My son and I ran that last April North to South on our way to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I love the dual personality of the trail- half rock crawling, half big bog holes. Looking forward to going back.
This is one of my favorite goto trails and I love the duel personality as well. Great camping and wheeling in one! Did you get caught by that one super soft mud hole at the end that I seem to forget every time I run it?
@ nah. But the holes were really low as it was pretty dry and I always hit em with a bit a speed at the entry and maintain through, just in case. I grew up in South Jersey and wheeled Wharton as a kid- they have vehicle swallowing ones at that place so it was engrained in me early on to never let my guard down with em. Lol.
@ That's some good advice! Every time I have gotten stuck in the mud and had to winch it was because I was going too slow. Last min throttle ended up digging in axle deep.
@@OverlandCalling ha. It’s funny isn’t it- throttle offroad is all about using just the rightv amount at just the right time. One of the things I love about offroading is the precision we need, and I love trying to get it perfect. When you do feels so good. And if not, well a little winching is always fun!! Lol
@@dadventuretv2538 Ha soo very true! I drive a manual and am absolutely floored when I get just the right amount to go slow over the big stuff, but don't let the engine die.
Alternate is a lot of fun going up the mountain . Have not done it coming down . I hit big levels a lot , and started hitting all the trails around flagpole knob
I love that whole area up there! I agree that the alternate is a great time. I run this trail at least once a year and the camp spot on the top is a stop on every one of my trips out West. Being up there just gets my head in the right spot!
@@Robs_Model_T_and_The_Money_Pit I have been thinking of carving some time out for WV as well. Nice thing about winter is time to plan for spring/summer wheeling trips lol.
Bought my2024 Colorado zr2 last june 29 th. Took it up up to bumpus cove,tn 13 miles up onto forestry road. That mountain laurel pinstriped my truck up good. That trail was almost as narrow as this Kenedy ridge trail you was driving on.
I enjoyed running this trail too. tight in a lot of areas, but the puddles were fun. I didn't come across anyone heading the other direction, which I was happy cause there isn't much room for one vehicle, let alone trying to pass another. I would like this to be a Jeep BOH trail.
yep it can be a little tight for sure. Great mix of optional mudding and light trail fun. I agree 100% that it would be a great Canidate for a Jeep boh trail. That might cause it to need more maintenance with the added traffic though. If people grouped together for some volunteer maintenance that could help out though. I know I would not mind helping out.
10:22 I just learned why ARB was made awning with aluminum case 11:20 Oh no this is the worst thing that happens to me when I go camping Especially when I pass a place with a lot of thorny trees, sharp as a needle 27:14 Just try You may regret not trying🤣
Bought the awning because it looked cool, but it turns out that there were a few other features that I liked. Durable and it actually goes back in the case easier than the 6.5 ft awning packed in the bag. I had been stuck on those two rocks on a previous trip. 🤣
Stay off those side trails for sure. God that was brutal. Like fingernails on a chalkboard the whole way. Main trail was not too bad, but it tends to get more narrow later in the year as things grow.

Thank you for another AWESOME video!
You are most welcome and thank you for the kind words!
I felt that “aw S$#!” Great video I can’t wait to try it for the first time soon in my Bronco
Ha yeah every time I watch it I relive the mud raining down on me!
Haha what's the odds me watching your video and the people you see camping there was my buddies and I lol. Good video by the way!
Ahh small world! Thanks!

Nice, now you never have to worry about pinstripes ever again!

I’ll be in the area at the end of the month with my Jeep and overland trailer. Not sure if I want the pinstripes like that

My opinion…more engine noise while doing commentary.
Maybe a little background music. Just a little bit tjough
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!
