you are such a fantastic teacher! Thank you for always making such clear tutorials! Both my 86 yo Mother and I have learned lots from you and we never hesitate to buy patterns that you've done a tutorial for because we know you'll help us make them! Thank you.
Just finished my second table topper and I absolutely love them. I couldn't have completed them without your video. Thank you so very much for your very clear instructions and demonstrations.
Thank you so much for the video You are a great teacher. So easy to follow. I have the pattern and the prairie pointer ..Cant wait to watch another video
@@ShabbyFabricsI'm sorry- this comment must have made no sense to you.🤦♀️ I watched and enjoyed your placemat tutorial and must have still had that open somehow when i wrote a comment on rhe Love Notions Clearwater pattern.
We don't have all of these fabrics but we do have some on our website if you'd like to check them out! www.shabbyfabrics.com/c6004/fabrics/fabrics-by-collection/halloween-whimsy?ref=SearchAutocomplete Hope this helps! 😊 - Abby
Wonderful tutorial! I am about to begin the centerpiece that is poppy print and gold, I can't wait to have it done. What type of needle did you use when sewing through all the prairie points? Do I need a special needle if I use monofilament thread?
Hi Pat - Wwould recommend a size 100/16 Super Non Stick needle for the this Table Topper. We use the same needle for Monopoly thread, but we also use the Thread Director to ensure the Monopoly doesn't "twist" off of the spool as we are stitching. Hope this helps!! -Michelle
As soon as I was about half way thru your UA-cam I had to order the kit.. I love this and can't wait to get it. My order is under the name of Vicki Tucek. Love love love this .. 😍🤩
🌺🌸 Wow! Triple wow! What a gorgeous table topper! Thanks a million for showing us how to make it!One day, for sure, I’ll make some. Do you recommend making this before making the hot pads or the other way around for a first time with this type of project? What would be easier?
We're so glad this project inspires you! We would definitely recommend a smaller project with prairie points, such as the Folded Star Hot Pad project before you try this one. Creating the Folded Star Hot Pad will help increase your skill level and comfortability with both creating prairie points and laying them out. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
Great video & instructions as always! I can't t wait to make some of these! Question- I noticed you did not have the dual feed engaged when attaching the binding. Was this on purpose or by mistake?
Hi Connie! We're so glad this project inspires you! Great catch about that dual feed not being engaged for the binding. I believe what happened was that we had to change out the presser feet during this, and we must have forgotten to re-engage it before continuing with filming. Hope this makes sense :) -Michelle
So beautiful!!!! I love it! I’ve been checking my emails and texts to multiple times a day to see if any Midnight Silhouette kits have become available …. So sad I missed that pre-sale
Yes you can press it after each row! This silicone mat is pacifically designed for use with crafting, and Jen is just using it to protect her service in this tutorial.😊 - Abby
I love this line of fabric and purchase lots when it came out. Instead of using all that glue, you could use Pellon .25" x 40 yards Fusible EZ-Steam II Tape.
I’m thinking you could use a Frixion pen or disappearing marker of some sort to draw your guide lines for the first set of prairie points instead of using the ruler. Just a thought.
Hi Susan - We find that prewashing fabric prior to sewing seems to be a personal preference. You can if you'd like. We do not wash our fabrics prior to creating our projects. -Michelle
Susan, if you spray starch iron all of your fabrics, you will find that they not only shrink some in one direction, but more importantly you will have that you have nice crisp fabric for precise cutting and when pressing those prairie points they be nice and sharp.
Hi Sylvia - You can shop Halloween Whimsy & the Point Of View kit here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/c6004/fabrics/fabrics-by-collection/halloween-whimsy -Michelle
Hi Deliabee - You can choose to do that if you're like, we just followed the pattern instructions. Sewing them down once all the points have been placed allows for more of a seamless look. Thanks for watching :) -Michelle

That mat looks like those mats you use to roll pie crust? Would those work?

Do you have a video showing the back? Love all you do!
Thanks so much for your kind words, Anita. We do not have a video or photos of the back of this project. -Michelle
@@ShabbyFabrics thanks. Mine looks awful. I gave it to the kids for a house Frisbee.
Love it! Did you mention what needle you used for all those layers?
Hi Lida - we used a 100/16 for the thick layers on this project. Make sure it's a super nonstick needle due to the glue. -Michelle

Can you press it after each row so it sticks together all right?
Yes, you can :) -Michelle
Could you make a tree skirt like this too with a hole in the center? Maybe skipping the middle?
We've never tried that, but it sounds doable. If you give it a try let us know how it goes! -Bethany

What is the best way to embellish an image like the witch or the ornaments?
We just free motion quilted around these illustrations to define them, but you can choose to quilt it however you'd like! -Michelle
