This was one of the best explanations of Flex Pitch that I have seen in years - or possibly ever. Well done, good sir. Oh, yeah - I almost forgot - WE WANT FORMANTS!!! 😆
I love watching your videos, always spot on and easy to study, thanks so much for sharing! Merry Xmas to you and your beloved family, and Happy New Year!
I don't get the lines man? Maybe because of the recent logic update? Without the lines, it's just the bendy wave forum line with pitch, gain. vibrato etc, and is a nightmare trying to tune something without it sounding wobbly and weird
There is one really bad thing about flex pitch...It messes up the audio quality specially in the high end. I would really love to use flex pitch on everything, because it's fast and easy, but when you compare the audio before flex pitch and after, or flex pitched vocal to autotune pitched vocal, the difference in quality is massive...Try it yourself. If they will change the algorithm somehow that it would not mess up the quality, then hands down it will be the best tool. 🙏
There is a quality difference between flex pitch and autotune for sure. But flex pitch has gotten muuuuch better since it was first released, and I expect it to continue to improve for the future! For now, Melodyne is still my go to audio editor!
@@Music-By-Mattie Yeah, I know. I actually tried it again a few months ago just out of curiosity if they changed the algorithm, but the effect on the high end is still there unfortunately. It's a great and fast tool, but just to have that in mind. Cheers🙏
I spent like 2 hours yesterday fixing the vocal track, saved the project. Opened it today and all my work is gone, everything is back the original way. Any idea why is that?

Can you use logic to correct pitch for a piano quartet live performance recording?
You could, but it may sound a bit strange at the end of things. Best to get it right from the original recordings!
