  • My friends told me that planting sweet potatoes are easy and simple. So how to grow sweet potatoes plant at home? But for me I love sacks as a planter for sweet potatoes plant. It easy to find and large for enough space for sweet potatoes to grow.
    Today episode will share with you how to plant sweet potatoes in huge sacks at home. Find sacks in your area or try to ask at grocery store near at your home. Sometime they got a lot of sacks. Sacks very suitable to grow sweet potatoes for yourself. I choose two varieties of sweet potatoes such as Japanese purple sweet potatoes and of course my favorite sweet potatoes Garnet (This type of sweet potatoes is very soft and tender).
    This time I just use stem young shoots of sweet potatoes for growing in sacks. If you don't have sweet potatoes plant right now just buy sweet potatoes tubers at grocery store and try to sprout them in water first. For more info how to sprouting sweet potatoes from tubers click the link below: • Sprouting sweet potato... .
    Planting sweet potatoes when the weather is ready or planting sweet potatoes after 4 weeks last of frost. Use mix soil for your sweet potatoes for better result. Mix them with top soil, compost, rice husk and add amendment like dolomite, rock phosphate and organic fertilizer. Plant young shoots stem of your sweet potatoes about 4 inches in dirt and don't forget to water well. For your info if you wanna plant sweet potatoes in sacks make sure that you water it enough. After 2 weeks later it will start to grow.

      This method of planting sweet potatoes is very popular among Southeast Asia countries especially Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Well... it depend on the varieties. For the types of sweet potatoes in this video you can harvest it after 4 months in the ground.

    Good idea! Here I will have to keep them in my Green House though. The critters will eat the leaves. And I'd let them grow longer till November here so they will get larger. Just harvest most of the leaves to put in salads in September so the plant will grow bigger sweet potatoes.

    Wow! That’s awesome! Thank you for posting this. I’m going to try this. I had wondered if you could grow directly from a cutting like this, sort of how you can with tomatoes, instead of the traditional way of growing from sweet potato slips. This is great information to know. I can’t wait to try myself! Thanks again.

    Hi love to watch yr channel.How do you know when to harvest your sweet potators?

    • @CarlzJafran
      @CarlzJafran  2 роки тому +2

      Hello there! some sign you can look at it before harvest your sweet potatoes plants. First write date when you plant your sweet potatoes so you don't forget to harvest soon. Usually sweet potatoes can harvest after 4 months to 5 months in the ground. So just calculate the day from planting until 4 or 5 months. But some varieties of sweet potatoes can harvest only 3 months in the ground especially the hybrid one.
      Second you can look at the leaves. When leaves below are turn to yellow that is sign that your sweet potatoes are ready to harvest.
      Hope it help... Happy gardening... cheers

    Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as a niche and within it a lamp: the lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a star Durriyyun, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow forth, though no fire touched it.
    The exact translation of the saying is, “I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
