I've lost count of how often my eyes have seen this superb documentary, its six parts. Each and every one of them superb. It makes me dream and transports me to the historical past. Its silence enhances the mysterious and dream-like qualities of it. No superfluous and unnecessary narratives which only harm the enchantment of the place. The absence of crowds also contributes to the appreciation and understanding of the place, the times, culture and history of Pompeii and the Roman times. ROMA AETERNA EGO TE AMO !
I am working on a full Pompeii walk right now. I never posted part 7 because I had a corrupt file. I finally got that problem fixed. So I'll be posting a pretty long video of all of Pompeii. There is still a lot more to see. .....and I've improved my editing a bit so it will be a much better video.
This series is quite splendid. Just the right amount of subtitling and no pseudo-music in the background. So much more is now open to the public than when I visited long ago. Thank you very much indeed
Hey Dave, Thanks for watching! Would you rather see one long video that you go back to multiple times or is it better to have a series of short videos. I still have several more to make of Pompeii. The full walk is about 3.5 hours.
Whatever is easier for you, it's all good and thanks again
Breaking it up is a good idea.@@ProWalks
I visited Pompeii earlier this week. Temps were well over 33 and it was full of tourists, so we didn't stay long enough to see everything. We also didn't have a guide. Your series filled in the gaps and showed me things I missed, thanks a lot!
Yeah, Pompeii is tough to visit in the heat....especially with lots of people. Hope you enjoyed it. Where to next?
Too many other people would ruin it for me!
Just watched all your videos of Pompeii...loved them..just like being there. Was in Pompeii 40 years ago and so much more has been excavated than what I was able to see...Splendid!! Thank you very much!
Hey Carole, I know this is super late...but thank you! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I really enjoy your Pompeii virtual walks. To me, this is one of the great features of the internet, that this kind of thing can be created and shared. Thank you!
Hey Patrick, glad you enjoyed it. I am working on a complete walk of Pompeii right now. Hopefully it will be up soon. I meant to have parts 7-10, but I had problems with a couple video files being corrupted. I think I finally got the problem fixed.
A dream of mine one day to be able to know ... Amazing Pompeii!😍💪🇮🇹
Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
As I will probably never be able to see this in person. you have my utmost gratitude for a magnificent walking tour. Thank you!
I haven't the words to thank you for this. I have been fascinated with Pompeii since I first heard of it as a child. I still hope someday to see it for myself, but if not, you have gone a long way to satisfying a life-long dream. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you for posting this. As a person who is wheelchair bound, I would have never got to go on this tour. Everything was just simply fascinating.
Thanks! No..Pompeii is definitely not wheelchair friendly. I hope to post up part 7 soon.
Really appreciate these tours. Was in Italy a little while ago and wasn't able to do everything. Great job, no talking is a plus. Grazie mille!
Thoroughly enjoyed this series. Thanks!
I am From Syria.. and this city has always been interesting to me.. so Thank you my friend
Really well done. Thank you very much for this wonderful visit.
Vraiment bien fait. Merci beaucoup pour cette merveilleuse visite.
Ciao, you're very welcome. Thanks for watching. I hope to get part 7 out soon.
Thank you so much for all your videos! I'm of italian descent and a trip to Italy with my husband, is the treat we are going to give ourselves, when we retire. Pompeii is on our list of places to visit. These treasures are best enjoyed with no talk and no music.
Thank you so much for that as well!! VERY WELL DONE!❤
Love it! Love it! Love it! Thank you for doing these walks... my dream is to go to Pompeii one day..this just gives me one step further seeing the beautiful city it once was. 😊
Hey tanb8, yeah I think Pompeii was the first place we visited when we moved here and I have been there many times since. It is really a great and interesting place, especially if you have a little context on what you're seeing. I have a few more Pompeii videos to make but I think I am just going to make one 2-3 hour video instead 3 or 4 more 20 minute videos. Thanks for watching!
ProWalks Hey! Thanks for your reply 😀 I just love watching your vids..when my boys go to bed I turn on my large smart TV and play the Pompeii walks! And pretend I’m there! Haha! I also love how you put the certain ‘places’ into context. Explaining what exactly your looking at. I told my husband that when I do finally go there, I will probably start to annoy him because I WILL be taking my time looking around and looking at all the fine details..Your lucky to live there, and I bet you do visit the site quite a lot..I know I would 😁 yeah longer vids would be awesome! Please do that!!!.
Also, on your next walk, could you get a real close up of some of the petrified wooden beams if you can..that would be awesome! Thanks so much! Your my number 1 fan! Haha 🤣
Tania
Thank You so much.It has always been a dream of mine to visit this city. But not all dreams come true. You did a wonderful job Thank You again.
Hey, you're welcome. I'm glad you were able to explore via UA-cam. :) my hope is that my videos feel more like you are there instead of watching someone else explore.
I felt like I was walking around Pompeii myself - marvelous videos!!@@ProWalks
Thanks!
Hope you visit it,I visited it in February 24,2020
@@playgroundboy907 I am saving up the money. Hope to visit next year.
Thank you! Thank you! It was a true delight watching this series.
Thank you for producing this awesome series. I still hope to make it there someday. At least I felt like I was for a moment with these videos. Thank you again.
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to walk around in the heat and film so carefully ! We have just visited Pompeii last week, and it was very busy, so lovely to watch this and experience it with you when it was so peaceful and no crowds. You showed a lot of the bits that we didn't see with our guide, although she was very informative and knowledgeable ( thank you Rosella ! ) She also pointed out the phallus symbols - to tell visiting sailors where brothels were, and pointed out the palm shaped indentations on the sides of the water fountains from countless hands placed there whilst leaning to get a drink. The wall niches in the changing rooms were for their clothes, and the narrow grooves in the ground at the entrance to the buildings were for gates to slide along. Magical place, you need plenty of time to experience it all that's for sure !
What a joy for me to see this. I will never get to go there in person; this is the next best thing. I've had an interest in this place since childhood. Thanks so much.
You're very welcome!
I've been there 14years ago join the tour .but somehow your video is more interesting. I watched it more than once and I find it very fascinating. Thank you very much. ALOHA from Hawaii 🌺
What a start to 2018 with another great video ...... thank you for that walk again I love every part of the Pompeii ( beauty , fantastic ) ..... all the best in 2018 with another videos ..... cheers
Thanks Zbigniew Chodor! I have big plans for Prowalks this year. I hope to get a variety of walking videos up.
I'll probably never get the chance to see this in person thanks! Had no idea how extensive these ruins were feels a little like time travel.
Thank you for these wonderful videos. I just made a donation via Paypal because I'm grateful for being able to see the many, many buildings and roads up close, trying to imagine what life was like back then. Many thanks!
Wow, thank you for that donation. I really appreciate that! It is very helpful and encouraging. I have a couple more hours of Pompeii videos to post up. It is just taking a while to get all the captions finished. I have a video of Amalfi that will be up tomorrow. Thanks for watching and thank you again for support my channel! Let me know if there is any place here in Italy that you would like to see.
Thank you so much for sharing with us this amazing series!
Hey, glad you enjoyed it. I have a new Pompeii walk posted up that is a whole 5 hour tour of the park.
Many thanks for wonderful videos
Wonderful tour. Thank you for allowing me a chance to see the ruins. I like the presentation with quietness and some information when needed. I had questions about the way fresh water was supplied to the city but I can look that up myself. Thank you again.
I have a new Pompeii walk posted by the way. I have more information in that video..but in short, there was an aqueduct that brought water in to a water house at the highest point in the city. From there, three large pipes spread out and supplied the water towers which then supplied the fountains, baths and some private homes.
@@ProWalks Thank you so much for letting me know. I wondered about an aqueduct but had no information. Again, Thank you.
Another excellent video!!!
Thanks to the one who make this video. I feel like I am doing the walk
Hey, that's great to hear. I have a new Pompeii 2020 walk that I posted up that shows the rest of Pompeii. Thanks for watching. ua-cam.com/video/sUYJ8LbF1Ys/v-deo.html
Just one word. Incredible. Thanks a lot.
Thank you very much for this. I didn't get a chance to visit Pompeii when I was in Italy so this was fascinating!
Gratitudes
Thx for the visit , it's like i was there 🙃
fantastic video thank you
Muchas gracias por las visitas virtuales son muy enriquecedoras para nuestro conocimiento
Che spettacolo! Grazie per il video
I'm really enjoying all your videos! Thank you so much!
Hey, you're welcome. I have more Pompeii videos to post up but I have got a little distracted with all the other places I've walked. Another 4 or 5 Pompeii videos will be up in the near future.
Whoohoo! Hubby and I are going to Italy this year, God willing, for our 30th anniversary. And Pompeii has long since been top on my list of must-sees!
That's great. Pompeii is great to wander around and explore, but without a plan it's easy to miss a lot. Let me know if you'd like a walking map.
Thanks for this video, always be fascinated with Pompeii, I think this is the closest I'll get. Much appreciated 🤗
I have a few other videos of Pompeii on my channel if you are interested. Glad you enjoyed this one. Thanks for watching.
Merci merci ! splendide
Thank u, just amazing !
Great video...
i subcribed! thanks for all you have done.
Nice work!
Thanks!
Well these people were very civilized and well aware about every thing
Big Thanks Pompeii looked Awfully , Beautiful Building there Done .
So simpel yet so magnifik 👌
Brilliant
When you went into Stabian baths, woman on Russian said that baths near Forum were more beautiful, another - let's go and watch! 😉
phallus dei....thank you man!
Hey, glad you liked it. Maybe I went a little overboard pointing all those things out...but they are kind of hidden and tourists are always pointing them out when they find one. :)
LOL How about the phallus at the bakery; representing perhaps the "staff" of life or "a bun in the oven"! Hee, hee.
Another great walkthroughs.
One of my biggest concerns is... How accessable these areas are and afraid that people might vandalized the place are ruin anything? It makes me cringe seeing all these people walk and feel the whole place should be sealed with bullet proof glass.. lol I know, I know impossible. Just feel like it's so vulnerable.
7:08 lmao 🤣 what did they sell there
The brown plate on top of the door entrance, are made of stone or bronze? I have seen them in almost every house door, so they must be original. They are so shinny.
Well shot and well documented. A little bit too much obsession with all the cocks (searching for, zooming in, circling, pointing, ogling) though. But the video series really made the lesser known areas of Pompeii accessible to everyone. Thanks for your work.
Thanks. Yeah...my sister told me the same thing. :) Looking back, probably not the best idea. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching.
I disagree, Jacob and PW. The folks living here then obviously had them on the minds and in their culture, else why would there be a penis on the wall of more or less every corner? Nowadays, we have house numbers or mailboxes in front of our homes, but the people in Pompeii had a stone penis?? To live as a Roman in Pompeii apparently means being preoccupied with penises, LOL. I appreciated the insight...however unintended...to the insights of the people of the city.

Thanks to your videos I am going to Pompeii, Amalfi, Rome, possible Milan and more! Thank you for making a superb video! I would like to know the name of the introductory music please. Many blessings!
Hey, that's great to hear! If you have any questions about your trip just let me know. I'd be glad to help out. The music is just some royalty free music I found on Motionarray.com. It is calle Beautiful Inspiring Piano. Thanks for watching!
ProWalks thank you so much!!!
ProWalks
hi Prowalks, as a matter of fact I may need your help with this trip; of course some guidance I mean. I don’t want to be specific here in a public site; is there a way to send you my email please?
Thank you!
Hi Marcela, I can give you a little guidance on your trip for sure. You can reach me at travel@prowalks.com
Good
Did anyone say when they are going to excavate the rest of Region V? Also, where is the amphitheater? I thought it had been excavated. Thanks for some great videos.
Alright....you've convinced me. I have a couple more hours of Pompeii video to edit but it keeps getting put on the back burner. The amphitheater is coming up. Let me ask you this....do you think I should continue to post up shorter 20 minute sections of the walk or just one 3 hour video of Pompeii? Thanks.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work. Best videos of Pompeii I have seen. I think 20 minute segments are good. I for one, don't have the attention span or the time to watch a 3 hour video so I would have to watch it in segments anyway. You picked a great time of year to go there. No crowds. November or December. So that is when I plan to go there if I can. I was there once in June and did not see 1% of what you are showing. I made the mistake of going with a tour group so they limited us to a couple of hours. Big mistake.
I was looking forward to the amphitheater. This is amazing coverage. You really done a great job. Im officially hooked to your videos.
@@ProWalks i like these 20min parts.
Hey! Are you going to do any more walks at Pompeii? You mentioned ages ago you would do a 2-3 hr walk?. All the best
Tania 😊
Hi tanb8, I really do appreciate the reminder. :) Yes, I started working on it...and then got some kind of a red-screen error on Premiere that I never figured out so I put it on the back burner again. I'm sorry for the delay. I've updated Premiere since then though so I'll see if its fixed. I hope all is well.
@@ProWalks Hey!! You remember me Haha! Oh that's a shame 🤔 well at least you gave it a go. Hopefully next time it all works out?. I'll give you a friendly reminder here and there to try again haha!. I Still enjoy watching your vids ☺ I just watched another one of your Pompeii clips...still so fascinating. Do you still live there?
Hope all is well for you and the family 😊
@@tanb8 I am finally getting it done. :) I fixed the files and am working on it now.
@@tanb8 And yes, my family and I still live here. I was thinking of going to Pompeii tomorrow to get some final footage for this full walk I am going to post.
@@ProWalks awesome! So looking forward to it! I still love watching your walks.. my fav is still your Pompeii walks. Enjoy! 😁
I'm from India and this city has all ways interesting to me think you
Hi. Why those big stones were in the middle of the streets? Would it be to avoid chariots?
Hey, I think those stones mainly acted liked crosswalks, as a way to cross the street without having to step in the muck or water.
Why was the penis so relevant in all those structures? Was it just a culture thing. I was looking for Pompeii and your video popped up. Binging them all. Great series.
太阳斜射,光线不充足,为什么不在中午12点-3点这个时间段拍摄?
Hah ! Had to stop a bit and check the tourist babe out. 3:20
Pool 13x 8x ÷ = 1,6 gold ratio, which means that, the Pompeii people know how to use the math and apply for architecture also, or this number is just coincidence, someone could explain it.
Isso é um labirinto
4:28, what is it? EXKQV??
EX.K.QUI stands for Ex Kalendis Quictilibus which means “From the first day of July”.
It has something to do with when the pavement was laid which was sometime before 44 BC.
Were the circled objects phallic symbols? You could have had a few words to describe them.
Not sure which objects you are referring too but I think I talk about them more in my newer walk of Pompeii.
@@ProWalks Thank you for the inspiring tour of pompeii. The first symbol or form you circled was on a corner in aa block formation. The next was a arch keystone of a very large oven. I should go again and track the numbers. but circles do occur at these points. The first at the plane looclike a basic Phallic with scrotum aiming in t he direction of the street traffic. A direction sign maybe fit for Pompeii. With the sun shining and the green mosses piercing that massive brick work, I got to go there, my bucket list as well as Herculanium. Thank You.
Queria muito fer a.cozinha da casa deles
this is a very tragic place and ill fated city and people, every thing and there dreams and desires burns in one night, really i am very interesting to see still more on pompie, what happened to vesuvias after tragedy, again it was burst or closed, bursted to burn city and people at that time only ?, bad time to whole city and people, they have enjoyed enough in their time. but by seeing this ruined [place teared dropped .
20:42 😿
7:09 😂
LASTIMA QUE NOTIENE SUBTITULO EN ESPAÑOL 😟
Why is it empty ,where’s the tourists, when I went in February,2020 it was full of tourists .
Watching this Pompeii series I've noticed two things. You would have to be really sure footed to walk those uneven streets and they were obsessed with the penis. Lol. Absolutely love your videos. Thank you!
Hi Liz, yes you are right on both. :) Thanks for watching!
A nice buth
And how many a city did We destroy while it was committing wrong - so it is [now] fallen into ruin - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace. (Al Qur'an surah Al haj chapter 22)
Yes i was thinking the same thing. Its been mentioned in the quraan about such places.
Men get lesson from the ruins. God's punishment will come towards me Insha Allah.
theres no god in this world.
The noise of your walking is quite distracting.
