I like how concise she is with her tutorials. I like to watch videos even if I don’t plan to make the item right away. It is fun seeing things come together. I’m working on a Christmas quilt that I will hopefully have done before next Christmas. Thank you for sharing your experience and tips with us.
Thanks, Tammy. This looks like a great bag for gifts with beloved charm packs. I don't know about those handles; their only source of support is that 1/4-inch seam, though. I think I will add a stabilizer during the quilting process for extra strength and durability.
Happy that you enjoyed this tutorial and that it has helped you. You can add in stabilizer if you prefer. We appreciate your support and comment! - Abby
In the video we used fleece interfacing but if you are looking for something more stiffer we have a flex-foam you can shop on our website! Here is the link: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p129629/pellon-1-sided-fusible-flex-foam-20?ref=SearchAutocomplete Hope this helps! - Abby
Hi Hannah - We didn't keep record this information, but it definitely looks like the #197 stitch. #s 196 & 198 would be good substitutes, and if your Bernina doesn't have those stitches, I believe a Running Stitch #4 would work, you'd just need to play with the stitch length to give yourself the design you're looking for. Hope this helps! -Michelle
Hi Patti - We just used some Pellon Fusible Fleece: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p70912 Thanks so much for watching! We're glad this project inspires you. -Michelle

Love this tote bag, how “stiff” does the fusible fleece make the bag, what can be used to make it sturdier or stiffer?

I love your tutorial and definitely will make this bag. What size do you cut the white piecing? How much do I need for the white piecing?
We are so glad you like this project. This pattern calls for 1 and a quarter yards of white fabric. www.shabbyfabrics.com/p139019 - Abby
I have a Bernina 570. For the “wavy line” quilting, what is the stitch number and length/width setting? Thank you so much!
