Great Video! I remember that pool at 3:21. I went this weekend and it got washed out since I visited in January 2022. There was a nice pool below the hot waterfall, which was new though and kind of made for the other one getting washed out. I remember the temperature being really nice in that lower pool though.
Thanks for the video. Good overview of the area. I grew up in Ojai so we used to go back there fairly often. It was a totally different thing in the early '70s. You used to be able to drive to the Sespe Hot springs in a 4-wheel drive vehicle - or a VW bug. It was party city with lots of people getting drunk, high and running around naked. I'm happy to see it more like a wilderness now.
Great job. We went from Middle Lyons to the City of Filmore in May 2017 going down Sespe Gorge. The gorge is incredible and very dangerous and difficult. We had to pack our equipment in dry bags 4 times and swim the creek. Our shorts all had holes in the back from sliding down the sandstone and it felt like we had no fingerprints left with lots of bruises and scraps and scratches on arms and legs. Three of the 4 backpacks were thrown out afterwards due to so many tears and deep scrapes.
it's hard to believe we used to drive all the way into those springs in the 70's and 80's huh?! We used to hard boil eggs right where the springs come out of the hillside.
If you are coming up the valley, there are several pools down lower and small side canyon before you climb the last hill to the upper pools, there is a short trail that leads up the canyon to the cooler stream coming in.

I backpacked to this area. You follow the creek and find the temp that works for you.
I'm here for the cacti
So it's 15 miles in and 15 miles back?
Yes, approximately.
Can you tell me which direction to go for the cool water to filter that you showed near the end?
