In here before 10k subs. Great video as usual man. Top notch quality. You'll get those subs in time with great videos like this. Didn't know that the R2 is no longer assembled so great info there. Good point on the screws as well. I didn't know if having that type of screw had any advantages.
Thanks for your encouragement as usual man! Always trying to improve. In terms of the screws it was quite dissapointing as some others did have the same issue... Not sure why kbdfans decided to go with that. R2 being unassembled is also odd considering an entry level board should be assembled imp
@@sviz yeah I was thinking that. It was a big plus that R1 was assembled imo. However I think it was assembled by hand so it was probably a nightmare getting that done.
1. More ppl need to know more about you, this channel is amazing 2. I appreciate that you have multiple configuration since I am planning to get my first board this year! My option is mode65 or kbd67 lite, I care most about sound
Kbd67 lite now back in stock at mechanicalkeyboards.com for a very limited time actually, use code sviz at checkout!! It'll go fast most likely since in stock and not group buy sale
Want even more budget go with hk gaming set instead of epbt bu they are a great choice. Havent got to try the akko switches yet, but saw his video. They better than Gat milky yellows?
Akko has an absolutely fantastic keycap set (akko neon) For switches I wouldn't cheap out tbh. I usually use tactile and clicky switches and got gat yellows for my first linears. Fell in love. Recently ended up ordering black inks. It's pretty expensive like 65 euro for 90 switches. Which is the price of a cheaper Bluetooth keyboard that includes switches, hot swap and had pbt keys. But I just really wanted the best switches without spending Zeal prices since according to reviews Zeal switches are only slightly better than black inks. Do wish the black inks and completely see through housings. Even though I don't use leds it still would enjoy having the option of a brighter led
I am a decade older than you so I think they were going for a retro look with the rubber coiled cable? It feels slightly nostalgic to me because I used to play with the coiled phone cable when I was a kid haha. That being said I would love to see a clear/transparent coiled phone cable eventually :) less nostalgic but cool imo. Really like your content btw!
Had the PCB remapping issue as well when my left alt and left windows key got swapped. Weirdly enough after a few days, it swapped back to its normal config 🤔 keep up the quality videos and thanks to your akko cs switches video, I might get some too!
Amazing video man good job. Btw there seems to be a lot of stripped screws on this board. I am planning on getting this board as my first and I'm honestly a little concerned 😅
Watched the review, bought the board and hoping it sounds as good as yours. How was your experience with the KBDfans epbt keycaps that were made for the 67?
It looks like the seams of your case are bowing out, implying that you've over-tightened the screws. This would also seem to support the stripping of the screw, in addition to your sense that it's not very flexible. My 67 Lite still has a visible seam and the edges are straight rather than bowed. It also has plenty of flex.
Disagree in regards to this, even with the other kbd67 lites I've made for friends (1 r1, and r2) it was still rather stiff for "gasket mounting." The silicone is not as soft in comparison to standard poron gasket which kbdfans opts to use in their d60 lite and normal d60/d65. Even contacting kbdfans support, they came to the same conclusion you did at first but that did not fix it. Plenty of other reviewers have mentioned while it does have some amount of flex, it is by no means having plenty of flex. Something I would say that has plenty of flex for example is my jelly epoch, or a bakeneko. It is still an amazing board at the end of the day and I have been recommending it to people consistently along with the bakeneko, gmmk pro, gamakay k66, and others such as the upcoming freebird60.
@@sviz Fair enough. And for sure, a gummy worm O-ring mount is going to be significantly more flexible, but it's all relative. Regardless, a hell of a board for ~$120 USD.
Thank goodness they have changed the logo on the new KBD67 V3. Shame about the screws. Do you know if M2 screws would work to secure the case as I have box with many different lengths?
Great video. Why did you say that the white is vibrant 'especially for abs' I thought abs plastic is able to have brighter more saturated pigments like on legos. I thought this was the whole argument for why it's better that GMK uses abs plastic instead of pbt in their keycaps.
I mentioned in the video I changed the cable lol, trust me it wasn't those issues. I tried all fixes from kbdfans except the ones that involved me modifying firmware files with qmk

It really does I bought the R1 just to give me somthing solid while i wait for the ikki68 and other gb, But this board sounds and feels way above its weight class. Only con are weight and Logo. Might even get r2.
Agreed, I'm waiting on portico and ikki68 as well. I think yes if the case was a little heavier and featured a better back I would enjoy it more. At the same time can't expect too much. I have a spare pcb for it and I was gonna try and design my own case but too much work and I'm not good with this stuff haha
Hard to compare, both are different layouts and prices. But if you're looking for price to performance, id say they're both very similar but if gmmk pro was in stock I would have gone for it and gave it a shot

this board is trash for the money. you could taobao a keeb with more custom acoustics. The fit and finish of the ABS is terrible and eventually warps at the screws. all of the components separately seem like they are high quality but for the money, the KARA would be a much better entry-level buy.
The KARA is definitely not a better entry level. The way rama operates at the moment with 0 fullfiment updates on the Kara is absurd. People are upset. Same with your logic, you could buy a better board off taobao for a similar price considered the Kara is more expensive than the 67 lite. You also need to consider the kbd67 lites availability with restocks. I've never yet seen the Kara been consistently recommended by other enthusiasts as an entry level that's worth the value. Banger vids
Great video!
The tangerines sounds so good!
Did you encounter issues where taking out keycaps results in the switches coming off together as well?
That typically happens with hotswap sockets as is, but surprisingly no I didn't!
The reason of PCB went to default after restarted pc is cable or type-c port issue. I've met this problem before. Change cable and it goes well.
I mentioned in the video I changed the cable lol, trust me it wasn't those issues. I tried all fixes from kbdfans except the ones that involved me modifying firmware files with qmk
So i guess the takeaway i got from this is that on my unit i wont screw in the screws too much...

You can preorder the re-sellers on candykeys rn though it might be a bit more expensive
Does the ABS plastic of the case turn yellow over time, as older ABS keyboards used to do? Or does that not happen anymore?
