    More vespa video please

    Yep, just like Mayberry. Same as where I live. I only remove my key when going to the city. As to the use of racks, my Vespa is my car. My wife has a car and I have my Vespa. Without racks/topcase(sometimes I remove it to haul more on the rack) I couldn't carry the weekly supplies to the elderly. Couple or three Amazon boxes filled full and strapped to the rack/stuffed in the step through and I don't need/want no stick'n cage 🤣
    I was walking outside taking foliage photos this morning. It is indeed beautiful scenery.

    We have little farm operations like that up and down the valley, especially where the Amish farms are more common. And the honor system of payment is still in use. It always amazes me to see a box full of cash at the end of a farm lane.
    Autumn is upon us here. I'm looking forward to eventually get out and ride. Before it snows...

      Seeing the honor system still work somewhere is a beautiful thing.

    I just love this simple video. Just running errands. Please make more!!. I'm saving up money for the 2023 Vespa GTS that was just announced last week! Want to buy one in march next year! Got the Elettrica now, that's gonna be a difference ;).

    A little Vespa in Colorado 😊 with all those big pickups I wonder if sometimes someone asks you about your scooter,if there is a somewhat general interest or not in this little two-wheeled scamp.

    • @flatgrindrides
      @flatgrindrides  2 роки тому +2

      The little scamp does get attention. I notice lots of looks. As I was walking towards it with my groceries a couple days ago, a little boy with his mom were both looking at it and talking to each other. I heard her say, “Your right it is a Vespa!” The previous two trips to the grocery store I had older ladies say, “Beautiful bike” and “Pretty bike” as I was loading my groceries and getting on to leave. I’ve had people roll down their windows at traffic lights and compliment it, so people seem to like the little scamp enough to say something. 👍

      @@flatgrindrides that’s nice!! I always wondered how these scooters were viewed in America since you have big trucks,big cars, big and wide roads..here in Europe they are so common they don’t even get that much attention 💔

    • @flatgrindrides
      @flatgrindrides  2 роки тому +1

      @@frankiepavinato I’m sure it’s different in different parts of the US, but it does seem to get attention. I think too that people often see a scooter and expect it to be a 50cc “moped” that only goes 35 mph, and they are surprised that this bike is “fast”. Mostly I think that it is an iconic design that they recognize and a striking color that gets the attention.

      I have a Vespa 300 GTS (green) in Parker CO and there’s rarely a time when I’m NOT asked questions about it❤I put many miles a week on it buzzing around between Parker, Littleton and Castle Rock. Love these videos as I’m quite alone having a scooter. I’ve only seen one other Vespa and it’s not a 300. Loads of motorcycles around….many times I don’t even rate the “cool wave”

    I am confused: if you see ASR on the dash means it is "ON" if you don't see it is "OFF"??? I looked it up recently because I had some trouble with it. One night the temperature dropped more than 15°C which deflated one tire more than the other. Difference in diameter = different turn speed between front and back. If that difference is too great the computer thinks the bike is slipping -> ASR intervenience! How many do you feed with 24 eggs? ;-);-);-)

    • @flatgrindrides
      @flatgrindrides  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, the ASR thing is confusing. Apparently they don't calibrate it at the factory, and when I bought my bike the dealer had not done it either. I got the bike home and realized that they ASR was not working, and I had to look up the calibration procedure (it is in the manual p.63 and you can find videos online). Anyway, when ASR is properly calibrated and working, when you start the bike and before you start riding, the ASR will flash once-per-second on the dash display. Once you start riding, the "ASR" goes away and you should see NOTHING on the dash display. If you see ASR as a steady display while you are riding, that means that the ASR is OFF! This could be because it needs to be calibrated, OR because you pushed the ASR button to turn it off intentionally. If you are riding with the ASR on and it engages because of wheel slip, it will flash quickly (5 times per second) while it is actively trying to control slip or rear wheel spin. Hopefully I have explained it in a way that makes sense. As for the eggs, that was just my breakfast!!! LOL!

    Your comments about speeding were interesting. Here in the UK there are just so many speed camera’s that have been installed at the side of the road it’s just not worth the risk of getting points on your license. I’ve noticed a change in general driving behaviour since more and more cameras have appeared and people seem to have slowed down. The latest we have are average speed cameras on some roads. One near me has average speed over a section of road running several miles. Do you have anything like that stateside?

    • @flatgrindrides
      @flatgrindrides  2 роки тому +1

      When I made those comments I was thinking about you guys in the UK and Europe, as I thought you might find it interesting how fast people drive here on these types of streets. As for the speed cameras, I don’t think there are many here. Traffic cameras in the states where I have lived have been primarily red light cameras which monitor people not stopping at intersections. I don’t know much about it but my impression is that there have been a number of legal cases which make traffic cameras monitoring speed impractical from a legal standpoint or unpopular politically. Their use and legality varies from state to state.

    I couldn't believe that you just left your key in the ignition, even though you were right there. I'm so paranoid from having lived in some sketchy areas in my life that I lock everything down, even for 2 seconds away. LOL Pretty drive, even around town!

      I know. Not that there is zero crime here, but it is really nice. I’ve lived in some high crime, big cities and this is quite a contrast. When we first moved here, our next-door neighbor made fun of me because I locked our front door when I left the house to walk the dog! 😂

      I’m thinking about it… I know it’s silly, but I love the clean lines and I almost don’t want to put a rack on. Do you have a front and rear on yours? Which do you use the most?

      @@flatgrindrides i just purchased a vespa and it"s at dealership getting add ons of windscreen front and back racks. my other scoots i have rear racks used all the time but no front. vespa racks are like a jeep with a spare tire in back, just goes with the look. front rack i think will be used less but for over flo it may come in handy.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this little errand ! Sadly, two days ago I came very, very close to buying a new midnight blue 2022 GTS 300 from my local Dealer, but quit on the negotiation after I realized, they were simply playing a "Shell Game" with me. I was told they were willing to mark the bike down $500 from the MSRP. I was thinking I would be out the door for around $8000 with the bike marked down from $7100 to $6600. When I responded to the salesman's email via phoning him, he told me my out the door came in at $9300. I said that was a bit more than I thought it would be. He promised to get right back to me with hopefully, a lower price. Well . . . he did ! but . . . the bike now discounted a whopping $1000 was somehow, still stuck at the $9300 out the door price ! He did send a detailed breakdown of cost and I was astounded that the setup fee was $900 for a bike which arrives fully assembled unlike a Can Am Spyder, a whopping $500 document fee, and over $900 shipping cost. What I find even more amazing is this . . . according to Robot from Scooter West San Diego (I'm in Phoenix, AZ) all the new 2023 Vespa models increased $700 in price and he stated you would pay right about $10,000 out the door for a new scooter. Funny, I was being quoted almost exactly $700 less @ $9300 out the door for a model 2022 GTS and for a bike now almost one model year old with ZERO DISCOUNT for a scooter priced exactly $700 less than the new 2023's! Well . . . sadly, I'm now back to looking at Can Am Spyders but I really wanted that midnight blue Vespa 300 with the tan seat :O I'll be up you way very soon as I leave for Colorado Friday morning to meet my son Miles in Loveland. Too bad I won't have that Scoot on the back of my Subaru, we could have enjoyed a ride together.

      I am really sorry to hear that. Working with motorcycle and car dealers can be such a pain. It just feels like a racket sometimes. New vespas are painfully expensive. There’s just no getting around that.
      Your comment makes me happy that I purchased mine when I did. With the inflation we are seeing, they just aren’t going to get any cheaper. Of course our dollars may be worth less, but that’s a whole other can of worms!
      I hope you find something you like at a price that works. Have a good trip!

Got new moto guaranteed hope is not serious called dealer in CA they told bring it back ? 20 hrs round Trip 300 dls in gas plus 50 dls U-Haul trailer fee and did pay them for the prep . Called Suzuki they told me take it to local AZ dealers . Ask California dealer for part prep refund ? The California dealer dealer said take it to local dealer or make appointment with our service department but Long drive ? You better of at AZ dealer use your new moto guaranteed . Dint even mentioned part prep refund ? Hope for best so I can ride they where the only store that had new one in show room . Chaparral motorsports San Bernardino CA .

      OMG! That’s crazy. As I recall you traded your MP3 for the Burgman to *avoid* avoid hassles with service, and now this?! All I can say is GOOD LUCK 🍀! I hope your local dealer gets you all fixed up quickly and without any more BS!
