Rest in peace Jack. I never knew you but your compositions and especially this album came at a challenging time in my life and helped me so much. I feel weird writing this knowing you will never read it but I feel you gave me so much and I have never gave anything in return. If by any chances Jonas see this, thank you man for being a part of this masterpiece. Hope you are doing fine with all that have been going on recently.
It’s because the world is not ready for something this epic to be released to the masses. It’s like project Blue Book. I guess the secret is out. Cheers
Because the world is so over saturated with bands, even great ones get lost in the noise. It’s more of chance of being discovered by a controlling force and given the opportunity to excel in the world that’s handed forwards.
How tf r u guys not huge?!?!?! I havent the words. U guys r giants amongst men. So many cookie cutter metal bands r massive, for what. U guys deserve so much more.
love how the vocalist transitions from epic spoken verses to guttural screams, it makes me feel like I'm shouting at the gods from the top of a mountain, unreal record best this year easy.
There is truly no example of a Magnum Opus more pure than this. This album is far beyond what words can describe. This album will be held within regards no less than godly.
This album is a masterpiece indeed, but there are many other examples out there. Metropolis pt 2 imediatelly comes to mind as well as does Still Life or Lateralus, could list many more.
Check out Adjy's the Idyll Opus similar in how lyrically ambitious it is. Not metal though, more folk and midwestern emo I guess you could say. Really reccomend if the lyrics are one of the reasons you enjoy this album.
You can say a lot about Spotify, but when they recommended the song "Stone and Silver Part I - The Mountains of Man" to me, I knew I had discovered something truly legendary. *This is musical perfection.*
The part where Ariel mocks the pilgrim is probably my favorite part. I get goosebumps whenever I hear her say "Are you a man? Are you a mouse? Or are you but a foolish child whose come to cry out in the middle of the night? Or is it that you are divine? Born to live and born to die as the waxing and the waning of the tides? Have you come to cry? Have you come to revel in the imposition of your exile? Tell me, Pilgrim, what is it that you seek? Because it's all so simple. Can't you see?" The anger, the frustration, the buildup, only to have such a simple question be the answer to the whole job lot. The music here is brilliant, but the lyrics and the story is what drives it over the top and makes it something more than just another metal album.
It's not just the lyrics and story, but Gareth and guest's full bodied commitment to the performance that totally sells this album. Masterpiece in concept album vocals.
Gareth. Jonas. Jack. If any of you are reading this I would like you to know that your music inspired a significant turning point in my life. I was trapped in the most terrifying and torpid mental state of my life thus far when I first came across your project. No piece of music before The Man With No Face had ever conveyed what it was like to be inside my head. I finally wasn't alone. This album was and always will be the singular most impactful event of my life in more ways than I'm willing to mention, especially in a silly lil youtube comment. I'm going to go ahead and thank each of you as sincerely as I can as you are all individually more of a person than I could ever hope to be. Thank you for collectively making my life just so much more positive. I wish you all the very best in your future endeavours and I'll do my best to support each of you in your (hopefully long-lived) musical and artistic journeys. (p.s. sorry if this isn't very cohesive it's an emotional mess lmao)
Musica Masonica kinda surprised you still read these...love the album though. Kinda new to deathcore, all I had heard before this was suicide silence and fit for an autopsy. Love how you guys made it glow between soft spoken word and balls to the wall deathcore and everything in between

Can't believe I've been listening to this album for 5 years now. I'm not in the same place i was back then, but I'm glad this has been able to come along with me.
This is the best album I’ve ever listened too. I found it earlier this year and I’ve listened to it all the way through 45 times according to my Apple Music replay.
Me too, man. It is too bad so many people just listen to shitty pop and never go deeper into meanings or story or emotion. Just meaningless 3 minute rackets about "the club".
You're referring to kids, no one I know actively seeks out and listens to top-40 music, they all just like their own stuff - whether it be LedZep, Beatles, Prince, Meatloaf, Crystal Castles - labelling everyone who doesn't listen to metal as 'shitty-pop listeners with no expansive taste', is as tired a trope as 'everyone who listens to heavy metal being bearded, overweight and playing Dungeons and Dragons in their Mums Basement'. Metal is not for everyone, some people simply don't enjoy hearing screaming, overdriven guitar riffs and blast-beats. While I incorporate a 'no-genre' policy, and will listen to just about any musical style - there is certainly a lot of metal I dislike, 'Slice the Cake' are different because there is purpose and art to it but I can totally understand why some people would instantly not enjoy it's full-frontal Sonic assault. +Dan M There are loads of people that only listen to the top 40 radio or top hits spotify playlists. You are just fortunate to know people who care about music.
I'm a relatively recent discoverer of this band and album. It was just through happenstance, seeing it mentioned in some random comment on a random article from a random metal music blog. I'll forever be grateful for this discovery though, because this album is exactly what I i needed for the point of life that I am currently at. It's hard for me to put in to words how this album has made me feel. After just one listen, I knew that I'd just listened to a masterpiece. In a fair world, this band would have sold millions of records and be headlining the biggest venues and festivals. It breaks my heart that I'll never be able to see StC live, but I'm just grateful the they were able stay together long enough to birth this very, very special album. That being said, all of the music that they put out is excellent. But, this is their magnum opus, and one of the most slept on and overlooked albums of the decade. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any new music that any of the guys are involved in, as well as keeping my fingers crossed that they will someday reunite. Thank you again for this masterful piece of art.
with all the negativity and criticism in the metal community lately, seeing such an absolutely overwhelming mass of support for an album that damn well deserved it is heartwarming ❤️
All I have to say is thank you. Thank you for such a poetic masterpiece. The first time I actually felt and listened to this album was at work, and several times I had to walk outside because of the deep emotional feeling the words and instrumentals gave me. This is a album from the fucking Gods. Not matter what, I support this godly band till the day I die.
I've already listened to the full album 7 times since yesterday. Probably one of the best albums ever made, in my opinion. This is amazing, everything, from the instruments to the perfect vocals and awesome lyrics, I love this guy's style of vocals. Definitely in my top 3 of 2016, without a damn doubt.
Absolutely one of my favorite albums of all time. I don't even know how many times I've listened to it and yet it still keeps getting better. The Lantern gives me chills every time!!
I can't believe how fantastic this album is. The songwriting and lyrics are nearly without measure. Drums, bass, leads, rhythm, and vocals are unbelievable. The overall delivery of the music is ridiculously well done. I've been a fan since I heard The Man With No Face a few years back, and this album....it's already of my favorites. I only wish that the band members didn't go their separate ways. Could've had a much brighter and longer lasting legacy. Sincerely, A diehard fan and admirer.
Album of the decade? Album of the history of music I'd say. Been listening to this banger for about 2 years now, never ceases to amaze me every single damn time.
It's that time again. I arrive home late. Drunk as piss. Girlfriend is pissed. I kick my feet up on my desk. Put my head phones on. Press play and listen to my favorite album. Then I comment exactly what I am doing because I am drunk and enjoying myself. I've probably bought this album three times. I still like to listen to it on youtube though.
i find this album is so astonishingly good i cant really put it into words. it is quite possibly the best metal album i have ever heard. i've never heard anything with the depth of content; never listened to an album that is at once crushing, uplifting, dire and inspirational; never experienced such an absolutely glorious musical journey. amazing work
Haven't been into anything this heavy lately due to the transitional period in my life. But I always find myself listening to this GOAT album start to finish at least once a month. It is a nice reminder that your amazing work does not need to be known by everyone to be amazing. This 1 hour long experience is surely unique, especially when the Mountains of Man kicks in...
+Johnny Danger Definitely, I bought it via Band Camp the second it came out, I am still listening to it in order to truly get the whole effect of this album... which is amazing and getting better with each listen!
+Johnny Danger Individually the songs are great, but in order to understand how great the album is you have to listen to it in full. So beautiful and powerful.
This album is so good, my chest hair grew chest hair, gained its own personality, and started a tribute band. \m/ This is probably the best album I've ever heard.
Truly thank you. Thank you for restoring faith that there are still actual artists out here making music. You have actually earned the right to be called an artist. The best album ever made. StC is not my all-time favorite band overall, but it would take a miracle for this to ever drop out of the #1 album spot in my heart
The magic of metal theses days... bands release masterpieces, and then either change lineup or just give up, it kills me all the wasted potential everytime... and here you have a timeless masterpiece, and no band To play it..
This is mt favorite and the greatest album of all time by far. Every part. Every instrument, the way they work together, the lyricism, the vocals, the structure - everything. I could go on and on for days (And I'm not exaggerating) talking about why this is the greatest album of all time, and I can't thank you enough, STC, for gifting the world this absolutely flawless masterpiece. Just heard about the remaster, so I went to comment on this. Can't wait to listen to it. It's heartbreaking you won't be back after all. Also, what will you, Jonas and Jack work on? You said you'll move on to a different project without Gaia. What project is that?
How have I seriously never heard of this band? This could shape up to be one of my favorite albums and I know that having only listened through one. Goddamn, bravo..
By far one of the greatest pieces of music I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to.. front to back , every time . The journey is a must for me . Thank you for this.
Relistening through this album again a year later and the same feelings are still there. Such a fucking good album. No doubt it will stand the test of time
Westward Bound Part II is one of the most unrelenting, beautifully brutal pieces of music I've been blessed enough to have ravage my earholes. The bass in that song, especially at 35:47 is just so amazing.
I got part 1 of the exile automatically recommended to me on spotify and absolutely fell in love with it and paused my playlist to listen to the whole album
The first song randomly appeared on my spotify discover weekly yesterday and THANK GOD. It has been ages since I was this blown away by an album or band. HOLY SHIT. I am grieved to find that this group has disbanded because I legitimately long for more music like this.
I’ve stopped listening to this type of music, but I always wanna back to this album, this is a masterpiece,u guys need to reunite and keep making music,I have never experienced this type of emotions before this album, thank you, this is a timeless classic
This is such an amazingly put together album. I'm enjoying every bit of it. The up, the downs, the clean vocals, the screams. Very very very well done guys!
Drunk again. Just checking in. Making sure this album still rocks. It still does. Have a good night everyone.

The best album ever made. StC is not my all-time favorite band overall, but it would take a miracle for this to ever drop out of the #1 album spot in my heart
5 years going strong bb!! I pass this on to all of my friends.
EVERYONE SHARE THIS AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! THIS BAND NEEDS TO BE NOTICED BY EVERYONE. ABSOLUTE ART!
I love finding amazing bands on my own, especially material like this. Hits different.
The greatest release of 2016 imo! It shold have more views than any other band!
This and The Dear Hunters Act 5, 2016 has been so good to me.
I have listened to this many, many times. Thank you.
My goodness, how come I've NEVER HEARD of this band and album before???? This is more solid than many "best albums" in this genre.
Discovered this a couple of months ago. Where have you guys been all my life... This album is all beautiful
Three years. Three fantastic years of listening to this non stop. Cheers, fellas.
Album of the year!
This album is the album i'd bring on a desert island

Relistening through this album again a year later and the same feelings are still there. Such a fucking good album. No doubt it will stand the test of time
This is a damn masterpiece, a true sonic journey that I still can't get enough of.

Damn..This is divine.Best of 2016 for sure.
Doing my taxes while listening to Odyssey to the West in the background.
Taxes are now awesome 👍
Westward Bound Part II is one of the most unrelenting, beautifully brutal pieces of music I've been blessed enough to have ravage my earholes. The bass in that song, especially at 35:47 is just so amazing.
26:14 why does that chord cut so deep
This is THE BEST album of all time
I think that was the greatest intro ever. First time hearing this band and wow...very good
This is such an amazingly put together album. I'm enjoying every bit of it. The up, the downs, the clean vocals, the screams. Very very very well done guys!
