Australian Farmers Deal With Thousands Of Dingo Dogs Attacking Livestock - Farming Documentary

- Dingo dogs, native to Australia, present a complex challenge to the country's agricultural sector. As apex predators, dingoes play a crucial role in maintaining the ecological balance by controlling populations of various species, including invasive ones. However, their presence becomes problematic for farmers and livestock producers. Dingoes are known to prey on sheep, cattle, and other domestic animals, leading to significant economic losses.

How they have held our environment in perfect balance before European invasion stuffed the environment by replacing Dingoes with sheep.

I think farmers should buy Kangals.

Does it not get blisteringly hot in these parts of Australia? Not sure the best environment for Kangals. Seems like a shorter haired LGD would fit the application better maybe?

The dingo's got my baby
Just for future reference that is considered extremely offensive and disrespectful by the majority of Australians and is not acceptable.
you should not have left it unatended.
Some Australian farmers are letting Dingoes onto their property and have noticed a sharp decline in feral cats and foxes.
That's interesting! farmers may be leveraging their natural hunting instincts to help manage pest populations more effectively.
And an increase in productivity due to less competition for feed by native and feral herbivores. Also having a structured dingo pack with Alpha breeding pairs eliminates stock predation due to younger Dingoes being taught to hunt their prefered prey which is not livestock. Vast improvement in native vegetation also eliminates erosion and soil drift creating barren ground as well as cover for smaller native animals which contrary to false belief are not part of the diet for Dingoes.
Awesome to watch this informative Channel.
Thank you.

Ask Adrikans how they managed to balance their ecosystems.
The methods used by various African communities to balance their ecosystems have been diverse and adapted to their specific environments and cultural practices.
@@tony98discovery Afrikans recognize that they are part of the natural environment, and act in compliment.
On the other hand, the approach of europeans is to fight nature. They attack nature as if there was no tomorrow, as the World is now experiencing the results of their unbridled greed and folly.
During an exploration journey far away, I encountered a dingo. This made me feel puzzled and alarmed, unsure of how to react to its sudden attack. The initial curiosity turned into fear in face of the dangers of the natural world.
In such encounters, it's important to prioritize your safety and take appropriate precautions.
@@tony98discovery Is that right? Have you thought of a better solution yet???
I have seen dingoes interact badly with humans
@@TonyDear-gh6rg Unless they have lost their natural fear of humans by idiots feeding and trying to interact with Dingoes attacks are extremely rare. Wild Dingoes are curious and will often watch from a distance which to the unfamiliar appears threatening. But a wild dingo will steer clear of humans and have a natural flight over fight. You will never heard of anyone being randomly attacked by a dingo that has not had human contact. Never. Unless of course you foolishly approach a den with pups, but both parents will give ample defence warnings and will only attack if you ignore and attempt to take a pup.
i do not fear the natural world and its wild life , but i do fear the corrupt members of humanity that want to have control over the natural world and those that demonize it, very sad humans indeed.
Красные волки
There are many other invasive animals' farmers have to deal with. As usual government of Australia is implementing half-baked solutions for decades. Sometimes one must ask. Is there really desire to eliminate the problem. Wild boars and hybrid pigs are taking over north America and Canada, Even Europe I guess when there will be absolute hunger in western world we might see rapid solution. We always hear the humans exiting this animal and that animal going baclk300k years. Just now we seem to be helpless.
These invasive species can cause extensive damage to ecosystems, agriculture, and native wildlife. Controlling their populations is challenging, and as you mentioned.
Protect pure blood Dingoes asap.
Conservation measures for dingoes may include habitat protection, managing interactions with humans and domestic animals, controlling hybridization with domestic dogs,...
Dingos aren't dogs. They're a separate species, much the same way wolves are a separate species to dogs.
Thank you, have you ever had a pet dog?
@@tony98discovery Yes of course. Owned more than a couple, both working dogs and pets. I was also gifted a dingo pup as a young bloke in the early 70s. Grew up very protective of me. Did you know that they have semi retractable claws, kind of like a cat? Helps them climb trees to chase birds nests, I guess.

Invasive species can outcompete native flora and fauna for resources, resulting in the decline or extinction of indigenous species
Sheep you mean? They are the most destructive invasive animals we have here.
Yes, managing invasive species involves a combination of prevention, early detection, and control measures.
Yes, sheep considered invasive in their native regions, can become destructive in ecosystems where they have been introduced, particularly if they are not managed properly
They have bee there 4000 years…..invasive?

What is happening in Australia. At one stage they thought the were extinct?
Australia is home to many unique species, some of which have faced threats of extinction due to various factors such as habitat loss, climate change, and invasive species.
I don't know where you got the information that dingo were thought to be extinct. I have lived in Australia all my life - 72 years, and I have never once heard that information. Don't know where you heard it, but it is wrong, very wrong.
Why does Australia have all these animal problems, cats rats , rabbits and dogs?
Yes, the introduction of non native species can disrupt these ecosystems and lead to the decline or extinction of native flora and fauna.
Humans are the reason. U fortunately we also have the highest mammal extinction rate in world
because the poms introduced them .

The dingo is just as feral as foxes cats pigs and rabbits I'd like to know how many native species they have wiped out since being introduced to Australia something no one seems to talk about.
I think their presence may have a more balanced ecological impact by controlling populations of introduced pests.
It is said that the Thylacine became extinct on the mainland because of the introduction of dingo's but this happened 4000 years ago so any damage has already occurred long ago.

There are chemicals that can make a male dingo sterile???
Yes, there are methods for controlling the population of wild animals, including dingoes.
just curious - cannot the farmers use LSD (livestock guardian dog)?
Yes, they are often left to roam freely with the livestock and instinctively defend them from potential threats.
With all predator their population needs to be kept in check around society period.
It's understandable that there's a need to manage predator populations around human communities to ensure public safety and protect livestock and pets.

When did kangaroos become invasive animals in Australia?
The issue of kangaroos being considered invasive animals in certain contexts arises primarily when their populations exceed sustainable levels or when they encroach upon agricultural land.

Keep your cattle away from wildlife ok

Yes, if you live in an area where jaguars are not native or where their habitat does not overlap with human settlements, then dogs are typically safe from jaguar predation.
Hay farmers. You choose to run a European animal where it doesn't belong and in an environment where you know native predation occurs so take any stock loss as compensation payed for destroying our environment.

Los agricultores australianos invadieron una hermosa isla con muerte
Our West Australian government is sitting on their hands with invasion of camels on our range land farmers near the Northern Territory and South Australian borders with any assistance at all . Governments though have changed laws with Kangaroo's , goats, deer and even asian buffalo , why not assist our farmers and provide a abattoir , this will provide much needed red meat protein for the world's staving population with camel meat . This would be a far beneficial aid program than bomb ,guns and nuclear ships . This is the command of the Lord God who created these animals as beast of burden and safe to nourish our bodies .!
