What's the difference between saving as a template then opening a new set and loading the template; and saving a live set, then opening that?

Ones a live set and ones a template. Live set can have endless changes a template is always the same unless you replace it.

Question, I use ableton intro and it doesn't come with eq-8 and do you have any recommendations for a an eq similar to eq-8? I know that the intro version of ableton has eq-3 I personally don't like using it and it's not as dynamic in my opinion.

Lots of plugins that’s have great EQs, but I would upgrade to standard or suite
