(spaded vs spaded). I also won on my yak 9p vs a spaded spitfire mk22 of an ace that had a scary chart on that plane: 22 deaths and over 200 kills (plus that time the spitfire came to me with way more energy. We know that Griffon spitfires have lost their zero like turn time but still turn way better than Yak 9s and have better roll at high speed than Yak 3. I suck a lot in RB but I enjoy myself pretty much on duels and just exploiting what my plane does better than the enemy for as long as you need til the opponent starts becoming sluggish. Of course the Yak 9u is literally a K4 with Focke-Wulf 152h roll and prop hanging, and better vertical MER. The Corsair rolls better than the Yak and has as much turn but its flaps are tougher and more effective than the Yak 9u. Verticaling and spiral climbing is the way. The Corsair may have a 3000hp engine but it weighs 8 tons. Yak 9u has 1680hp and weighs 2300 tons. But, now I fought then Metralla Roja on his Tempest Mkv and I lost all duels.

Interesting that the maneuvering energy retention, while a good point in battle, is actually a bad thing when 1 vs 1. I actually had the opportunity in a match to 1 v 1 a 109 G-2 in an XP-55 (same energy state, coming at each other). While I'm not sure whether the XP or the 109 maneuvered better, the ultra-UFO MER of the XP-55 actually played to my disadvantage since the 109 could easily slot in on my six. It was only when the 109 finally overshot and took it up into the vertical that the extremely good flying characteristics of the XP-55 came into play.
Its too late to comment i think. But u need to play with ur throttle sometimes. For example in that second fight if u had closed ur throttle when u were above him or generaly when u are on the top and want to reverse into enemy's turn u probably would have a chance for snapshot.
It's never too late ;). F4U's low speed maneuverability is better than the Tempest's though. It might have been my best chance, but it would offer a negligible chance at victory imo.
@@AdamTheEnginerd there were a few occasions where the tempest's better manouver energy retention put him on your 6, though some of those could have probably been reversed if you used the guns as airbrakes, just my 2 cents
Thing is the Tempest has better energy retention, and worse everything else. If you slow down behind him, yes you’re behind him but that’s you’re only advantage. The tables could not only be turned in a millisecond but could probably be picked up and thrown into the engine of Adam’s tempest. All Dogeness would’ve had to do was raise the nose a little after that point as they were both very near stall speeds and Adam would’ve probably been dead. He was dead either way basically. The speed was too similar for him to break off and run effectively if you ask me and the situation was just against him. Plus dogeness was flying and he’s clearly on Adam’s level.

Would you say the f4u4b is better or the f8f1b (excluding br)? It seems to me (mostly from facing them, I don't like flying either aircraft very much), that the bearcat is better in most categories: speed, climb, turn, with the f4u4b only really having better MER.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Okay, two things. 1. When you say turns better, do you mean instantaneous or sustained? 2. In random battles, what advantages do you think the f4u4b holds over the bearcat that would make it a better deal? (I have seen many people say that the f4u4b is better, but I don't really see why.)

@@AdamTheEnginerd I swear dude... between a K4 and a Spitfire... You should take it out in your next vid against some higher br vehicle, really good energy retention+ turn rate when you use tail control and flaps, and landing flaps at 260km/h
Yeah I tried the tempest and well... I see no point in using it over the other allied aircraft at 5.7. The F4U-4B, Spitfire LF MkIX and F MkXIVe,c, MkXVIIIe, Yak-9UT are all better in my honest opinion, all of which have a couple crucial things that I consider very important, Good climb, and good high speed handling. While the Yak-9 does have a very low rip speed by comparison, it still suffers minimal control stiffening at 650kmh indicated, unlike the Tempest which kinda gives up, which is a common theme all the way from the first typhoon and rather irritating. The spitfires suffer very little at those speeds, and the 4B loses a bit of rudder authority, which isn't the biggest deal unless you're trying to aim, but even then its not that bad. Unless they change its control stiffening, climb, and high alt performance, its honestly a 5.3 aircraft in my book and a rather inflexible one at that, kinda like an Fw190.
The F4U4B is indeed a better Tempest Mk V in nearly every category. But I do disagree with Yak9UT, I think that's one of the worst 5.7 fighters. That should be 5.3 at best. Mk V could perhaps be 5.3 if F4U4B is 5.7.
So to put it, the tempest must have better thrust compared to the F4U-4B making bigger loops. This will make it hard for the F4U-4B to overshoot, and with strong elevators, will complete it's loop earlier than the tempest. At 4-5km altitude, this could be a different story, but since most fights are near to the bottom of the deck, the cards will be played to the F4U-4B. The tempest seems to have quite similar flight characteristics to the bf109 (fast and less maneuverable), but I can't say for sure.
F4U-4B actually has the most thrust out of any single engined prop in the game. Tempest has less induced drag (maneuvering drag), that's what makes it retain energy better. F4U-4B has better climb and better turn, so it also has the advantage in loops.
I wanna give this a shot with him. I think you could have had him in the second encounter multiple times with a little throttle management. Also, another thing I've learned in 1on1s is the guy who takes the low route dies almost every time.
Adam514 yeah, idk really, you know what I think of the tempest. It's medicore roll rate combined with an average turn rate kinda makes me desire something better. I just wanted to try, I enjoy 1on1s.
It really depends on the aircraft and starting speed. For example low tier aircraft have their best turning speed in the 300km/h, and if you're starting at 400+ then going up will yield the best turn. So it really depends.

This is a prime example why duels does not mean much for the real battles. That is why you keep claiming Tempest is better, which is in air rb, but got this clear defeat. Dueling narrows down the context in favor of certain planes, so it is biased.
