TikTok Video Shows Mouse Eating Meat in NYC Whole Foods Deli Case | NBC New York
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 вер 2024
- The video has gone viral, with more than two million people having watched a mouse takes bites out of a pricey slab of veal in the butcher’s case at the Whole Foods in Columbus Circle. NBC New York’s Adam Harding reports.
I am surprised that the Health Department did not shut the whole supermarket down. Well this is supposedly a wealthy business selling fancy quality foods, they must have favored them. Had this been a family owned supermarket in lower income neigborhoods, they would have just permanently closed the whole store down immediately and NYPD would have placed a To Vacate sign on the doors.
Where are you getting this information? Seems like your just talking with no evidence. It's really cool to just hate on wealth theses days.
Was this meat from an albino cow? I knew their was some white privilege involved here.
@@johnny10grasp3 i agree with you. People have such selective bias
@@tientrinh943 I try to respect everyone's opinions but when someone talks as their opinion is facts without any proof it's frustrating. I've seen the opposite in the hood I grew up in. Our taco shops were gettho, rats and cockroaches but never was shut down. I understand this is anecdotal evidence. That's why I would like to see data and studies before I make my claim. Have a great Memorial Day Brother.
Facts
Cleaning don’t mean a thing if the mice are able to come back repeatedly. They need to get rid of the mice and seal off where they are getting in.
This they key
Facts
Well there should be a sliding door they can close and lock so the mice can't get inside. Leaving it wide open like that is just asking for trouble.
Or it could have been release by a disgruntled employee.
try that in nyc , full of mice and holes
Rats and mice are common at every Wholefoods and any food retail store! We just don’t usually see it.
If they are bold to come out in broad daylight there is a serious infestation. I think that is why people are disgusted
@@lyfesaquarium exactly....I only been in there like once and that was to use the restroom...never again
And especially bars and restaurants
@@SumumbaSobukwe yuck 🤢
We all knew rat in the store but it is rather let people know better than don’t let see it
All that money Whole Foods charges, it should pest free.
Exactly...Whole Foods aka Whole Check 👎
U right
Lmao
Exactly my sentiments!!! Whole Paycheck is trippin' HARD!!!
Whole Foods management should take a trip to Japan and see how their supermarkets and food services industry is managed. It's meticulously clean and organized and their food handling standards are strict AF.
He’s supposed to eat cheese not the meat. Jerry 🤦🏾♀️ 😂
Mice and rats prefer meat to cheese. They love meat and also peanut butter.
@@francespelletier175 Peanut Butter???
@@mstwelvedeadlycyns they love peanut butter, meat, grains, nuts, dry cat food, bread, bird seed and a whole lot of other stuff. If you get one in your house and are using a snap trap use peanut butter as bait on the trap and you'll usually get him. Rats and mice will eat just about anything when they're hungry. I use to work in a canning factory where we would can green beans and spinach, the string beans and spinach would come in huge trucks that carried them from the fields to the factory. The trucks would dump those on conveyor belt that brought the beans and spinach into the plant. Workers would grade them and on alot of occasions we would here workers holler out mouse, rat or snake! We had long poles with a large metal curved hook on the end and some of us who were courageous enough would stand on stools over the belt and move the hook through the beans or spinach trying to find the snake, mouse, rat or whatever other critter workers were hollering about before they went through the shredder! We would use the hook because we never knew what kind of snake was coming through and rats & mice do bite! There is all kinds of stuff in your pre-packaged foods, just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not in there!
Where was Tom when you need him?
Their omnivores they'll eat anything including their own offspring and each other
It's NY but the Columbus Circle Whole Foods has had a rodent problem for years for a number of reasons: it's in the basement of the Time Warner Center, right next to various subway lines as the lady said and is directly across from the park where mice have dens.
yes, so we should get a rodent discount then.
I stopped shopping their years ago.
I thought you were going to make some kind of joke. About rich people being dirty rats or something.
@YupIt'sMe💕 Some TLC would help! :)
@@tobehonest7541
Every food market probably has mice...
Even the mice are gentrifying, first it was just the dollar slice in the subway... Now whole foods??😂
@Angelwing Nipple I bet you're fun at parties...
Hahahahahaha good one….
@Angelwing Nipple Depends on what side of picture your drawn on. If someone already owns two beach houses should it be moral to push low income people out so they can own three beach houses?
Don't you know? The mice in that neighborhood have a more discerning palate 😋😆😂🤣
That mouse has excellent taste....eating $22.99 a lb veal!
That mouse likes the finer things in life.🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😹😹😹
Surprised he didn't have a glass of Pinot Noir too.🤣🤣😂😂😂😹😹
Lmao ratatouille
We don't know what happens behind the scenes of our grocery stores. And how clean they are.
True. But the fact that they have a problem with rodents is not necessarily an indication that they're unclean. Mice and rats explore; and if they find what they're looking for, they come back.
Ha!
I am an overnight worker and walking around th city at night I have to tell you seeing mice in a display case is not uncommon. I see it all the time.
What's scary is that most companies probably don't throw out the merchandise....
I was just think. How we know if they threw the food out.
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀 You're exactly right.
Rats/mice are usually nocturnal. When you see them during the day it indicates there are too many!
Sale! Organic, free-range, non-GMO mouse droppings!
🤮
Yummo
Sesame seeds;)
You know you're wrong for saying that.😆😂🤣
If there's one there's tons running around back there, that's nasty. Just the fact that it came out like that means there's a serious infestation. Disgusting. They should shut that whole store down.
Rats and mice are so common in areas like this. Most times we just do not see them because they try and avoid people. So, you should stay away from any stores that have or store food in any way shape or form. Mice and rats can get in as easy as going into an establishment as you or someone else walks into the door.
I think Whole Foods needs NYC bodega cats 🐱 lol 😂
It's unbelievable that rats can even chew through aluminum doors, cinder blocks, plaster, and live wires. It might take them a while, but they'll chew their way in or out of hard surfaces.
Like a rabbit!
Mouse droppings are considered a condiment in filthy NY
Dammmmm yes lived there 15 years. Especially at college. Now I'm in the south dealing with snakes and spiders😱
Chocolate sprinkles.
Visited NYC once, and baffles me why anyone chooses to live there. City is ridiculously expensive and smells of piss and filth everywhere! Not to mention the fine, upstanding citizenry! Polite and welcoming like nowhere else in the world!
We soak that in pickle juice 😋👌
@@h8sjws735 hate to break to you, but your local grocery store also has mice.
Ive seen rats, lots of them eating chocolate at a very well known candy store on 5th avenue. That was at night. It was disgusting! I had to call NYC sanitation to solve the problem.

Lived in nyc my whole life can’t stand it anymore. Saving some money to buy a home in Florida seriously. This city has gone from bad to worse to shitty year by year. Can’t stand the crime, filth, politicians, the amount people and the laws. Just want some space for my family without selling an arm and a leg.
Good luck. I truly wish u the best. I just left nyc in Dec 2020 to Va. Its so clean nice ppl BUT very expensive.
Florida’s not that great either, though
I moved out in 2009 and have no regrets.
That mouse is an up-and-coming food critic. It was taste testing the Veal, to let the public know if it was actually worth buying. Ben Gnawlings is his name. 🥩🐀
Who the hell puts a food store in near a subway where all the rats are located the most.
It’s New York, most stores as restaurants are near subway stations
bro literally the whole nyc is near or next to subway.
@@flyerthantheg6 that’s why when red out-of-towners make comments on ny you know it’s bs, cause they can’t even understand the concept of ny lol

First stealing our pizza, now our veal? Is nothing sacred to these rodents??

That mouse only eats organic food and only shops at Whole Foods!
I guarantee that when lights are off, there's a large number that come out to feast.
Along with the roaches!
That’s that New York protein😂
Just imagine if it wasn't caught on camera how many people would've gotten sick from all that germs and diseases that mice, rats carry! 😳🤢🤮🐀

That's why you cook your food to a certain tempature, believe me mice aren't the only things that have put germs on food!

There is no such thing, I am sure...
Things went South right after Amazon took over that's how we had rats and mice in Whole Foods
Nah, Wholefoods went down way before that. When it became a publicly traded company back in ‘08/‘09, is when their quality began to go down.
All that money Whole Foods charging ppl & they can’t get a top rank pest control company to handle their pest problems especially in nyc especially in Manhattan they’re slacking!!!
sorry but no pest control company in the world can ever solve NYC rodent problem.
the rodent is undefeated
Don't shop there!
Poor little guy was enjoying himself 🧀

Funny. I was at this very same Whole Foods a few years ago and was very impressed at the layout. I took out my 📱phone and began taking pictures of the beautiful display. Several employees told me to put my phone away and that I was subject to be thrown out of the Whole Foods. Not wanting to cause an issue, I complied.
Now I think I see 👀 why they were so anal about me doing what all tourist do in NYC. Memorialize their trip.
Time for the tiktoker to sue wholefoods and earn millions of dollars!
It appears that you can get a whole mouse with your meat order at Whole Foods.
It’s New York City you’d be surprised how compromised any item you buy especially food items are exposed to such‼️🙀🤷🏽♂️🤣
Welcome to the People's Republic of New York!
Not Shopping Whole Foods Anymore - Thankfully, I haven't been there, since the start of the Pandemic. Gross & Disgusting.
Pigging out on $23/lb slab of veal. Smart rat! lol
come on guys It's okay It was Mickey Mouse nephew he gets special services whenever he's in New York
Rats and mice are probably doing the same thing at your favorite local grocery store. I used to work at Target and you don't want to know what I saw in the backroom.
I have to say... that mouse have one pricey taste🤭🤭🤭🤣😂🤣
Wow, that's my grocery store!
You saw that and declared that you want to shop there, or you perhaps still do shop there?
Just teasing.
There are more rats in new york than there are people
The rats make up half of the voter base. Which explains a lot.
Whatever happened to NYC mayor DeBLASIO's rats sterilization program that he was supposed to implement??🐀🐀🐁🐀🐁🐭
Enough of the food safety crap? What about all of the customers who purchased meat from that case that day? Did whole foods notify them? I don't think so!
NO PUBLIC FOOD BUSINESS IS 100% CLEAN.
These NYC rats are being fed so good everyday, they don’t even go for the cheese anymore. They upgraded to red meat and Wagyu beef now
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😹😹😹
I guess they wanted change after making it through the pandemic.😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Someone wrote an article about New York rats being depressed due to the lack of food during the pandemic.😹😹😹😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😹😹😹
Yoooooohhhhhh, it was IN THE REFRIGERATED CASE??!????? Noooo, that food case should be sealed when it is closed!!!
So just imagine the rest of their groceries.
I was just there… Ha people (3 Karen’s) were complaining about the line not moving fast enough, 😹 Wonder what they are gonna do now once they learn about this news…
More amazing is mouse only eats grass fed organic meats
The mouse got vaccinated and is claiming his prize.
Me: that veal must be good and tender because he's going in.. 👀 Excuse me? Yes, let me have a slab of that veal by Jerry the mouse over there??
This veal is 22.99 per lb, nobody is buying

I never been to that whole foods. Well I was gonna go, oh hell no. I am a germ phobe, omg. I don't care it they inspected or cleaned or threw out the meat. Never will I even enter that place at all.
Than stop eating altogether, because every supermarket in the world, no matter how well kept, probably has rodents and roaches.
Even our rats eat better than people in the fly-over states.
Always wash your produce people always.
Wow I’m so shocked this never happened before
I've heard soooooo many stories about the things that go on at whole foods that you wouldn't believe. From my sister in law who used to work in the seafood dept. On 96th. Yikes.

Lmao this made me lmao 😂😂 I know that whole foods 🤣
I can't believe the girl said I know its NY but its still not okay... a mouse coming out like that especially in a display case is a clear sign of a rodent problem so it is most of all not OK.

Why in the hell would u build a Whole Foods right on top of NYC SUBWAY in Manhattan... the breeding nest 🤨
