David, you will have to heat the cylinder to remove the liner. it is in there real tight. As I said on RCgroups, mine had a real tight fitting rod upper end on the piston. you may find the same.
Ok, I see that it does have the hole in the skirt. I am not sure if this has an official name. I have heard cross scavenging (as you said) and I have heard it called loop scavenging. Not sure if there is a difference between the two terms. The K&B uses this method on some of their engines too.
I skipped through the video some. Nice motor. I would like to know if the piston skirt has the holes in it (along with the sleeve) have holes in them for increased scavenging.
You can see pictures of this engine here as I am not opening this engine again. sceptreflight.net/Model%20Engine%20Tests/Webra%2040%20RC.html sceptreflight.net/Model%20Engine%20Tests/Webra%2040%20RC%20(2).html
What a cool looking engine. Great find David.
A brand new Webra? That's a real find.
The C/L guys would love to get their hands on that motor!
I sold it. I did not see using this engine, so it is in different hands now.
Ah. Well, easy come, easy go.

I have no intention of further disassembly of this engine.

I like that website. They even give timing numbers for comparison. Very nice.
Fuel with lots of oil and not much nitro, and an idle bar plug helps
