This movie was panned by critics, but in my opinion what they failed to realize is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s made for pre-teen and teens and has a storyline that adults would like. This scene actually highlighted the purpose of the movie, even the over the top finishing kick. It’s just supposed to be an enjoyable movie to watch.
Loved this movie as a kid/pre-teen… so your point is valid!! The critics were probably middle aged and only saw Chuck Norris as the 80’s legend he was … Code of Silence comes to mind .. So this movie just didn’t do it for them . I’m speculating but that seems like the case.
My grandpa always loved watching chuck Norris movies. He also loved jackie chan and bruce lee. He was a huge fan of martial arts films. He passed away January of 2021. I always revisit these films because they were my childhood. I grew up watching them because he loved them.
Joe is literally what I enjoyed so much about this scene. Norris was dry as heck lol. He cheap shots Norris then turns around and says “I didn’t say go man, I wasn’t ready”.
The screeching sound he makes and the start up of a supposed flying kick are similar to a scene in Dragon: the Bruce Lee Story with Jason Scot Lee doing a similar serious version. I don't know which movie came first.
@@crazyman7671 imagine if Bruce was alive today! He could have went on to be in movies such as I’m gonna get you sucka, scary movie, and maybe a action spoof called Whaaaaaaaaa!!
@Luis Ruiz yeah but imagine him refereeing here and when Stone does HIS kick on Chuck, the exchange goes like this: *Stone flexes and yells and gets in his stance to attack. Bruce immediately recognized what he was going to do* Bruce:"(looks at Stone, then to Chuck) 😑 ugh seriously?🤨" but then instead of DQ-ing Stone, Chuck looks at Lee and goes "I remember this one. Isn't this what you showed me to counter it?(Chuck executes his jumping kick before the sentence ends)" *Stone drops like a sack of potatoes and bemoans how much it hurts* Bruce: "HEY😃YOU REMEMBERED. AWESOME" Chuck: "I never lose the same way twice"
Sheer brilliance and poetic poignancy, movies such as this will resonate forever, with grace, beauty, divine magnificence and exquisite, outstanding and sweetly euphoric PUNCHING POWER!! Though what sparkling gem, where all the various elements come flowing together so seamlessly, so smoothly, and so amazingly. Cinematic perfection of the highest, most sublime order. Why the fuck in the sacred name of Norris has Chuck not won an Oscar yet? That, dear friends and connoisseurs of the cheesy and absurd, is the preeminent mystery of our time, this seemingly esoteric question that only the loftiest of lofty Gods can answer. We mere mortals can only sit back and scratch our crab infested nuts all while immersed in heavenly wonder and awe. Chuck Norris movies tend to have quite the magical and mystical effect upon people, generating this vibrant, soothing, dreamy and intoxicating vortex that any enlightened and spiritually awakened soul should only be too eager to plunge into, with this profound sense of purpose and everlasting fervor. This movie, this spellbinding cinematic rendering, is perfection, exquisitely crafted, lovingly fashioned and superbly, painstakingly and brilliantly put together as it was. Dazzling!! And Oscar worthy.
I loved how stunningly bad this movie should be. Yet Jonathan Brandis, Mako, Joe Piscapo, and even Chuck made their individual roles memorable enough that, as much as I wanted to hate this movie, it was impossible to hate it, LOL! Like the way Brandis played Barry's character that 'felt' so real and relatable to any awkard kid that either didn't have any friends, or was bullied. I thought Mako was hilarious. And Piscapo played Stone like an utter cartoon to match up with Barry's cartoonish dreams. So it just worked, even as you were rolling your eyes at him.
3:11, If that were a killer asteroid, two things would probably happen, he could kick the asteroid into a million pieces or the asteroid would go back into the atmosphere and go into deep space.
Would have been nice if, instead of a Chuck Norris circle-jerk, Joe actually put up a real fight in the beginning. But he quickly grew frustrated at his inability to land a real hit, got angrier and more reckless until he was just eating pavement at the end.

This was a Great movie for kids
And that's why we don't take critics seriously 8).

Joe Piscapo was more shredded than a julienne salad
Still one of my all time faves
even in this days, this movie is just too awesome
Same is true today, in 2021!
The way Joe Piscopo plays off the hits like they didn't hurt, but when turns away from Chuck 😂😂😂😂😂
The way the music starts right when Norris lands the first kick on him made me lol
My grandpa always loved watching chuck Norris movies. He also loved jackie chan and bruce lee. He was a huge fan of martial arts films.

The 90’s was full of martial arts movies with over the top, evil, gym owner villains and it was hilarious!
"Yeah! Come on, COME ON!" 😂I already knew he was gonna be on that b.s. from that point on
Joe is literally what I enjoyed so much about this scene. Norris was dry as heck lol. He cheap shots Norris then turns around and says “I didn’t say go man, I wasn’t ready”.

Two legendary mullets facing off
This movie is the pinnacle of 80's/90's American culture.
My middle school took us on a field trip to Lamar High school to be the in the audience for this scene.
Totally right. This scene is the only reason why I looked for this clip. 👍🏽
2:52 He's not gonna try and pull that Bruce Lee crap with Chuck Norris...he's seen it all before LOL
Chuck stood toe to toe with me. Lee
Also I'm sure Bruce showed Chuck the counter to it as well.
This scene reminds me of Logan Paul vs Mayweather fight tbh
I wonder if Bruce would've laughed at all of this.
Imagine if Bruce had been that official between them 😆

Taylor Ahern Greatest achievement in American cinema history, indeed.

Like when he says Shut up Twerp 😂
My favorite scene
Jajajaja excelent
I just realized that that’s Mr. Satan
Joe piscopo saw the karate kid and loved it by seen it with his son
Alot of people dint realize that Joe piscopo is referencing BRUCE LEE and Chuck Norris's fight many years ago
Piscopo looked like he was juicing!
I thought it was a jab at JCVD
The movie was a reference to was Way Of The Dragon
Never knew shooter McGavin was a black belt
Piscopo my G 😂
he talked all that trash an got his ass..WHOOPED !.lol
“Wooooooooooooooo!!!!” 🫨
For the longest time I thought it was Christopher McDonald.
3:11, If that were a killer asteroid, two things would probably happen, he could kick the asteroid into a million pieces or the asteroid would go back into the atmosphere and go into deep space.
I asked this as a 12 year old, and I’m asking as a 43 year old now. How did he land on his face after doing being kicked into a quadruple back flip
Would have been nice if, instead of a Chuck Norris circle-jerk, Joe actually put up a real fight in the beginning. But he quickly grew frustrated at his inability to land a real hit, got angrier and more reckless until he was just eating pavement at the end.
1:04 I am fine.
1:06 I am not.
Ooh, that brother is floating in the air
How could his hands do this?
Oh, someone get him out the air
Joe Piscopo looks like Steven Segal here.
Love Chuck Norris
2:48 whose mans is this (Dude was trying to powerup like Goku xd)
Shooter McGavin on steroids
3:17 if wwe wrestlers wore go pros
3:11 you're welcome
Lolol
Thank you....😆😆😆😆
You notice that Norris didn't really do anything fancy to win.
You can't do that hit a grown man .
3:22
@2:46-2:51
i do that every morning
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Joe Piscopo would be perfect for Eagle Fang
Dang, Joe was ripped in the day. I loved this movie. I did notice that the sounds effects were the same used in TMNT 3. I know, nerd alert. 🤣
eeeeeh! oooooooh!!!
Best scene is the Ninja scene
So back in the late 80s and early 90s, is that where Homer Simpson frm The Simpsons modeled his looks from? Joe Piscopo?
2.02 Why Chuck didn"t hit him?
I love Chuck Norris, but Piscopo stole the show!
Fuckin Chuck Norris
Chuck Norris once threw a hand grenade killing five people......then it exploded.
YEA COME ON LOL
Never heard much about this movie. Now I know why.
Cause you lame.
It’s a classic
Definitely not the best scene in the movie. The nunchuck dream sequence and the fire brick break are far better.
Chuck Norris, You win many your movies, but you lose to Bruce Lee.
uh ..yea its bruce lee..lol thats the one guy he could never beat
Darren Daffon Bruce Lee also teached Chuck, they were friends in real life.
Hes the only man ever known to survive a right with chuck norris
