How you liking your Manix LW? You like it better than your PM2? I love my camo S45 PM2 but I’ve been eyeballing that BladeHQ exclusive Manix LW in M4 for a couple weeks now. Wondering how it compares to the PM2..
Im leaning towards the pm2 just for ease of cleaning purposes. The conpression lock may not be as strong but its less moving parts and its all open, making it seem less prone to problems when used in wet, muddy or sandy conditions
@@woofman4796 The compression lock is very strong. And the ball cage lock is stronger. In a lock strength test blade hq did we saw the compression lock hold 108 lbs Vs 220 for the ball cage.
@@edc4funThe compression lock holding over 100 pounds is far more than adequate for my cardboard slaying on trash day, but it sounds super weak compared to the Tri-ad locks on my Cold Steels. But I don’t think I really need my lock to hold 700 pounds to break down boxes. Lol

Thanks for this video, great comparison. Being a lefty and switching the clip really helps pm2 lock manipulation. The clip gives your fingers a place to grip while you close. Also theres a left handed version of the pm2 which is awesome if youre a south paw.
I have the Manix 2 XL and the Military 2. And, I must say, I like them both for different reasons. To me, they both absolutely "ROCK!!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
My first Spyderco was the Manix 2 and it is still my preference, the blade on the pm2 looks weird to me because I’m used to the para 3, looks like it’s stretched out too long lol. The Manix 2 is a great knife, as a lefty I love the properly ambi lock, thinner stock and although mine started out stiff the action smoothed out to an incredible degree. I think the ergos on the Manix are better too. My heavily modded Manix has a Wharncliffe reblade in cpm magnacut, titanium cage and clip and AWT scales ❤
Love the manix.. got mine 2 weeks ago in g 10. Naturally ordered a new cage, i got a copper one just because i wanted the cage to be a softer metal then the liners it rides on. Had a few problems with the cage, but after busting out my calipers i found the problems. Finger tabs had to be filed down 0.03 and the tail had to be filed down 0.08 and the tip i rounded so woulded snag on the spring if i didnt pull back with equal force on both sides. ( was jamming up in spring ) now its butter smooth pulling back to unlock and releases blade a little sooner then with stock plastic one, just a fabulous knife all around for my daily outdoor tasks, and for fidgeting ( bad adhd i fidget with anything near me ). Best darn knife iv owned in 45 yrs. Going be getting another as a back up in case i loose this one. Will probably dress it up fully customed, with copper cage, copper scales from metonboss, copper back spacer, copper color screws and clip. Be my going out to town knife, and back up.
One thing you will notice past light cutting is the hotspot around the lock on the pm2. The manix is thinner, tougher, and has no hotspots at the expense of not being as simply disassembled/reassembled.
Great video brotha! I own multiple of both and wouldn't if I didn't love both. I personally give the slight edge to the Manix as I feel that it contours to my hand a little better and I love the ball bearing lock. Knife Joy is dropping a exclusive tomorrow in lime green with 20cv. I'm thinking I may grab two with one to make my new main edc and the other to pimp out a little so to speak 😉
I love Cerberus stuff. I still want to get some micarta worker scales for the para3. Of course I highly recommend the Manix. The smock is phenomenal as well. I wish I would’ve grabbed an amalgam before the prices went up. I’ll probably still pick one up at some point. Thanks for stopping by
In my experience it’s not a concern. Just don’t get your knife wet without wiping it off. And a little frog lube or something like that goes a long way. I like s45 a lot too, but Cruwear is really impressive. Check out my 1 year review on it: Spyderco PM2 Cruwear Micarta ua-cam.com/video/uyorzzRu1DE/v-deo.html
@edc4fun I have watched it. I like your videos. Very informative 👍🏻. Would wd-40 be safe as a lube? And I don't ever plan to get it wet, other that sweaty in my pocket.

A pm2 with a ball bearing lock would be a perfect knife. As a lefty, spyderco never really dropped the pm2 left handed with enough options (not even a dlc blade). For $200 they better wash dishes. Just a few years ago, paid $97 for a Manix XL. That was a fair price for a good knife. Today I will take the Land 812 for $55 on Amazon all day. Spyderco will not ship a set of replacement bushings and bearings for their crappy Domino that I paid $150 for. I have to spend about $40 to ship it back have them put another set of the same crappy components in and then pay to ship it back. Spyderco is dead to me. U.S. knife manufacturers taught the Chinese how to produce quality knives at a fair price.
