- Eliot, Adam and Ross share their thoughts on #Iowa's season-opening 40-0 win over Illinois State.
The #Hawkeyes first half struggles, how Cade McNamara's play turned it around (Did he locked up the starting job?), the emergence of Reece Vander Zee, Seth Wallace's debut as a head coach, putting everything in context, and more.

Cade did not peak at Michigan. He’s only gonna get better. He’s our guy.
Excellent sound/mic levels!
First half was out with the old, second half was in with the new!
Even with how it was a tale of two half’s the one thing that I liked both half’s was Cade didn’t look hurt… last year was clear form the first game he was off an injury.
I’m fine with things taking time, in Lester I trust
Great show. Thank guys. Go Hawks
MVP was Adams’s cat
Love the second half effort, but let’s not forget the opponent. No disrespect against Illinois state. Our line is still very average and doesn’t handle blitzes very well. Let’s take a deep breath and see how the next two games play out. McNamara settled down in the second half and trusted his abilities finally. Hope this game shows the big step next game that it should show. Go hawks.
Thing to look at in comparison Big 10. How many big 10 top 25 teams had a overwhelming first half?
“Humming” is a strong adjective based on one good half against an FCS team 😂
Something I haven't heard anyone mention is that the D didn't score any of those points. Not very Iowa like. I thought everyone showed out Saturday and I expect, as long as Cade can avoid the pass rush we will see more of our receivers finding a way to get open to help their QB make a play. That happens all the time for the great teams. The QB gets a lot of time to throw and the D can't keep them covered that long and they pull out a play or throw it in the stands. That's how it should work when the first play gets blown up. ISU played a good half but Iowa got the thing figured out, thanks to our new OC and took over. That is what his system is capable of and our players are now getting the thing down. I think we may have some growing pains yet to come but what must the rest of the conference think of Iowa finding an O. Must be some nervous teams out there. By the way, did you see the Nebraska QB. They are going to be a team to contend with going forward.
That second half was the best case scenario. Hopefully any luck gets converted into confidence.
Huge hawk fan but it’s an fcs team calm down
Yep.
And it's not like they've ever won an FCS championship.
Having a healthy O-line with some adequate depth can work miracles for a bad offense.
Add a good QB and even Brian could produce a good offense. In retrospect we should realize the problems were not all on him.
@@jeffreypierce1440 The problem was bf and his play calling, everyone knew what he was calling
Buy Ross a decent camera!
QB position is locked up. Coach Ferentz doesn't play around with rotating QB.
These negative hypotheticals are not what anyone should want to hear or entertain.
Sick of his qb ideas a 1-10 with play because he’s a senior but 7-10 will sit cuz he’s a freshman one thing I hate about Kirk Kurt Brian iowa needs to move on from Kirk
@@skylermummert24 You aren't right in the head. Some criticism is warranted but not all out hatred.
Also Elliot I believe we went to college together at UNI
@@flansquadgaming9286 really? When did you graduate?
Really 47-0 😂😂😂

Never even close to the red zone
Woopdeee friction dooo there's 134 FBSteams .
