The first IC you have scaned is the emmc-flash. The arrow on the CPU is just a marker- it's a BGA soldered of course.
Duh! dido what he said
Don't pull CPU.chip! It's BGA soldered to the PCB! Arrow marks the first pin on the package.
The chip that's similar sized to the RAM, marked FEMDNN064G, is the storage; a 64 GB eMMC chip.
I enjoy a good disassembly video. 💯
the emmc is the storage on the far right below the ribbon cable is the pads for the msata
Sorry. Everything except the battery is soldered on your device. A few years ago, I found a cheap 11.6" 2-in-1 that has some interesting features - a 1080p IPS display supporting touch and an MPP stylus, an aluminum chassis, a USB-C port supporting data and power delivery, and (most interesting) an M.2 2242 SATA SSD, accessible thru a little hatch on the bottom. Its biggest weakness is the the dual-core N3350 CPU, rather than the the quad-core N3450. Still not bad for $140. Probably inventory that was being dumped.
This was a lot of fun 😊
It is basically more or less a SBC board design, nothing is user replacable there.
Next Part 8 step proposal, if you dont need it as laptop, try just to took board out and to use it as desktop.
Probably on all of these ultra-mobile x86 SoCs these days, and if it says anywhere LP DDR memory... it is just an SBC inside
All in all, do you see Tiny11 running best compared to the other OS you've tried on it? With the OS that runs best on it, do you see this budget (I guess I mean the cheapest there is) laptop as a reasonable choice for simple web browsing and document editing? If not, what would you recommend for such tasks? I do have the Pi 400 and it would do the job just fine as a desktop, but for portability it's a bit of a pity to set up. And sorry if I'm being ignorant by asking this, but how much better does it perform than the Pi 400?
Chrome os flex was probably the best or Linux

Performance can be similar to a Pi 400 running KDE

LPDDR4 or LPDDR4X, is Low Power ram at X reaches up to 4266 MT/s speed
rayson lpddr4 Speed: 2133-2933 mbps
The big metal plate under the battery is just the back of the keyboard, don’t touch that you will just make it completely unusable.
don’t understand why they only slap a thermal pad on the cpu and leave every other component to cook under that cover being passively cooled there’s no air moving across anything to assist heat dissipation
Because to keep the cost as low as possible for them
with all the free space to the side of the MOBO they could have gone for a bigger and better heatsink, it's not that alluminum 's gonna be that expensive
Maybe it only adds a little to each laptop, but when you produce thousands of laptops, it soon increases your upfront production costs. And he clearly says it generally runs fairly cool, so it may well be perfectly adequate as it is.
the drive was the chip tp the right of the processor.
Can I have a link to that solar panel bank with the useful light please?
That K400 wireless keyboard/touchpad duo… I got it to work with my daughter’s iPad by using a lightning to USB-A adapter.
I say that because I know many people like to have one keyboard on their desk and for it to work with everything on the desk.
Logitech says it is not possible on their website, that it won’t work with iPad… it does

Can't be sure how this is built, but all of the laptops I have taken apart I also had to pry off some kind of bezel or cover around the keyboard to get to the other side of the motherboard.
Cringe. The chip right next to the CPU is the eMMC. The arrow on the CPU is used to properly orient it during assembly/manufacturing. It's not upgradable.
Not sure how I missed emmc in the title of the search 🤦
is there a pcie slot in it
No
Damn, this was painful to watch
I'm glad I am not the only one forced to watch this video.
Wow! I just saw an interesting video of a guy taking a laptop apart. What did YOU see?
@@marvintpandroid2213 "Forced"? Have you lost "freedom of choice"? It all seems to be very "dramatic" in this discussion thread.
@@terrydaktyllus1320 it's called taking the pee of the original poster
@@marvintpandroid2213 You are more than welcome to call it what you like and just keep it to yourself. I have no need to know, or indeed I have no interest in how a complete stranger on the Internet might define words.
Good, we're done. You're welcome.
Do have a lovely rest of your day.
