by far my favorite comic channel. I checked out others, but variant has become my go to. excellent blend of comic information, host enthusiasm and humor.
This was a good one! keep up the history of (material) videos because a lot of these characters deal with them in their lore/backstory's so if we understand the material better we get a more encompassing vision of the character.
+McKnighty Theory is that during the process of the Adamantium being injected in his body Wolverine gritted his teeth so hard that they broke, but only regenerated after the cooling process of the metal began.
+Frankie Nguyen Vibranium is a metal found only in Wakanda, it is extremely durable, (Nothing compared to adamantium) the main use of it is that it can absorb any vibration hence, the name and, produces a light purple, glow. some villans, like Klaw, use vibranium as sonic weapons. Guards, and Black Panther use it for armor, and weapons
+Frankie Nguyen one thing is Adamantium is man made while Vibranium is a material that was within an asteroid that struck Wakanda in the past, thus is technically alien/offworld in origin.
There is at least one other time some one broke off one of Wolverine's claws. In Magik (Illyana and Storm Limited Series)1983-1984, S'ym broke off one of the claws from the time lines Wolverine and used it as a tooth pick.....
How could he forget about Lady Deathstrike's talons. Not to mention X-23 & Daken also have adamantium within them as well (perhaps not as much as Wolverine). Bullseye also has an adamantium spine. I believe Sabretooth had adamantium placed within him by Apocalypse to fight Wolverine, but it was removed when he lost. I believe trace amounts still remain, slightly increasing his durability & cutting potential of his claws/fangs. Speaking of Sabretooth, he's one of my top 5 fav X-Villains. He use to own Wolverine in past battles, but now easily loses. His sheer savagery, enhanced strength & peak human agility easily countered the advantage Wolverine's adamantium gave him. Wolverine would narrowly escape & only survive because of his healing factor. Coincidentally, Sabretooth's healing factor was superior to Wolverine's back then (because it was hindered by adamantium), which made him even deadlier. However, this all changed when Wolverine lost his adamantium & went thru a secondary mutation of sorts, which greatly enhanced his healing factor. So when he got the adamantium back, his healing factor had evolved to the point where it was on par with Sabretooth's. Sabretooth was suppose to be almost as strong as Beast, with somewhat less agility but a better healing factor, heightened senses, powerful claws & savage combat skills. This made his a boss when facing almost any foe, but now he's easily bested by virtually anyone he takes on. Sabretooth use to be extremely cunning, but now he's more or less played off as a total idiot, who relies too much on his healing factor.
Wait when did Sabertooth get Adamantium ??? Also @VariantComics can you please explain how the hell Caps shield can bounce off stuff if vibradium is designed to absorb vibrations such as bouncing off a surface.
+Forest because originally it had adamantium in it (now FOX i think owns the rights to it and the x-men) so originally I guess it acted in a way that let it absorb hits but also bounce of things (however since FOX has the right they had to make it so in the movie its purely vibranium
adjrv vrjda So OG had adamantium which could explain it but how does the new one the FOX one or Disney one which ever one you wanna call it bounce then if it's pure vibradium.
***** because they didn't want to change the actual properties but could only make it out of only vibranium so they just glossed over that and left it without explanation because they didn't want to change it up so much
+Forest I may be wrong, but I think the vibranium in the cinematic universe reflects vibration and kinetic force, rather than absorbing. It allows the shield to ricochet multiple times without losing momentum. It also explains the outward destruction that occurs when Thor's shield slams down on it in the Avengers.
What about when Thor was tied up with adamantium and flexed, snapping it? I think it was Thanos that tied him up with it. Then he flexed out of it and knocked Thanos out. I think it was the "Blood and Thunder" series.
1:07 when you showed the game I thought that was the actually in the movie and thought that it had really bad cji (I haven't watched the movie in 5 years but i recently watched it again)
You could do a top of the strongest metals in comics, like adamantium, vibranium or (what I believe its the strongest of all) the amazonium (wonder woman brecelets), with history and everything we should know.
Wait, why does the U.S. government have the formula to adamantium? I thought Weapon X was a Canadian project. Aside from that, didn't Marvel change the canon so that Captain America's shield is _just_ made out of vibranium now? You know, since they aren't on very good terms with Fox regarding the whole movie rights thing? If I recall, that's why they changed Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch to Inhumans. Also, I find it funny that for such a closely guarded secret, so many things in the Marvel universe are made of adamantium.
you have to watch "deathbattle: wolverine vs. raiden", they explaine that there's another way to damage adamantium... with vibrations. also mentioned in a comic.
I was watching the sci-fi classic "Forbidden Planet" and the professor who lives on the planet with his daughter mentioned that the original Krell inhabitants of the planet made items there out of "Adamantium steel", an almost indestructible metal.
There was once a fight between an enraged Hulk & Thor in Central Park. During the fight, Thor smacked Hulk with Mjolnir, sending him flying back into an admantium statue of the Hulk that was created after he saved NY. Hulk grabbed the statue, cracking the base, ripping it out of the ground, & lifting it over his head to throw at Thor. Everyone who saw this was in utter amazement, because admantium is "indestructible." At that moment the statue was struck by Mjolnir with an extremely loud "clang," sending shockwaves out shattering all glass nearby. Hulk drops the statue & covers his ears.
Long story made short (skip to the end), Thor is knocked across the park & separated from Mjolnir. Hulk goes to pick it up. As he's struggling with it, when he finally lifts it, he discovers it's just a cane. He looks puzzled & tosses it aside. Unable to see Thor, he leaps out of Central Park, headed to parts unknown. Dr Donald Blake comes running over, grabs the cane & slams it oh the ground, becoming Thor, again. Who flies off in search of the Hulk.
would really like to see a history shadow the hedgehog or alternate versions of sonic the hedgehog. I know they are not super heroes, but they are comic characters.
thank you for the explanation :) where come these flashbacks with applying adamantium from? i didn't see this before probably. i'm not the only one who needs many technical details :D also i'll wait for the video or text where the adamantium bonding process is exactly explained, how wolverine's healing factor works, when the temperature of liquid adamantium is high enough to completely damage his brain and other body parts, so... where is this healing factor taken from? if wolverine's body stopped working...
That means in the end of Age of Ultron, Thor, Vision, and Iron Man nearly destroyed adamantium and Scarlet Witch could just rip it apart (In the train where Ultron land. She ripped out his heart with her powers).
For some reason I thought Vibranium was just the MCU's version of adimantium (since they don't own the rights to X-Men in the movie world), and had to think of something else to call adimantium. Thanks for the knowledge bomb!
I just finished catching up to volume 4 of the new52 Aquaman and I almost have all the new52 Aquaman and the others comics too! I can't wait for to get more Aquaman comics especially involving the unknow other four lost kingdoms of Atlantis! Hey variant can you do a one shot of the seven kingdoms of Atlantis, please please please you guys are great and I love comics and how you don't love one more than the other (except for Batman) so please you guys are like the only ones I know who respects Aquaman.
Here are a few mistakes: Nuclear...not nucular. A resin is a polymer based viscous substance that is semi-solid that may harden to become a stable solid. There are also natural plant resins that are similar in molecular form. A liquid state for metals or alloys such as adamantium is considered molten or more likely amorphous. Since adamantium is an alloy that did not disintegrate Wolverine's body when bonded to his skeleton., it is more likely the latter. Apocalypse harvested adamantium from Cypher to bond with Wolverine's skeleton.
I thought that I heard somewhere that Wolverine was the one that had the original adamantium and cap's shield had a mixture of vibranium and the recreated adamantium, but I might have gotten the information switched around and it might have something to do with the names
Little known fact, Bullseye's skeleton was laced with adamantium. I'm not sure how, since Bullseye doesn't have a healing factor. But his skeleton is only laced, not fully covered like Wolverine and Sabretooth was.
+What I Bought on Steam I think it was during a story where Wolverine was caught in a nuclear/atomic blast and all his unshielded soft tissue was blown away and he regenerated nearly his entire body.
I believe it was during the first civil war run when Wolverine fraught the guy responsible for killing the town. He tracked him down and they fought and buddy went nukular.
It was during Civil War I believe. Wolverine was tasked to find and kill the villain Nitro after he blew up that city in the beginning of the story. They fought and Nitro basically nuked Wolverine, leaving his skeleton. Wolvie can basically regenerate his whole body as long as there's a cell of himself left. He can't however reattach his limbs like Deadpool can.
Oh plz do a history of deadpool episode and all the deadpools as i recently discovered there is multiple coloured deadpools like deadpool is red and black but there is white and black and ect ect
by far my favorite comic channel. I checked out others, but variant has become my go to. excellent blend of comic information, host enthusiasm and humor.
This was a good one! keep up the history of (material) videos because a lot of these characters deal with them in their lore/backstory's so if we understand the material better we get a more encompassing vision of the character.
I just realized something... how come Wolverine's teeth aren't made of Adamantium?
good question lol
+McKnighty Great question, man.
Rick Flores Got a answer?
actually, i do not. But the question itself has evaded me for over 30 years
+McKnighty Theory is that during the process of the Adamantium being injected in his body Wolverine gritted his teeth so hard that they broke, but only regenerated after the cooling process of the metal began.
Do a History of Black panther and his Vibranium Uniform!
now that would be awesome
+ANIMANIA yea that would be awesome! especially since Black Panther is starring in Captian America: Civil War pt1
+Daniel Munoz Mendoza (dryestomnivore1) part 1? It isn't 2 parts
+Daniel Munoz Mendoza (dryestomnivore1)
can't wait to see black panther kick some ass :D
PENCIL BOY As far as ive seen its the first Captian America: Civil War
keep the awesome work arris you are the best
Funny that I was just thinking about this a few hours ago! LOL Can someone please compare and contrast Adamantium and Vibranium for me in detail?
Vibranum can absorb hits I think
yes, it's fake.
Adamantium is unbreakable, while vibranium is known for its durability and kinetic absorption, but can be destroyed by cosmic level entities
+Frankie Nguyen one thing is Adamantium is man made while Vibranium is a material that was within an asteroid that struck Wakanda in the past, thus is technically alien/offworld in origin.
Since she's confirmed a history of x23 would be cool, and Daken would be amazing
Arris I love your videos and I am a huge fan. I just subscribed and was wondering if you could do a history of Lobo.
Didn't mean to get off topic here just a small request.
Hi Variant Comics Channel, just want to say that your channel is really good. Having great infomation and helping out.
Can you do history of vibranium next? And also a comparison video between adamantium and vibranium?
You guys are the best comic book channel
"with the exception of other adamantium and captain America's shield" So adamantium can cut through all forms of vibranium EXCEPT cap's shield?
I'd Love to See a Video Where You Explain The Canon Problems in All of The X-Men Movies
There is at least one other time some one broke off one of Wolverine's claws. In Magik (Illyana and Storm Limited Series)1983-1984, S'ym broke off one of the claws from the time lines Wolverine and used it as a tooth pick.....
This was some nice info on Adamantium really learn something new
Almost 800,000 subscribers goodluck!

+Sergio Martinez That would be awsome!
I think he will do that but most likely around when the movie debuts
YES.
Can't wait for the movie! Too bad no Wolverine :(
+Micah Mitchell you know he will at least pop up in the movie I think he as been in every x-men film to date

How could he forget about Lady Deathstrike's talons. Not to mention X-23 & Daken also have adamantium within them as well (perhaps not as much as Wolverine).

dajolaw
I don't know cause even in the comics the shield does the whole bouncing stuff right?
Can you do an episode about Batman's Armored Suits like the HellBat Armour,Justice Buster or Insider suit?
What about when Thor was tied up with adamantium and flexed, snapping it? I think it was Thanos that tied him up with it. Then he flexed out of it and knocked Thanos out. I think it was the "Blood and Thunder" series.

since we're talking about adamantium you should do a history of the villain cyber.
I believe that Adamantium is also utilised by various Dandy Highwaymen and of course by Prince Charming.
The serpent also broke cap's shield. Dunno if that counts since the shield wasn't made out of pure Adamantium
Wait, why does the U.S. government have the formula to adamantium? I thought Weapon X was a Canadian project.

792 001 subscriber ;) you deserve it
keep up the good work man
you have to watch "deathbattle: wolverine vs. raiden", they explaine that there's another way to damage adamantium... with vibrations. also mentioned in a comic.
That is the dopest Wolverine shirt I ever seen. I've got a pretty good collection of comic t's where did you get that one?
Great video!
adamantium can also be melted by arctic vibranium as it destablizes the molecular bonds
do a video about the materials adamantium vs vibranium
I love these videos
I was watching the sci-fi classic "Forbidden Planet" and the professor who lives on the planet with his daughter mentioned that the original Krell inhabitants of the planet made items there out of "Adamantium steel", an almost indestructible metal.

Synopses: Hulk can break admantium, not just dent it, & the Donald Blake/cane, Thor/Mjolnir thing is pretty stupid. It never made any sense to me.
would really like to see a history shadow the hedgehog or alternate versions of sonic the hedgehog. I know they are not super heroes, but they are comic characters.

wait wait wait wait. Moonknights blades are made of adamantuim!? Dude that's crazy and I love it!
Nice to learn summin new about your inner workings, now if I could just remember my name...
0:34 adamantium is a failed attempt of vibranium so it cant break it. his shield is made of vibranium which is stronger than adamantium
daken (wolverines son) has a bit as well does he not? Just in his wrist blades i think or did he eventually get his whole skeleton coated?
If you could, can you do a history on Vibranium?
hi, I am new to comics. can you give me any suggestions on good comics to read? anything essential. Any good omnibuses?

Little known fact, Bullseye's skeleton was laced with adamantium. I'm not sure how, since Bullseye doesn't have a healing factor. But his skeleton is only laced, not fully covered like Wolverine and Sabretooth was.
Can you do a history of the question ?
I would be nice if you dedicate a moth or to focus in the fictional materials such as carbonadium, nth metal, or Cybertonium
Where is that Wolverine skeleton from? I need to find that comic because it's cool art and I'm really curious about the context.
+What I Bought on Steam I think it was during a story where Wolverine was caught in a nuclear/atomic blast and all his unshielded soft tissue was blown away and he regenerated nearly his entire body.
