- Carrying on with modifying the vw caddy 4 in this video I fit aftermarket pedals and shift knob to gear stick if you are British. Both modifications are cheap and fairly easy to do and dont take much time so an ideal starting point for anyone wanting to start doing things to their car.
Hope you enjoyed the video

Had a lot of people asking for the links of the items i am using so in the interests of channel transparency I have decided to set up affiliate links which means I get a % of revenue earned from items purchased when the link is clicked and turns into a purchase. I have done this in the hope the few pounds I get will help me move the channel forward.
To stay legal I have had to say that my video includes paid advertisement even though I purchased the products myself. I only share them if they are worth it, as well as including a sentence confirming they are affiliate links. These do not negatively impact the viewer in any way.

@@FreeworldOLthank you m8. I watch them all since you got the van. it gives me some good ideas 😎👍👌 keep the good work up m8
Thank you, have added the links for most the stuff now. Other stuff like the Touran carpet just need to watch out for 👍
Great vid mate! Link to pedals no longer available do you have another one? Cheers
only thing stopping me from doing this exact same with pedals and swapping the gearknob is insurance. Asin dont you have to tell most standerd insurance companies that you have done this to your VW ? Or is it Ok
I’ve told mine everything I have done. Made sure the policy allowed for what I wanted to do before I bought it and what costs would be incurred if any for the amends
@@FreeworldOL yeah sound ngl declareing mods is so painful i swear. But i mean i kinda want cover you know lol thanks tho
How do you remove the gear knob from the gaiter you skipped you showing how it was done
Where did you purchase the clip that needs to be replaced ?
Hi Olly, I’m looking to upgrade my gear knob on my mk4 Caddy, I’ve seen you ended up going for the Sparco gear knob in the end. How was the fitment? Did you have to change the OEM gaiter?
Figment great, sparko provides several different size cap type things so it’s just putting on the one that fits best and it’s perfect.
Same gaiter put a cable tie at the top on the inside to hold the material in place and give a nicer finish that the raw cut edge. Hope this makes sense
@@FreeworldOL yeah I get you, cable tie the inside of the gaiter for a better finish. Ok great - I was on the 2K Caddy forum and saw a lot of people said to cut the gear lever shorter to get a different knob to fit.
@@DrSmoothCaramel yeah, so I think trimming the length of the shaft depends on what kind of knob you choose. The one I got is fine but if you were to choose for example the one I tried originally it would hit the dashboard in 1,3 and 5 so trimming the shaft to make it shorter would allow proper fitment
Hi olly sorry to bother you bro . The excillrator pedal when you've slid it on do you just bend the tabs on the right-side round it ? Cheers bro
No bother. Yeah buddy, just bent all the tabs around, secured it perfectly
Ok no worries I'll have a go tomorrow thank you bro cheers. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas stay safe can't wait to see what you come up with next on your van it's all coming along nice bro and keep up the good videos they really help 😎👍👌👊
Cheers buddy, I think I may have used some pliers to bend it round with a bit of cloth over the front surface.
Just waiting on my a pillars coming back currently but hoping to get the next video out for Christmas.
Hope you and your family have a good time also and manage to make the most out of a difficult situation. 🎉 👍
