This song takes me back to 1980, when my best friend and his wife were local champion disco dancers. We used to go watch them dance, and they often times won first place or in the top three. She died of cancer about 4 years ago, and he died last month of cancer. Thinking of you, Jeff and Sue, R.I.P.
We had the honor of meeting him at Frightmare in the Falls. He is such a wonderful, friendly, and warm guy! Gives me a new appreciation for the song, honestly!!

Oh wow! I had no clue David Naughton was singing this song! In July of 1978 on the 29th, I was born into the world. I miss the innocence of the world and while I don’t remember the 70’s for obvious reasons, hearing good music like this makes me reflect on what little I do remember. God I wish we could relive the past as though it were today.
What can I Say...70s Beautiful music when all colors danced happy together. Only love and high energy Beautiful dance steps, charming, glamour, The joy of life at it's Best. R&B, Soul, Funk, Disco The most Beautiful and lovely music ever.

He made "American Werewolf in London" one if my favorite horror movies also "Hot Dog the Movie" one if my favorite skiing movies. The sitcom they made from this song was a bomb, though. About 16 years ago, I worked at a CC in Weston, CT and David's brother, Jim, famous for those Cialis commercials, brought his brother up to play golf, very down to earth, at least until the full moon appeared....
This song has a cool backstory! Back in the day, when I was a young assistant engineer working with Dino Fekaris on an album for disco legend Gloria Gaynor, he shared a great story with me. The year before Makin' It came out, Dino was living in a tiny apartment in LA. He was so determined for success that he made a sign for his wall that declared: "This coming year's gonna be my year!" His positive outlook paid off! That very phrase ended up in the song - listen closely, and you'll hear it.
