I've tried so many things to fix my Mac so that it stops shutting down without the power cord in. This seems to have done the trick, so thank you! Fingers crossed. I keep thinking that something has worked and then it shuts down after working on it for a bit without the power cord plugged in.

I've been treading down this rabbit hole for a while now and I've made a lot of progress and have a lot better control of my computers. I have 2 macbooks and a macbook pro. I'm still working on the macbooks but I was able to resolve my issue with the macbook pro. The issue with mine was, I had to open it up completely and extremely carefully disassemble all of the attachments and pull out the circuit board remove the heat sink and f*** with the thermal paste on the AMD chip. Most macbook pros from the early 2011's had had 2 chips, an AMD and an Intel. The Intel is integrated. It generally runs off the AMD. The AMD was so bad that they did a massive recall come up but that was years ago it has since ended. So, I opened it up and and cleaned off just a little bit of the thermal paste, and re applied some which helped a great deal and at least help me to get the computer started from single user mode Command + A. It would probably work from verbose mode as well command + V. Once I was able to start the computer up again and get back in there finally, I downloaded an app called GFXcardstatus. This app allows you to switch between the AMD and the integrated Intel chip. Which I did, but you can also set it as a login item so that it automatically follows the settings you apply on startup. So I was able to switch to just the integrated chip and To prevent the AMD chip from interfering with startup, I said it so that it would Start up under those conditions. Best of luck to you. Cheers_
Still shuting down ... But in my case I discovered somtehing, if i'm moving the mouse (trackpad) or using keyboard it won't shutdown, but when I stop doing something, it shut down 30sec after... It looks like the power button is stuck ... Do you know any way to repair this ?? model : Macbook Air mid 2012

I've been trying to do thing like this for 2 hours now and none of them have worked! The loading bar of the laptop just completely stops at one point and then after a few minutes it shuts off. I can’t even get to this screen. I can only get to the internet recovery screen but then it just shuts down after loading and brings back up the internet recovery screen again upon reboot.

I have just today fixed my late 2013 over 1 year of attempts and apple trying to scam me as usual by trying to charge me £599. I took out the SSD internal stick and noticed it was a little blackened where it connects back into the socket, I clean it with cleaning alcohol (JOOP aftershave ) with a cotton wool bud and boom my MacBook is back up and running. I hope this works for you too!
Mine keeps on crashing when i updated to sierra. I tried to factory reser and everything but still the same issue.if i open google after 1 minute it will restart again😔

I can only turn on using power adapter but as soon as I unplug my usb from my mac my mac shut down and I need to used power adapter power my mac and keep on using my mac though it has 💯 fully charged.
