole surgery... well maybe that was because I had 4 wisdom teeth to be removed and one molar that had a cavity INSIDE the tooth.
I love to watch this reaction bc I don't have friends to watch together
5:50 Before bracers and retainers, me teeth were CROOKED and 'ad an UNDER-bite. :D
I completely feel her fear about getting those teeth removed. Shit it fucking terrifying!!
My dentist had to rip of 6 of my baby teeth
7:44 that sun just *S q u a s h e d*
Honestly, getting a shot of Novocaine isn't that bad. Try getting local anesthesia for a ingrown toenail, now thats painful
Actually been there. It was not great whataoever
I wasn't put under when I got my wisdom teeth out. I was completely conscious the whole time 😂
I was put under to when I had my wisdom teeth taken out and I had 2 and I think it cost like 1000 or more I don't remember man my dad was happy about the bill
I think I was only given a local when I had my top wisdom teeth removed because I remember the process, I just didn't feel anything. It was a strange sensation though.
I got lucky with my teeth, only a few cavities and fillings nothing major, and luckily I only have two wisdom teeth, on the top, and they're so small and came in perfectly straight that my dentist says I can just leave them there with no issues. I actually need to go back soon, it's been over a year.
you guys should react to why i dont like reading by jaiden also stay safe and keep making videos this is one of my favourite reaction channels so keep making content good luck!
Yeah, if I get together with friends a get a camera I can also make money by sitting there using my phone
The dentist said that I’m lucky because My wisdom teeth never formed
Love you guys!!!
Renegades please react to any of screen rants pitch meetings.
I got 4 molars extracted so I could start my braces treatment. It was the worst! The 4 were removed in one session. At school I couldn’t do PE, I had to eat at the nurse’s room to avoid bumping into other students and I was given tardy passes on almost every class because My locker was a bit far from most of my classes. The stitches eventually fell out and I could start my braces treatment. Worst 5 years of my life. I also got skinny... now I’m fat lol
Fun fact: I never had any wisdom teeth.
