Can still clearly remember how drastically changed the music scene was when Nirvana's Nevermind hit the world, never to be the same again. The honesty, rage, rebelliousness of the music can't be denied and for so many people who felt different, not the norm, Kurt's lyrics spoke like this wasn't so. Also played the Big Day Out Festival Tour that summer which would've been fn amazing.

He didn't record any studio albums with Nirvana, so he wasn't inducted. He was a touring guitarist and got to be a big part of the ceremony. Chad Channing was honestly a bigger part of Nirvana, and he only got a shout out.
@@John6-40 what about unplugged?
@@SoftDrinksOfChoice Not a studio album. That was a live album. If we count live albums, Smear also appeared on Muddy Banks of Wishkah.
@@John6-40 I hear u but recording and engineering for MTV unplugged was top notch. That album was Nirvana hitting a different level and drifting more towards a folk sound. I definitely love Smears guitar on that album and it's a shame both him and Chad Channing weren't up on stage
@@John6-40 Also I'm biased because it was the first CD i ever bought.
What a great band I have all their releases on vinyl and CD. Theur studio material us incredible. The band was a different monster live wow.
I really feel like Chad and Pat should’ve at least been officially honored if not inducted. Chad wrote a ton of stuff for them and Pat even carried over into Dave’s band.
Com certeza, concordo.
nunca vai existir banda como nirvana
Nirvana without question was apart of a very special turning point in top 40 music. The continuity of Nirvana was for lack of a better word special.very genuine not to mention authentic. Thank you Kurt,Kris and Dave!!!
These three with help of other bands of the time changed the landscape of music with a hard alternative rock sound regretfully dubbed as grunge. Maybe grunge is an industry word not sure but I was blessed to have came up in a time of good music.
Courtney literally couldn’t stay straight for 1 day to show respect for this and to all of Nirvana
Kevin Cosgrove She doesn’t have respect for anything, not even the music.
Cassidi Ellison you guys are making her sound so cool
@@opaljk4835 She is a horrible khunt
@@_esgee there are worse things to be. Hole has some good stuff
I miss Kurt! It was so great see Dave thank the previous drummers before him and Krist gave a lovely speech about Kurt. I hate the fact Courtney was on the stage giving a speech, and I don't think it was appropriate. Frances, yes! Courtney, no..... She was abusive to Kurt when he was alive
The radio stations played this everywhere, we so needed it. 101.5 in Phoenix. Thank you nirvana
I’m so glad I was introduced to Nirvana and the talent in that band.
Valeu mano, esses seus vídeos são únicos para mim, não tem como esquecer de deixar o like, valeu parceiro
Thank you
Nirvana
Im here 45 years old and still love there music, and My daughter 14 years old adore Nirvana and there music and clothes.. they where just awsome and unik.. Kurt u are missed.. Rip 💔
Obrigado por legendar.
Kurt Cobain himself would never have agreed to joining the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He would have seen it as an institution in which he did not belong. He didn't want to be part of some cozy rock club. He wanted to fuck with the establishment, and stand up for the underdog. Still, it's good that Nirvana's surviving members can enjoy the moment many years later.
I never watched this..but made me proud maybe even a tiny bit cause everything Dave said is how I've tried to raise my daughter. Honorable, passionate, love and pure life.
What An Honor & A Blessing To Be Inducted By Michael Fucking Stipe! I Nearly Shedded A Tear When Dave & Krist Made That Bittersweet Eye Contact “We Made It,” Wishing That Their Bud Was There In Between Them.
As
That “slayer” at 10:25 lol
It is about time they got in.!!!! Whooo hoooo. Thanks for the upload.
Beth Lundquist it was their first year of eligibility. It’s either 20 or 25 years after your first commercial release that you become eligible.
Not gonna lie. I love Dave Grohl, he’s my hero. Him not mentioning Kurt at all in his speech made me sad.
Oh there is a purpose for Dave to not to mention about Kurt. Noone can be a Kurt, noone can say "Kurt would be" or "Kurtwould say"...., Only Kurt could say anything about himself
I feel dave has been jealous of kurt cobain his whole life even to this day. How do u thank everyone else except kurt. Kurt was the band. When kurt died so did nirvana.
Kurt wasn't there to hiss like a cat as his fans.. what a shame.
And Krist and Dave didn't even kiss
what a beautiful introduction from michael stipe.
I was 12 when Nirvana hit. My generation was the targeted audience. If you weren't there you won't understand how they (and several other bands) changed the world. Preppy kids suddenly had dyed hair and flannel. The radio and mtv was playing only grunge. They took all the 80s hair bands that the previous generation listened to off the airwaves
I'm not crying, you're crying.
We miss you, K. Always and forever. 🥺💔💔💔
Quanta humildade do Dave Grohl... cada dia mais fã...
He didnt even mention Kurt Cobain
@@DrChainsawHandz because Krist was gonna. Having one member talk about Kurt and another talk about everyone involved in Nirvana who wasn't included for the induction is logical
Nirvana melhor rock da historia
Te amamos pra sempre Kurt Cobain 💔✨
Parabéns o contador do Nirvana ❤
Obrigado Nirvana 💙🇧🇷🤘🏻
My favorite band ever
Courtney didn't seem to be all THAT sad....🤔
Almost like she had something todo with his death
Do you cry every time you think about 9/11? It's been almost 25 years since Kurt killed himself. It still hurts but the pain dulls.
Prehaps she wanted to celebrate his life and work rather than sob on stage?
Before anyone else starts to defend Courtney I would recommend you watch this documentary describing the events that occurred during his death ua-cam.com/video/sCe5lkv7nvw/v-deo.html
Or you could also watch the movie or even the trailer soaked in bleach which also does a great job of explaining the events that occurred
@@mikeallard2892 soaked in bleach is a bunch of lies, people who believe that courtney had anything to do with his death are basically at the same mental level as fucking flat earthers or anti vaxxers.
Nirvana é um símbolo de rebeldia... Que amo tanto ouvir todos os dias
Love Nirvana! They are so awesome to me!
Nirvana was touring Australia when their popularity exploded worldwide, they played a pub gig where people were climbing through the bathroom windows to try to see them live. Also played the Big Day Out Festival Tour that summer which would've been fn amazing.
What a special night for the band. We all know someone is missing, but we was all privileged enough to experience it back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. When you talk about Nirvana, you have to add Chad and Pat into that success as well.
Love you Michael!!!!! I remember when I heard he died, my heart just broke
Awesome Band. RIP KURT
it’s so fucking hilarious how everyone started booing as soon as Courtney started speaking
Interesting that Stipe mentioned iran-contra and all going on then. ..... 30 yrs later here we still are. However, thank you for letting me c 2014 hall of fame. 😀
Thank you. He made a new song for everyone ❤
It’s fun and sad at the same time to think where the band Nirvana would be today..
I dont how anyone hates them other than being haters. They hated being popular, I guarantee Kurt wouldn't have showed up for this event. Dave has gone on to be far more successful and crushes it playing drums, guitar and singing. If you can do better, dont hate or thumbs down, get out there and do better! Good luck!
I remember watching this live and I could not believe that some of the people in the audience had the audacity to actually ruin Kurt's family's moment in history by booing!! That was very disrespectful to Kurt's memory and it kind of ruined the induction. Kurt is my all time favorite Rockstar and Courtney is my all time favorite Rock Goddess. I love Nirvana.. RIP Kurt We will always love you! From Paris with love, Pia Paradis🎸
One of the best bands to grace this earth. Way ahead of their time. If they dropped any of their tracks in this gen, it would still be the best thing ever
Rip Kurt legend never dies❤❤❤
I'll always know Dave as the drummer of Nirvana, since that is what I was used to.
thank you Krist
Thank you❤
