    Thank you for taking the time to film and post this terrific video. Few additional suggestions and highlights for this pain-in-the-a$$ repair. (I just did it on my 2004 Z4 3.0i. Passenger side.)
    a) as he says at 8:20 in the video, while you are in there, replace the front window clip (part 51321938884). They are plastic, they often fail and you don't want to do this job again for a $5.00 plastic sliding piece;
    Other recommendations:
    b) while you are in there, order and replace part 51337114596. It is the plastic slider that the rear of the window sits in. My car is now 17 years old and this plastic piece became brittle and broken, causing the window to rattle. Replacing this plastic slider is easy and less than $10.00.
    c) when you take off the four screws that hold the door panel to the door, note that the screw behind the round plastic piece \in the door handle is different than the other three screws.
    d) lube the rails with white lithium grease after install of the new regulator.
    e) only use a Genuine BMW window regulator. My passenger side lasted 17 years and the driver's side is still the original. You do NOT want to do this repair again because of a cheap regulator.
    Good luck and thanks again for this excellent tutorial!

    What size are the door screws I’ve lost one and need to order a replacement. T-20 or T-25? Do you have a good source? eBay is killing me with their $4 shipping for a bolt.

    Hey, quick question I’m stuck on trying to put the glass back. That T30 screw, did I lose something that it’s supposed to screw onto in the back of the glass that I’m missing? I’m attempting to put it in to screw but there’s nothing to catch it in the back of the bracket? Thanks

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  3 роки тому +1

      Correct, there is a metal bracket that fits behind the glass that the bolt (that goes through the glass) anchors into. Should have been on the replacement regulator.

    How do you determine if it’s the regulator or the motor? My went from slow to barely operational yesterday.

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  3 роки тому +1

      ALmost always the window regulator. Beyond that you'll need to pull the door panel and test it out. Remove the assembly and see if the motor is ok.

    I need help please. I have the new regulator put in but the plastic clip on the far right of the window broke, so now it is just the hole in the window. I have the screw, but I also can't remember if there was a nut for the screw that held the window in the guide..

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  3 роки тому +1

      no nut. The back of the plastic clip has the nut built into it.

    My window has a slightly gap on the drivers side after replacing the regulator and on the highway it makes a lot of noise because of the gap it is towards the door handle . I do not know which screw should i loosen to adjust the gap

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  3 роки тому +1

      You should be able to loosen the clips that hold the glass in place and slightly move the glass up a bit to better align with the top of the door

    Did u disconnect the battery when doing this?

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  3 роки тому +2

      No, not a great idea. Just start the car every 20 minutes or so not to wear down the battery. And DO NOT disconnect the airbag. Just move it out of the way leaving it plugged in.

    C’est dommage de ne pas avoir remplacer la mousse derrière ton panneau de porte
    Maintenant, tu va avoir de l’eau qui coule par derrière ton panneau de porte … elle sert aussi d’étanchéité à l’eau quand tu laves l’auto
    Essaye tu verra 😉
    J’en ai déjà fait l’expérience sur plusieurs voiture

      The thin barrier is a moisture barrier that prevents condensation from coming to the door panel. It is not waterproof and has small openings even when new. IF you have significant water coming into your door your outer seal strip (Belt molding) is missing and needs to be replaced.
      La barrière mince est une barrière contre l'humidité qui empêche la condensation d'atteindre le panneau de porte. Il n'est pas étanche et présente de petites ouvertures même lorsqu'il est neuf. SI vous avez beaucoup d'eau entrant dans votre porte, votre bande d'étanchéité extérieure (moulure de ceinture) est manquante et doit être remplacée.

    The only thing is now your door will leak water into the cabin. this grey membrane on the door acts as a water seal too.

    • @PowerUpAuto
      @PowerUpAuto  2 роки тому +1

      The moisture barrier is to prevent CONDENSATION from coming toward the door panel. Even when new it is not 100% sealed. There are 2 drain holes at the bottom of the actual door that allow moisture to trickle out. If you have a large amount of water coming in to your door the belt molding on the outside of the door needs to be replaced.

      I winced as he tore out the barrier - I definitely got wet footwell because the moisture barrier was lifted from its adhesive towards the bottom.
