It seems like Newton might have been given direction to act the way she did in Quantumania. If they performance is the exception and not the rule, that would point to outside factors imo. I think she should be a huge star.
My wife and I just got out from watching it here in Australia and we both loved it. Cast was excellent and the female lead was a standout for being smart, brave but flawed and thrown around like a rag doll by a strong vampire. Can’t wait to watch it again on streaming.
Grace, I just got done watching Abigail and your review is spot on!! Melissa is SO strong in this role and the entire cast was very good. No spoilers so if you enjoy horror with a strong twist of humor strongly recommend going to the theater to see this. Once again Melissa is INSANELY good ❤in this and I’m ready for Abigail 2❤😂

the scream cast were definitely there for melissa the most, on top of radio silence. they all (skeet ulrich, matthew lillard, liana liberato, etc.) took photos with melissa at a fan convention a couple weeks back, and have showed their support for her
Abigail was so much fun. It was a glorious, bloody, gruesome, hilarious gorefest. And yup... There were a couple of twists and surprises. Abigail is easily one of the most entertaining vampire movies that I've seen in years.
Interesting that it's more gory than I expected... from the trailers it looks like one of those exorcism movies (Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Conjuring, etc) 🤔

Have you watched Boy Kills World yet? My friends and I watched it yesterday and it was SOOOO good. We heard NOTHING about it but it had us laughing the whole time and the fight scenes were some of the best i've ever seen.
I watched it last night in 2DX and had a great, fun experience. IIt wasn't that predictable for the most part (which was really nice for a change); the characters were very likable, and I was even rooting for them! The 2DX experience was awesome and made the whole experience even better.
Sad state that a country that talks of freedom of speech get people whining and firing people for their speech. Fire them when they get violent. Not for having an opinion.
Odd, I found the writing particularly poor. They spend half the movie establishing a different mob hitman mythos mystery before they reveal the titular vampire character. Which makes for an incredibly boring first half where the audience is waiting for the characters to catch up and for what is being promised to start delivering.
I had low expectations because I thought the trailer was terrible, but I loved it. All the cringe scenes from the trailer work so well in context. I didn't like Bererra in the Scream movies, but here she is excellent!

Loved it... This was palatable violence and gore but also had some comical moments with heartfelt drama. Really Good Vamp flick, Gotta watch.

I went to see to see the movie not knowing a single thing. Not even the main plot, so I was pleasantly surprised!
