I have never seen the exit of the carousel catch out that many drivers! driving standards were a bit low for this one. a lot of questionable moves were made. still a great race
The entire weekend was full of cautions. The first Mustang race had maybe four or five green flag laps in the entire race. It made me question the talent of some of the drivers . I saw so many drivers driving recklessly in the Kink. Not a good idea. But in the end, it was another incredible Road America weekend. IMSA and Road America sure can put on a show. Had a great time. PS , Roxy sure looked hot. I think I’m in love❤. Take care…
I'll have to go back and watch the last stint as i was driving during the closing portions of the race, but I did quickly check out the finish! Sounds like a great showing, and it was great seeing the GTPs back in action.
I really enjoyed meeting you Saturday night. It was a great conversation. You have the best news/content for IMSA. I appreciate everything you do for us fans. Keep up the great work.
I think IMSA really needs to consider full course yellows without safety cars and possibly slow zones like are used in Europe. Most of the races are short, unlike for instance the WEC standard 6 hour race and the yellows take way too much time out of green flag running. Full course yellow will slow the cars course wide to say 50 MPH and enable course workers to take care of minor things like debris and the wreckers to remove cars in non critical wrecks, especially single cars and this could also be were slow zones are used. Yellow, then getting the safety car out, bunch up, wave around, two separate pit stop laps( one for prototypes and one for GTs) and all this stuff TAKES TOO MUCH TIME.
Hey! Great meeting you as well! It was a fantastic weekend and I can't wait to return in the future! I did get to try a bunch of the food and everything was fantastic! I get why everyone speaks so highly of the food there!
In my opinion, the driving standards were horrible. Not as bad as Sebring or Long Beach, but by no means good enough. Some people were going for non-existent gaps (Taylor nearly took Nasr out near the end with a move that wouldn't work in a billion years and Deletraz is maintaining his record of 0 races without unnecessary contact), others were blocking and some were just pushing recklessly (Yelloly leaps to mind). I also thought race control was too lenient. The #10 should have copped a penalty for that pit entry, but instead got off with just a warning. In fact, I reckon the driving standards have a lot to do with how lax race control is at IMSA and that damaged this race with all the FCYs. I hope that changes soon.
@@somerandomanonymousnpc If you are referring to the block after passing the 31, I'm not sure it was risky. I wish there was a replay of the onboard for a better view, but IMSA race direction is pretty bad IMO.
It was a good race the yellows kept it from being a great race. Maybe looking into the slow zone method might help for small incidents. Hope you enjoyed your Road America visit Stu. Finally some Turner TACOS again!
I'm disappointed in team Cadillac. They let this race and season just slip away from them. I can see the standings now being #6 porsche, #10 acura, #7 porsche and #01 cadillac after this race
as it stands right now: 1st 7 Porsche Penske Motorsport 2nd 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 3rd 01 Cadillac Racing 4th 31 Whelen Cadillac Dacing 5th 40 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti
Almost every race this season it seems to be the case, it sucks becuase im going for both of them but I think this season is just about over for them. The best that Cadillac has done was winning Laguna Seca and nearly taking Daytona and Sebring but those slipped away at the very end of the race.
@@halow4 yes it’s unfortunate Porsche can’t seem to have a clean race with them and for GTD pro the whole field has been very aggressive when driving with the corvettes out front
I thought the race was pretty crazy, but I’m honestly not a fan of the ability for people to jump positions in the pits traffic under yellow. The entire GTD class was thrown into chaos and teams entire races were changed by the crazy traffic during the first pit under yellow.
Been rooting for BMW GTP since day one... I am a diehard Ford guy so rooting for the Mustangs... And I was rooting for 01 CGR Cadi for championship on their last season.... Not a great race for teams I was rooting for
Road 👏 America 👏 needs👏 to 👏be👏 a👏 six 👏hour👏 race
Agreed. If Sebring can be 12hrs and it's a flowing track just like this one, then Road America could easily be 6hrs
Flowing*
Or even 16 hour race like in Sebring in FIA WEC.
if anyone asks me why i love IMSA so much, i'll show them this race
The Porsche Penske Motorsport in IMSA and Vasser Sullivan RC F are absolutely unstoppable in IMSA 2024 Season.
Imsa/WEC is the best racing series change my mind
100% I tell that to everyone
Correct
I would put Indycar in the mix. I love indycar with tyre compound mix making the racing even better.
@@KilogrammeKGSuper Formula and Super GT and Indy Lights also.
I agree, IMSA either needs to do something about how they handle these full course cautions or they need to lengthen this race to at least 4 hours.
The IMSA officials still need to step up on fixing those full course cautions.
I've been thinking about this a lot this year and I think it's time to put together a video on FCY and how it can be made better
Great meeting you! Hope you enjoyed your first visit
Thanks for saying hi! I had a fantastic time! Hope you enjoyed the weekend!

still a great race
Right? it's usually up farther in the Kink they blow it, not coming out of 10 like that. The BMW was just destroyed by the end of the wall.

Didn't get to meet up with you, but I was also at the track all weekend. Some great racing and good weather! Road America never disappoints
IMSA and FIA WEC has been the TRUE pinnacle of racing series even since 2012.
Nice video. Keep up the good work.

It was nice to meet you! Even if I was sweating heavily in the fire suit!
Saw you walking around in the pit box! Didn’t know you were coming to this race. I’ll come up and say hi next time;)
Yeah stop me and say hi next time! Not sure I'll be able to make it there next year but I am going to try my best to!

I’m in a photo in this video! In the gtd podium photo, I’m holding up a McLaren Inception red flag!!!
Am I one of the few that likes the support races as much as the big show?
Keep up the high quality videos!Very helpful and entertaining
Great video mate! And what a race!!!! But I got to be honest: I was super distracted by all the action happening in the background 😂
Great meeting you Stu! Glad Road America didn't disappoint. Hopefully you got to try all the food my wife recommended!

This race had as much action as an endurance race

correct me if im wrong but didnt nasr also put up a pretty risky block on the 10 or was tht the 31

Man i hope imsa picks you up to do this kind of stuff imsa is not very good with this stuff
What happened to Pfaff? I wish they posted live updates because they just dropped after the first 30 minutes
The ending was spectacular, but just way too many yellows throwed...

A Ford ruined a Chevy's race. Shocker!
Mustang was doing mustang things
