    Man thank you so much for the videos on the raptor!!!! I’m not the best mechanic and don’t know everything about 4 wheelers and don’t really have people to help me figure things out…. So thank you again and please keep making these educational videos on the raptor!!!
    Not skipping adds either lol

    Hello sir I’m having a problem with my 2004 raptor 660r .. it’s sucking air Through the exhaust instead of pushing out air when I try to start it 😬 if you have any information on why it’s doing that I would really appreciate it thanks

      @@Hunters_Mechanics yes it use too start but after I got the piston and rings changed (stock top end kit), new Carburetor, new exhaust (not stock) also bought a used Cylinder head then had new valves put/placed in it😬 and the timing chain has been adjusted push I had a new starter clutch and starter put in it just won’t start up.. 🤷🏾‍♂️

    Hi I have a question for everyone on here Looking for some help I have a 2003 Yamaha raptor 660R fully stocked parts and carburetors issues can anyone please tell me how many turns out for each carburetor air/Fuel mix screw turns
    To get them both to run up hill without hesitation please anyone help
    Thank you

    • @Hunters_Mechanics
      @Hunters_Mechanics  4 роки тому

      The screws should only help when idling and taking off from a stop, before I did my tear down I had both of mine 3 full turns out

    • @01cbr929rider
      @01cbr929rider 4 роки тому

      The screws aren't the reason it hesitates going up hill. They only effect idle.

      Normally for any carb you run all the way in then out 2-2.5.turns. But that’s only a starting point. You could end up in or out from there anything over about 3.5 and the springs may not keep the screws in place. But you have other issues as the air/fuel screws are only for idle and just off of idle. By 1/4 throttle you aren’t even on the pilot circuit any longer. You likely need to pull the carbs pull the bowls and clean them. Do not bother separating the 2 carbs just go through float needles and every jet 1 at a time if you haven’t been in there before. Don’t use carb cleaner on the O rings because it will swell the float needle O rings and the bowl gaskets and they will not go back! Not trying to cut into anyone else’s business. Just offering experience. This is actually very common on these. Especially since alcohol is now in most gas. These quads were not made to run alcohol gas even 5 percent is caustic. And will oxidize the whole carb system.

    • @billyclevenger2632
      @billyclevenger2632 2 роки тому +1

      Nope. It calls for yamabond. But permatex ultra grey works very well and won’t be as much trouble coming back off. You won’t need a 2x4. Use barely enough. Many raptors have been taken out by silicone globes in the oil pump.
