Better use the cheaper 50% H2SO4 and let away the water at the start. You wouldn't waste such high conc. H2SO4 and also don't need any H2O2 neither. Sodium bisulfate is such a cheap stuff, if bought in bulk. But I understand the attempt to make it on your own, if one needs it and every educt ist available already. I was a bit sorry for the HCl - in a receiver flask, that would had given some very pure hydrochloric acid.

Do you know of a mixture that can substitute Aqua regia for separating gold? I worked for many years with engineers as an engineering lab technician. I regret to say that I am unable to answer your questions. Liquid fire is terribly terribly contaminated with buffers drain protectors and other inorganics and organic contaminants do yourself a favor the most pure sulfuric acid on the market even cleaner than most technical grade sulfuric acids is made in Michigan right down the street from me in a town called Howell MI it's called rooto professional drain cleaner if you want it perfectly clean all you have to do to rooto is to boil it you don't even have to distill it because the water will boil off and leave clean sulfuric acid in its place
Thanks for the info Clown Whisper. My experiments as a hobby chemist are mainly just as a proof of concept and to have some fun. I know the drain cleaner that I used has contaminates. I really didn't need purity but it's good to let others know this fact.
Im pretty sure thats just sodium sulfate. So you cant use it to precipitate gold like you can with sodium bisulfate. I dont know though, I don't have a lab yet to make my own notes

Metabisulfate produces sulfur dioxide and is not bisulfate with is an acid salt produces sulfuric acid

Its bisulfate (NaHSO4) not bisulfite (NaHSO3)
