- It finally happened, the 2021 Sym Maxsym TL 508 has received registration and I can take it out on the open road. This is my first proper ride of this scooter and and my raw first hand impression of it there will also be performance metrics coming in the next video where we shall see how fast it is against the clock. For now enjoy a first outing with the 2021 Sym Maxsym TL 508.

I have been drivding Sym for the better part of over 20 years. Great brand and I am the last on in Germany that got hold of the last Maxsym 600 i which the great Sym company is not producing anymore, so now I have two. The old one done 65000 without ever having any trouble but instead of buying the new Tl 508 I changed and bought the Honda Forza nss 750, and boy what a game changer DCT IS. I still drive the other ones when it's raining but the DCT has got me to me, just amazing.
That sound of the exhaust... I like that!
2 cylinders sound completely different then regula scooters

Hello Alex. Very nice review! I also did a test drive with a TL 508 here in Belgium at the dealership.I liked it very much but I chose to buy a SYM 600i from 2017, it is a little more spacious.success with the new reviews✌️
They are 2 different scooters, the TL is more sporty the 600 is a tourer.
I know what you mean I bought the last new SMY 600i in germany and now I have my old one with 35,000 km and a new one. I ride both and I can't understand why they stopped making them.
All right, I expect the same test like this with less powerful scooters !!! And not just with this big one !!!😎🍻
I take out every single one that gets registered :))) but not all of them get registered (we still have to sell them you know 😂)

I live in HK and want a bike that is easy to park in tight spots, can handle very steep roads, and can handle riding double at about 180 kilo? What are your thoughts? Worried a 300 would be to small.
Test ride them, I think a 300 can handle steep roads but depends on your preference and how fast you want to go.
Hey Alex, can you please compare riding experience between cruisym and maxsym, also would maxsym suit a 5’6 rider ( considering the wide seat area), I currently have a cruisym and thinking of maxsym tl. I drive mostly hi ways and country sides. Thank you very much ❤
At that height please go and sit on it in the showroom, the main problem of both the maxsyms for me is the seat height, I can barely reach the ground. They are much taller then the cruisym.
Can it live for many years is it robust like honda and yamaha please tell me what do you think ,thanks
This is the first year for the 508 engine so the oldest one out there is 1 year old. But looking back to Sym's history the engines are reliable. I have seen videos online with 125cc Syms going over 100.000 km on the original engine.

Nice review! How can you describe the difference in your driving feelings between the 508 tl and 400? Did the 400 feel less sporty? Did the 400i feel much lighter?
It's hard to describe. The TL feels more like a motorcycle. That means more weight on the front wheel thus giving you much more confidence to push it in the corners, the front end feels really planted. With normal scooters especially when accelerating out of corners the front end gets very light and for people who are not used to powerful scooters that can feel strange but the TL feels more planted. They are both sporty if you push them but the TL has that extra 10% more
surefootedness that ,makes exploring the limits that much more fun :)

Hi. What is the main diference with the tl 500 in power. Do u feel any diference. Or anything else. Great review. 👍
It's about 6hp and 8nm more, you do feel a difference it has a bit more punch, not much but it is noticeable.

@amitshivkumar2561 the last part of the review. They are not competitors because the price is very different
I think the difference between them is wheelbase, slightly more power on the AK and electric windshield on the AK with map integration on the dashboard. I have been looking at both of these scooters. Price is a good swaying point for the Sym but I like the navigation integration, electric windshield on the AK. Decisions decisions…any suggestions?
@amitshivkumar2561 if you can afford the AK I would go for it, or wait for the new TTL BT from Sym coming out next year, it will cost arround the price of the ak550.
How does the suspension compare to the Tmax or the Forza 750? I am considering a maxi scooter but I want the most comfortable one

is this more expensive than the kymco ak550 or is it cheaper?
I don't know because the AK550 is no longer on sale here because it doesn't meet euro5 emission standards.

@@markangelogarcia2584 You will have to check with your local dealer. Here in Romania the AK550 is not available.
I’m a bit out of sequence with your video rides, but it’s really irrelevant because of your enthusiasm on each presentation regardless of bike ridden or manufacturer, (in this case the Sym TL508). Everyone benefits, all the best. Rola (Oregon / USA).
if you want to test the bike on a twisty road you have to uphill and downhill a mountain brother...

You can feel the difference, it's not world changing but it does feel better, a lot more potent

Greetings from Portugal. I'll try to write in English... I have two questions for you: what about the tires on wet pavement, I heard they do not like wet. Consummation, any idea? Congratulations for yours tests.
I haven't ridden it in the wet but if you do a lot of riding in the rain I would suggest a more premium tyre, as of fuel consumption it should be about 4-5l/100km, depends how hard you ride it.
Fuel consumption is heavy?
A bit on the heavy side, 5-6l/100km
If you want good fuel economy go for a 300 scoot , they do on average 80-85 mpg , are just as comfortable and fast enough on acceleration and top speed with touring ability. Good video by the way 👍
I think you were more excited with the 400...
The 400 was a shock, because I wasn't a big fan of it until I rode it. The 508 I was expecting to be fast so it wasn't that big of a surprise when I rode it and it was fast :)
You said that you cannot reach the ground with both feet. What is your height. I am 175 ( 5'9 ) . You think it is too tall?
If you're comfortable with just one foot on the ground as I am than sure no problem.

They are completely different, the TL is much bigger and more comfortable.

That is a personal preference, everyone rides how fast they wish to ride :)
plastic toy, uncofrtable seats, low quality, can drive on it even i am 185cm... simply dissapointment
