    First things first: I really think that you are extremly talented! You shoot the pictures I would like to be able to shoot! For me it would be interesting to see you edit your footage since I believe that your editing is also outstanding and contributes a lot to the feel of your pictures... selamlar

    Another excellent, colourful and informative video post Eren. I always look forward to them and take something away every time. A BIG thank you for your time and effort in putting them together. This post has convinced me that with some effort the 56 will add something to what I do. I've been on the fence with the 56 since 2014. My 14, 23 and 35 f1.4's and 50f/2 are my go to primes. It'll be nice to have the 56....finally! I'll let you know how I get on.

    Very useful information as always Eren. I did a Bank, Shoreditch, Barbican route yesterday. More cloudy than forcast so the light was not favourable unlike when I was down a few weeks before. First time at the Barbican which was really interesting with lots of photo opportunities there. Looking forward to trying some night photography in London in the next few weeks.

    • @erenjam
      @erenjam  2 роки тому

      Huge thanks Clive! Awesome, lose that route and yh, with the Barbican I always feel it needs light to get those contrasty shadows, rainy days at Barbican work too.

    Another great explanation to improve, your videos are getting better and better, it's incredible, I have a question, when you edit your photos, what do you think is the camera profile that you use the most to achieve your cinematic aspects? eternal maybe?

    • @erenjam
      @erenjam  2 роки тому +1

      Huge thanks, I use classic chrome mostly but yh, Etherna is a good option too

    Thanks for this video. It motivaties me to go on my own and apply your tips. I’m going to the old centre of Delft, an superannuated small town in Holland with lot of light from bars, restaurants, theaters and so on. Delft is also a City of channels and students. So very cinametic. Hope it will be succesfull.

    The Photos in your video is truly amazing. Very educating video. And inspiring. Do you have any experience of manual lenses like TTartisan 50mm f1.2? I’m considering that one for night time street photography.

    • @erenjam

      Thanks Lars! Yet to test manual lenses but there's a voitlander one I have my eye on

    Great video, as always! About looking for different angle when waiting for the right subject, happened so many times that suddenly super interesting subject is walking and I have to rush back to previous composition as I liked it better, so the photo ends up being slightly worse than it could be 😀 How do you expose neon lights BTW - clip them slightly or not at all? As I always struggle to make them look natural.

    • @erenjam
      @erenjam  2 роки тому

      Huge thanks, haha, I try not clip them at all and then pull the shadows out in post, does depend on the scene though, if there really is no light anywhere else then you have to balance it a little bit otherwise you have to pull details out of really really dark shadows which usually comes up muddy. But yh, spend most my time editing these shots getting the lights where I want them to be

    Excellent video and tips. Do you usually use automatic white balance at night? Also, do you have a preferred film simulation at night? Thanks

    • @erenjam
      @erenjam  2 роки тому

      Thank you! Yh with WB I always leave it on auto when shooting raw. As for simulation I like classic chrome

    What does exposure compensation do? Don`t you spot meter the highlight in the frame and then dialing the exposure so the highlight is in zone 5? so 2.5 to 3 f-stops over 0?

    Thanks for the tips! Do you reckon that f/2 or 2.8 could be enough? I worry that I won’t have enough depth-of-field. My main concern is noise.

    • @erenjam
      @erenjam  Рік тому

      yeah I use the f2 quite a lot and the 16-55 2.8 and night too. Faster the better but you can get away with shooting on 2 and 2.8 at night too

    • @MaartenSFS
      @MaartenSFS Рік тому

      @@erenjam Thanks, mate. I have been using these Fujicrons, but I wonder if I could achieve a much clearer picture with an f/1.4.. It’s always a trade-off, isn’t it?

    Have you tried using the DR400% at night? From what I've seen in Pal2Tech's tests, the DR400% mode is like a dual gain readout to preserve highlights at 160 ISO and capture shadows at 640 ISO. I've only been using it in the day, haven't quite shot at night yet.

    • @erenjam
      @erenjam  2 роки тому

      I've played a bit with the DR settings, I'll have a look into those tests, sounds interesting
