The Rocksteady employees who made the Arkham games are probably long gone from the company, even the two co-founders left before this game came out to start their new company, Hundred Star Games.

Ok, I agree they do a lot of shit in this game, but Brainiac being able to control Batman's mind isn't "bad writing". Brainiac's mind control is definitely more powerful than Joker's virus.

Robin dresses too brightly for Batman's general skill set (stealth), gets adopted for crime fighting, gets killed off and or replaced very often, gets abused by Batman, the list goes on. Their primary job is being Batman's sidekick. So they either get upstaged by Batman, get taken out first because they don't have his plot armor, or get wiped out first because what better way to show Batman becoming an "irredeemable monster" than by killing Robin first? And on the rare occasion that is the "No Batman/Saving Batman" plot. Robin has to share it with his other Batfamily or the Teen Titans. Being Robin itself is a sign of being disrespected.
Flash got pissed on, Green Lantern died in his underwear, Wonder Woman's lucky to have a heroic death, Batman gets headshotted by one of his weakest villains while having a bratty fit on a bench, and then Superman gets killed by guns. Who thought it would be a good idea for the Suicide Squad to "Kill the Justice League" in the most boring way possible?
Not even close at least Joel is a center part of the story and wasn't treated like nothing after his death. This would be like controlling Abby and his friends and killing Joel, Tommy, Ellie, and a bunch more while nobody cares and they keep making jokes about their deaths.
Far from it. Joel's death actually had a purpose, as heartbreaking and uncomfortable as it was. Batman's death doesn't seem to have anything to say, and just seems mean-spirited. Joel went out in a horrific way but at least his death meant something to the narrative and its themes.

I agree. The “Rocksteady canon” is as irrelevant to me as the “Disney canon” of Star Wars. Once the original creatives no longer have anything to do with the IP, the canon gets split in my eyes. Sure Arkham games are canon to Suicide Squad, but Suicide Squad will never be canon to the Arkham games. It’s a one way street.

There’s an issue in a more recent Batman Beyond comic run where Bruce ends up dying and it honestly was the way I would expect that version to go out, I thought it was decently well done. I don’t think it actually continues the story from the show but is loosely based on the same events or something, I remember the art style was pretty similar. But the actual DCAU Batman lived longer anyway since the comic showed him dying as he looked in the show but in the JLU Epilogue episode with adult Terry you see a way older Bruce anyway so they probably intended to have him die from natural causes or something

I agree. The “Rocksteady canon” is as irrelevant to me as the “Disney canon” of Star Wars. Once the original creatives no longer have anything to do with the IP, the canon gets split in my eyes. Sure Arkham games are canon to Suicide Squad, but Suicide Squad will never be canon to the Arkham games. It’s a one way street.

This is part of their Multiverse. They already said so in the game that there were multiple universes that Brainiac wanted to control. As far as I'm concerned, this isn't the same universe as the Arkham Knight series, just a variant. We've seen different variants of the DC Universe, for example, Injustice

I refuse to accept this game as cannon, it completely craps over everything Asylum, City, and Knight did. It ruined the already perfect ending that Knight gave to the series. People don't realize killing off Arkham Batman is like killing off TAS Batman, it's such a beloved version of the character
There’s an issue in a more recent Batman Beyond comic run where Bruce ends up dying and it honestly was the way I would expect that version to go out, I thought it was decently well done. I don’t think it actually continues the story from the show but is loosely based on the same events or something, I remember the art style was pretty similar. But the actual DCAU Batman lived longer anyway since the comic showed him dying as he looked in the show but in the JLU Epilogue episode with adult Terry you see a way older Bruce anyway so they probably intended to have him die from natural causes or something
