    CA voted worst state of the USA. We closed our company, sold the house and moved out in 04. Since then we have several friends and relatives who have trickled out of the state. My brother is relocating here this summer and that will be the last relative still in CA. We were all relatives of CA. Grew up there, had companies, bought houses etc. but you can only take so much.

      @Smith I am an observer, not part of this animal zoo called USA. Therefor i am not elephant nor donkey. When i look at the polls, while at times stable there is a steady loss over the past year in numbers of elephants.
      I have no clue if you have one, about liberalism. I have come to see that different countries fill in a few different ideals in this. By my definition any democratic party is by default a liberal party as it takes part in a free democratic society. There are a few more aspects surly to it, i just wanted to point out how pointless it is to attack something you are part of.
      Using ad hominem attacks like calling me dumb, won't help your argument either.

    • @JohnSmith-gq9gn
      @JohnSmith-gq9gn 6 років тому +5

      kinn...since you are an observer and not a participant...and not even part of this country...you should really not rely on polls and the media. You call the USA an animal zoo?.....what zoo are you a part of? If you think that where you are from is not a zoo..you are sadly mistaken. There is no exemption from this category. Trump was elected because a huge amount of donkeys voted elephant. The polls all but guaranteed that Hillary would win. You have no argument. You have no idea.

      No, please no! We do not want the rich liberals from California moving into lower-tax states. We do not need their liberal values and their liberal money supporting those values. Lower-tax states are the way they are because of CONSERVATIVE values, but they are too retarded to understand that and will try to change wherever they move to the same thing as wherever they've left from.

      john scimeca
      Most of that was nearly incomprehensible but whatever you tried to say in the beginning about Arizona being a low-tax state because neighboring states pay the taxes for us....lol, what? That's not how that works. Your state taxes do not go to another state, they go to your own state. Arizona is a conservative state, so we have our tax laws such that we do not have to pay an absurd amount in taxes. We have far less generous welfare policies than other states, and that is a huge reason.

      As someone who lives in New Jersey, the main attraction for people living here is the proximity to New York City, Philadelphia, the shore, and that New Jersey hosts some of the best colleges in the country! Princeton, Rutgers, Farleigh-Dickinson, William Patterson, TCNJ, NJIT, and DeVry university are all located in New Jersey. New Jersey is also the weirdest state in the union in terms of ghost stories, urban legends, ghost towns/abandoned asylums, ufo sightings, sea monster sightings, ghost ships, and our resident cryptid: the Jersey devil (there's been two books written about it).
      While I do confess that the taxes and gun laws here are ridiculous and often confusing and is a legitimate reason for leaving. New Jersey remains the most densely populated state in the country (1,200 people per square mile, according to the u.s census bureau).

    Biggest problem is so many of these wealthy residents leaving are democrats but what really is bad news is so many of these individuals leaving democratic States for Republican States are government union pensioners who don't want to stay because of the high taxes imposed to pay for their pensions. They don't want to live in these high tax areas so they run to red states to retire and continue to collect those pensions. Why don't those blue states tax their pensions as non homesteaders?
    Worst thing is. These assholes that ruin their blue states want to change the red states they move to into blue states like venerial disease!

      No, you STFU.
      Those funds have been stolen by those in charge of them to contribute to the democrats campaigns, they've been used to invest in losing endeavors so the managers of those investments can make huge commissions, they've been used to build resorts and clubs for it's officers, and it's lost large sums of money in the stock market. And there are many pensioners who have bought their way into those pension along with some.getting pensions from two funds at the same time. Let's see you deny it.
      Where does your dumb ass think that pension money is located? In some bank earning .O5 percent interest?
      The union pension funds are the only entity that can gamble, steal, invest, and lose its' money and expect the taxpayers to make up the loss.
      So you, STFU! with your typical democratic smoke screen that the States are at fault and THEY EARNED THOSE PENSIONS BULL SHIT!

    • @davidsine4390

      Larry Kraut States funding their government retirees tried to do exactly that. Claiming the income was taxable to state of its source, reguardless of where the retiree lived. It went to the Supreme court. The court ruled against the states. So for example, if a California retiree moves to Nevada, they do not have to pay taxes on any retirement income to California, even if California is the source of that income. They can actually still have a house and be in California part time, but they need to be able to prove they are in California less that 50% of the time. However, if for example, you move but continue to own rental property in California, and live in Nevada, any profits from those rentals remains taxable in California reguardless of where you live. If Nevada had a state income tax, then California retiree income would be taxable in Nevada, or fall under NV tax laws at least. If you are actively working in California, but live in another state more than 50% of the time, the opposite is true, the income remains taxable to the state you work in, reguardless of where you live. Clear as mud.

      Was it the United States Supreme Court or the State Supreme Court that made that ruling and we're the democrats in control when it was passed.
      In my state the democrats wait until they control the state then the state supreme Court passes legislation to guarantee those pensions and add it to the state constitution. Then when politicians try do any pensions reform the democrats scream YOU CAN'T TOUCH THE PENSIONS, IT'S IN THE CONSTITUTION!
      Like out founding fathers or God wrote it!
      My democratic states' supreme Court passed a bill last summer that rules that one of its' towns with a firemans' and policemans' pension fund that has only about 27% funding can Levi taxes on the property owners to fund it even if the town goes bankrupt.
      This town is a total shithole.
      High crime, massive government fraud, almost total minority, run by democrat criminal politicians. It probably doesn't have a resident that makes over 40K. who isn't a town employee. The county gives anybody that makes under 55K a real estate tax exemption. Over 65 gets a senior exemption. There is a homestead exemption. These property owners, rightfully so, pay about 1/3 of what others pay.
      When the county auctions these properties off for back taxes no one wants to bid on them. When these banks foreclose on these properties no one wants to buy them, when a homeowner wants to sell their house no one wants to buy it. WOULD YOU?
      Not only is this town going to go broke, no one is going to want to work for it or live in it knowing there is no $4,000.00 per month pension once they turn 50!
      This town is going to be a ghost town.
      But this state supreme Court ruling has set a precedent for every single town and city in the state.
      All done by the democrats and those ignorant fools who vote for them.
      The voters are too stupid and too lazy to see and believe what is right in front of them ! The democratic politicians know it but don't care. THEY WANT THOSE UNION FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS AND VOTES!

    • @davidsine4390
      @davidsine4390 6 років тому +1

      Larry Kraut US supreme court. If it was heard in any state court, the state bringing it would have won. The issue is an inter state issue, so it's a Federal question. Reguardless, what I posted previously is correct. The issue regarding state taxability of state funded pensions is well defined. State of residence is the controlling factor. Just for clarification, this does not mean pensions sourced from other states cannot be taxed in the state where you become a resident. IOWs it's up to each individual state of residence as to whether they tax pensions sourced from other states or not. But no state may tax a NON resident's state pension, using source income as their justification.

I mean if you're in the DC area it really is that easy to get out of there and basically stay in the same city. This more recent tax increase was the final straw for some people I guess but even before that why were they paying 8% to Maryland when they could be paying 5.75% to Virginia?

    How can a state that has almost every natural resource within its borders, wealth most countries can't even dream of having.. an 840 mile long coastline that is home to one of the largest military and civilian ports in the world, ideal weather conditions, some of the highest taxes on the planet be nearly a Trillion dollars in debt? The Democrats have controlled The State Legislature for 48 years in a row and during that time the infrastructure that has not been maintained or improved, we have virtually no public transportation and only one of every 10 school employees is a teacher. The state spends 100's of millions on housing feeding and lawyers for illegal aliens at a time California does not have enough housing for her own citizens, if you're lucky enough to find an apartment you are paying some of the highest rents in the nation. Wouldn't it be nice to have leaders who actually fought for our rights? and why is California paying Eric Holder $400,000 a year for his advice? Are you kidding me?
    Do not let these yahoo's tell you California's budget is balanced what they fail to add is the $600 Billion deficit in the Retired State Workers Pension Fund and when that bomb blows up it will be hell on earth austerity for the rest of us. The Democrats who wrote up these ridiculously generous pension laws should be imprisoned or better yet shot. Don't get me going on PG&E who's rates are set by Democrats and who give generously to them and why we pay over .40 cents a Kwh for our electricity when the national average is .09 cent a Kwh. I refuse to believe the people of Calif are this stupid. There has to be massive voter fraud going on and is the reason they are so mad dog hysterical at even the mention of a voter ID law. But there preparing for that too by making every voter in the state an absentee voter but all the major races are between two Democrats anyway and you couldn't vote for another party if you wanted to.
    I wish the Feds would seize this state or at the least sieze PG&E. I have been in this state all my life and my feelings for liberals would redefine the word Hatred and should the President ever ask for a Call To Arms to fight them I"M DOWN! and I would be merciless.

    Interesting. I didn't see this happening at all. The middle class is leaving California (I am among them) and we are/were the people paying most of the taxes for the failed policies of the California government. That would leave only a lot of poor people and a few rich people, which would mean the state would have to go after the rich to pay for these failed policies. I just didn't think those pinheads were smart enough to figure that out but, apparently, they have and are trying to delay the inevitable. As others have posted, these idiots will never be able to realize or admit that their ideology is idiotic and cannot work. They will double-down. They will go after the rich, and the rich will leave. The only people left over will be illegal aliens, homeless people and the working poor who are too poor to move out of the state. California will collapse.

    New York is the highest taxed state. Back in the 1960's and 1970's NY had the most electoral votes of any state with 45. Today NY is now tied with Florida for third most with 29. The loss of electoral votes shows the loss of people in NY and the gains in other states. Almost every high taxed state in the north east has lost many electoral votes. Partly due to the high taxes and also the cold, snowy winters and the flooding of Mexicans to Cal, Texas and other southern states

    • @Seafarer64
      @Seafarer64 6 років тому

      That's the *direct* result of the original Gov. Cuomo, who taxed every blue collar working class business out of existence, forcing them to flee to other states to stay in business. Doesn't look like his kid is any smarter. I'd feel sorry for NY'ers... but they brought it on themselves back then and they haven't learned a damn thing since.

    • @888strummer

      It's mostly because of New York City. People think of NY as a liberal state but it's really NYC with the majority of the counties conservative and republican. Much of Upstate NY wants to break away and form their own state because they hate being dominated by NYC liberals. Trump won 47 of the 62 counties in NY but the New York City counties and the counties closest to NYC have 60% of the state's population. And they live in such a tiny piece of land; it's like a jungle. Here's some NYC stats and why NY is so liberal. New York has the highest population density of any major city in the United States, with over 27,000 people per square mile. Over 3 million of New York City's residents are foreign-born; over one-quarter arrived in 2000 or later.

    • @Seafarer64
      @Seafarer64 6 років тому +1

      True enough about that cesspool NYC... but there are still a lot of braindead dem supporting Upstate residents too. Born and raised there, and I'm ashamed to say my relatives and former classmates who still live there vote for the left. Not sorry I left decades ago, just sorry that so many throughout the northeast refuse to think for themselves and are happy to let the MSM dictate their thoughts for them. Upstate NY is a broken down, dilapidated wasteland now - barren of any worthwhile private sector jobs. The only new buildings all seem to be gov't buildings - either state, local, or federal. They got what they wanted - Dems in office. Now they get what they deserved.

      Agreed and upstate NY really was hurt when manufacturing began leaving in the 1990's. The hope is that many of these decent paying manufacturing jobs come back, but even if do; they might not want any part of the high taxed states like NY. Why would a business come back to America and set up in a high taxed state?

    Unfortunately the Californacation of Nevada is now complete. So many people have fled CA. and relocated here they’ve changed totally the politics of the state. We now have one of the highest sales tax rates in the country. The highest auto registration fees and with the legalization of marijuana our schools still suffer budget short falls. Marijuana was approved with the understanding that the tax would go to the school system. It’s been diverted and used in ways never conceived by those who voted for it. Democrats never met a tax they didn’t like. City council in Las Vegas just passed a five dollar a month increase in garbage fees to clean up after the homeless. 😬

    I was living in Sarasota, Florida in the early 80s. The next county north was Manatee, and they had a booming, thriving boat-building business, primarily those $100,000 and over boats. The geniuses in county gov't thought they would put an extra 10% tax on boats over $100,000. The boat business closed within 6 months, never to return. Something like 25 boat builders (chris-craft yachts, Donzi's, Bayliners, Boston Whalers etc). People with money will pay until they feel it isn't fair. Poor and middle class people just sigh, say "fuck me " and turn the money over. Rich people say " fuck YOU" and leave, taking their money with them. Luxury homes took a big hit. Construction workers had no jobs. Boat builders had no jobs. Car dealerships ran out of customers. Restaurants saw a huge decline in people eating out. People quit driving as much, buying less gas, so paying less highway taxes. Far fewer people went to the mall, so many stores closed, the entire housing industry, including homes with mortgages began to empty, property taxes for schools dried up. The ripple effect was shocking. Oh, both communities recovered. Sarasota is wealthy, and beautiful. But the devastation was immense. It just ruined the middle and lower-middle class. Yep...go ahead California. Soak the rich!!!! They have no choice but to suck it up!...fucking moronic liberals.

    • @jonathanhurley4055
      @jonathanhurley4055 6 років тому

      To add a HUGE insult to a GIGANTIC injury, when the (over-whelmingly) Democrat political hacks began to get deserved ass-whippings, they actually blamed Republicans for the problem. It just happened to be that the 2 counties , Sarasota (decidedly Republican, at a time I was Democrat) and Manatee (overwhelmingly Democrat and working class) were very different in their political make up etc. An example, WAAAAAAAAY back in the early to mid 60s , a group dedicated itself to the preservation of the Sarasota Bay and its overall health. They called it Save Our Bay...which made for a cool acronym! SOB!! In any event, there had been an incredible amount of dredge and fill since the 40s, ESPECIALLY in the late 50s early 60s, and was reaching a fucking crescendo! The (tax and spend) Democrats put that $10,000 luxury tax on the boats and goodbye, and I mean GOOD FUCKING BYE, to the boatbuilding business as a whole. No matter little Bayliners or 17' Boston Whalers weren't luxury craft and weren't subject to the tax. The perception was, as loss of jobs just cascaded through the communities, that buying a boat was a decision best put off for now. For awhile. Perhaps a couple of years. Maybe til Junior graduates from college. It WOULD be nice if he and his friends could cruise the bay at will ( and we did. It was next to Heavenly. Marvelous. Incredible. Oysters, bridge fishing (no license required!) skin-diving, skiing, scuba, spear-fishing, bridge-jumping, private dock confiscation, exploring all the small "spoil" islands sprinkled throughout the Bay, curiousity about EVERYTHING underwater! And the Bay had just begun, in my 4 or 5 short years of being seriously in love with the Bay and its gifts and joys, well, I began to see its disintegration before my very eyes. Then I went to Vietnam for 2.5 years and settled in Phoenix for 5 more. When I returned I could not recognize it. wow. Anyways, that tax fucked over some serious people. Families. Children. Businesses. Government revenues (uhhhh...taxes, to the rest of us). The Democrats claimed Republicans, somehow (they never were clear HOW exactly these nefarious, slimey, hate-mongers DID it) but these damned awful terrible people-hating racists had fired everyone, closed all the businesses (which of course were owned mostly by Republicans), thereby shirking their moral duty to provide jobs and pay taxes, the bastards. Fortunately, there was a county line. And one could straddle that line, one foot in a socialistic world, failing and falling deeper in debt by the day, the other foot in a Capitalistic Republic-type county, thriving and bustling, hopping and shopping, movin and groovin.....and even willing to share! Sarasota would take on most of the costs associated with keeping the Bay healthy. Sarasota would have recreation programs for the youth that were open to those from Manatee. County-line Road....really a road exactly on the county line, had expenses that the Feds, Staters, or districts would pay, but the relevant county would. Again, Sarasota agreed to pay for the entirety of the roads local expenses. In the end, the Democrats simply pointed out how they (Democrats) saved the day...their policies prevented the 2 counties from certain death, had the fucking GALL to blame Republicans for the cause of it all......namely greedy business owners trying to fuck over the general public. AHH, Democrats ...the Horses asses of horses asses.And this election cycle for President has high-lighted the dipshits. I just have such a difficult time believing people BUY what the Democrats sell. Trying to IMPEACH this President? Are they in fucking sane? This guy, in the face of such adversity almost insurmountable, has put this Nation together, working, thriving, businesses returning, taxes cut, yet tax revenues increase! Just employing the magic of the market place when unfettered by excessive government influence. Oh well. If he can get through this term, and maybe the 2nd term, he could have made 4 or 5 Supreme Court appointments, and that oughta just tidy this shit up real nice for 50 years or so. God Bless America.If you had the fucking persistence to read this entire post....holy shit!! you are amazing!...lol...

    Rich people don't get rich by being stupid. If they think they're going to tax them exorbitantly, then they will move to someplace where there more appreciated. This is one of the reasons that's socialism - communism does not work. Cuz communism - socialism Works real well as long as you have some rich people to steal from but when the rich people run out of money or move away then you don't have any more rich people to steal from then your system falls apart. All of the rich people are leaving California they take their money with them out of their Banks so that it cannot be lent to Californians, which in turn destroys the California economy that's why they're in such deep debt right now at least one of the reasons anyway.
