- It’s weigh-in day at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rescue Center. Many of the young orphans at the orangutan jungle school arrive here malnourished and underweight. Regular weight checks are vital for monitoring the health of the young orangutans, to ensure they are thriving.

Is there an online channel where you can watch season one for free? Only season two is available in Discovery+. It would also be nice if they make Orangutan Island and Orangutan Diary available in any of the accessible online channels.
It's on the Smithsonian channel if you get that one.

Imagine how many babys the farmers had when they started clear cutting & before all these rehab places popped up.. look how many they are still getting I bet one farmer was smuggling 2-4 a week most likely going to Russia. The farmers eyes were $$$$$ when they found out was a market for baby orangs

There are no sticks for Cinta to throw to scare mum off.
They are so bloody sweet! The way they vocaise things is lovey! But why do the caregivers hardly pick them up and hold them (rotating the caregivers around so they don't get too attached)? Children orangutans (especially the babies, less so as they get older) are almost always clutching mum (for practical reasons but also for comfort) or being hugged or stroked. I'm not trying to say that it's wrong or anything I'm genuinely curious.

Penyingkatan b inggris ga asal enak disebut kayak b indonesia, contoh: rudal (peluru kendali), kadis (kepala dinas), cipularang, dst. Lebih banyak ke penyingkatan (pemendekan) suku kata, contoh: lab, promo, fridge, dst ya termasuk orangutan jd orang.

I couldn't understand how they help and save when the animals are put in cages, this is something out of my ration.
They are taught and helped to be released onto protected land. They can't be released as babies with no survival skills
Why so many in such a small cage?
It's a night cage just for sleeping. They spend the majority of their daytime in the jungle. If you watched closely, there are tyre swings in the cages so they can choose where they want to sleep.

one good tip if they are being difficult to weigh is to weigh your self then pick up the little ones then weigh both of you together then deduct your weight thats what i do with my dog

Really need to find out who at Smithsonian running this page is OBSESSED with orangutans. They just need to make their own orangutan page so I’m not spammed with just orangutans from a place that holds MILLIONS of records and artifacts of other things.
