Fact is Alanis is on record as saying she hates this version. I loved the original and i love the freemasons so its a no brainer for me but i get why she hates it due to the subject matter.
I believe Alanis didn't make this version. The FreeMasons first created the instrumentation for this cover version, and used a different vocalist, Bailey Tzuke. Then, someone came back and used that remix without Bailey, and put Alanis's vocals back in. Both versions are great, but of course, Alanis's vocal makes the song so haunting...and unique.
