It all comes down to gameplay. ToF just didn't create a robust enough system to keep people engaged past the new shoe smell. In Genshin, a new character can create new gameplay styles across all existing characters. In ToF new characters force you to shelf your old characters.
Imo EVERYONE NEEDS RED NUCLEUS!! But to make ppl play more they need to bring new missions every week and change the daily bounty (same bounty gets boring )
Server's merged in Global a while back. The main problem we encountered was that the game was struggling on world content due to overloaded channels and so server lag became a thing with world bosses becoming 1 fps slide shows. A further problem was that Hotta's dev's never figured out a way to manage people's unique character names so many (including myself) lost their names. Your name changed to something like Name#j. They said a system would be developed that allowed multiple people to have any name they wanted, but here we are still waiting months later. They simply gave a name change voucher to let you pick a new name. Overall I still think it was a good idea as it helped increase player activity and today a patch is landing to finally address some of the overloaded channel lag so we will see what happens on that front in Global. Just a comment on your loadout. One of my fav loadout's is Alyss, Meryl, Saki so a similar tank team to yours. I run Altered Destiny and Drone for a boost to healing otherwise I can tank the new L100 Xing (as a L97) world boss fine without any healer support. Trait wise I use Molinia's +30% Healing. Saki's discharge heals for around 330k and Meryl's spin to win (using her maxed out chips) is doing 95k a tick. Gear wise I simply run my max DPS Frost set and pet being the new Frost Gacha pet Leia. Alyss' zone and C1 ability gives double discharges so you have a nuclear shield break on Meryl when needed. Saki's discharge and Meryl's spin to win are enough healing for most situations. Alyss gives the best mobility in the game with Dragon flight. Great fun team all round.
I hope they merge servers for pc and PlayStation because yeah every time I try to team up for Joint Operation, Void Rift, ect I don’t get matches hardly ever. Only rarely will it occur unless I hop in world chat and ask players if they want to team up and do them which can be tedious sometimes. If every time I tried to match with other players, I could get a 4 man group, that would be amazing imo lol!
to clarify something ventus said a server merge is possible between what platform you play on. it is not possible right now to transfer a character from your pc client onto your ps5 they would need to make the game cross play for that. a character transfer is where you can get a account on a server you played and move its info into a different server on the same platform.
I enjoying farming/chest hunting and combat. My friend wishes there was more team modes for us to battle together. He can handle alot solo so my friend doesn't want my help anymore. So yeah maybe more team modes. Closest thing we got is orgin of war but he still level 72 so he can't do it yet.
Totally agree with all you said! I think it would be interesting to see a mode where the boss has some kind of adaptive HP that scales depending on the overall team level. Server merge has me a little on edge. I think it would be great to play with more people but do you think it could cause weird bugs or slow downs? I think they should also have a way to merge accounts for players like me and you that had accounts on “un-mergable” servers. Or ways to send over our characters to the PS5 version. I miss my Saki 😢
I'm not sure what server you're playing on, I play on N. America 8 and we still have a thriving player base of both whales, and F2P's that are consistently logging in & playing. Now our server isn't as old as yours, we're level capped at 72 at the time of this post, but I still see new players showing up in World chat, saying "Hi" and asking questions. The biggest criticism I hear players on my server talk about is the User Interface... The PlayStation UI is atrocious and needs some work, or at the very least it needs a "re-map" feature so we can change the quick access wheel and how we bring out the cursor. There are people who complain about level capping & time gating, but those of us who've played Gacha games before know this is standard fare and accept it. But I don't see this game dying, I don't see my server "drying up" so to speak, we have people playing. A server merge would make the pool bigger, and make matchmaking easier, but I don't think that merging servers is the end all/be all fix for the game. UI and bugs are a huge problem that I feel is being overlooked. 😎

Most of the very same people who said those things ended up quitting anyway, or they still play and complain about their servers are dying out slowly. Since the game’s release, Genshin 3.0 update took a lot of players from ToF, Honkai star rail release took another good chunk of ToF players, honkai star rail released on the PS5 and i saw many PS ToF jumped to Star Rail. Now, there are other highly anticipated games in the works like Wuthering Waves and Project Mugen that might even come to PlayStation as well, and a lot of the current ToF players are waiting to jump to those games.
FF XIV has had server merge for specific content since day 1. Its a crime ToF still doesn't implement this feature. Makes queuing for raids sooooooooooooooooo much quicker. 1st thing Hotta need to do tho is fix the lag when there are more than 4 ppl on screen, i.e the new world boss event. Wow it lags so hard its impossible to beat the boss. It also should share server dmg.

Tera isn't a cross-platform game anymore, but I like that they never tide players to lvl grind: Example max lvl is 65 (tof is 95) • Tera dev gave everyone rewards till max lvl and equipment (combat score on tof) till u reach endgame status • players got rewards no matter of how many accounts u got so basically this was your full length tutorial on character class (for tof this would be your weapon) Can Tof offer those services 🤔I'll play game again Side note I hate the game's landscaping not a fan of Vera or domain 9 how do I say "world exploration" no teleport on high rise buildings or on domain9 case easy access to areas I hate the climb just to speak to npc on Vera fuck 😒 I haven't finished world exploration on either of those areas because that torment design yes I'm on console too

That lag is constant on ps4 consoles when the battle starts dont understand why they couldnt fix it I know ps5 is the way to go but this cant be like that playin a action rpg if half the time the game lags freezes in battle
Explain exploration things around the world's of Vera extra domain 9 so know what to do like examples: like the blue flower looking things in extra soultion:throw blue enemies rolling around in the flower, or Vera has catctus hit it boom black nuclueus, mole in Vera that are dancing clap for them boom another nucleus, umm inners astra there there plant you have to hit with fire weapon and I just got domain 9 not sure anything around there stuff like that there a lot these type things on map not sure what to do with some of them like to know being 92% done with a area
If they're allowed Xbox and console player to play together that would probably be even more great because some of the players that I want to play with they play on console and I cannot play with them because the game does not allow to and if they could do I would love it
Not to be a downer but PS and Xbox cross play will not happen anytime soon or worse, never. They already separated PS from PC so I doubt crossplay will ever happen. 😢
I think the server merge is just for ps, i think i read on either reddit or discord that something about their contract w/ Sony made it prohibitive to join pc/mobile w/ console but im not 100% on that...personally this is my 1st gaccha game, Ive mostly played MMO's (DCUO & FF14) over the last 10 yrs or so, so the survey was refreshing and im like you V where I enjoy the team pve modes alot, especially w/ the added mechanic of the buffs for the relative modes...my favorite question in the survey oddly enough was the one when they asked why I havent pulled on Ling Han😂 bc I WANT to pull for Ling Han but they conveniently had all the reasons why i couldnt pull for her as answers, so it gave me the feeling that they understand the dynamics behind player's approach to pulling for weapons in the game...also heard a rumor that w/ the new dual resonance SSR'S that they will begin dropping double re-run banners so instead of waiting 3-4 cycles to pull on your element you get to pull every other, at least thats what theyre doing in China currently
11:30 That was always the plan. Genshin did something similar with PlayStation players until "they figured out" how to let PlayStation accounts play on Mobile.
A server merge would actually put me off the game. I dont want to deal with whale wars or measuring pp size. My server is newer and everyone helps each other and it is awsome, like one big family. Dont merge me with a bunch of d bags on the older servers. I dont want that at all sorry. Sorry for my choice of words I dont know how else to put it sadly lol. Truly though this is how I feel. If it wasnt for my server being so cool I would've been off the game and a server merge would more than likely put more newer people off the game than not having a merge. Just my opinion and experience though. Older servers go ahead leave the newer ones out of a merge. Sorry your not a dev but just wanted to say my piece.
let me comment on the Whales part. I get what you saying. and im not afraid to even say this. whales do ruin the fun for this game. they get to finish everything and they always ahead of you while u still standing back. you cant test ur dmg if whales in ur group, you cant see if you doing a good job if whales in the group. You basically just a wall around them. not to mention some of them they love to show off their dmg. because they want people to say Omg ur good. and i hate that kinda of people
Definitely agree that whales do keep the game alive with pumping the funds into the game. Thats one of the ways we get new content. Tired of hearing complaints about whales in a gacha game🙄 Just play solo, the game gives you that option to.
And maybe for players who r on pc and merge over to Playstation they should get a red nucleus box of 80 because pc/moblie started when the game first came out so they should get a loyalty reward for stay with the game. Or even a special outift for the wander or something like that

More rewards is a definite thing like i put in the survey. Take away the black nucleus past a certain lvl and replace it with yellow standard nucleus.

No contract because Fortnite and call of duty and even madden has pc and PlayStation even baldur gate is getting pc and PlayStation servers
