John Legend and Common did the song Glory with so much heart. One day when it's all said and done, we will say Glory. Excellent job, John Legend, Common. Beautiful Song
cindy Queen Not all of us are evil. You and people like you do so much more harm than good. Dr. King commented often about the many white people marching with them. Marching for civil rights for black people. I'm a white man, but I actively speak out against the police violence the black community has faced. You have strayed far from King's message. You've perverted his dream into an excuse to express reverse racism. People like you are not his legacy. People that seek peace and justice are his legacy. I'd never dare tell you to get over what happened to your ancestors. I have less than no right to say that because its impossible to forget the evils they faced. But Dr. King has long been my hero, and I quote him very often. I've taken time to read his writings and listen to his speeches. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." -Dr. Martin Luther King. Stop the hate.
I cried.. I don't usually cry but just everything this represents being taught at a young age, my mom told me "you won't understand this but you will face different things your other friends won't, because you are a different person with a different history" I always said we were the same.. But we aren't we are stronger, braver. Than them... I did a presentation on it, and no one could tell me different or that I had "it wrong" because at 15 I have experienced it more than a child should. I'm proud to be black I'm proud of my history
Alicia Marie same here at my young ten year old age it get that life is not always perfect or the way we want it to I’m proud to be a young black girl named Crystlin i need to fight for what’s right and know what’s wrong🙏🏽
Alicia Marie Wow Alicia That is a wonderfully Remarkable way and a dignifiable way you handle that unwanted adversity at a young age and to go through it I know is a feeling that feels as if it has it's own place. You Have the Glory Tho
@AliciaMarie Amen sister Queen. Glory is ours & continues to be eternally. Spiritually we are collectively on another level. What Black People Worldwide had & still continue to experience & STILL Rise above it all is God's Grace & Glory in action. The More they hate us, The More Our Eternal Light Shines Brighter. Even the messengers & prophets like Jesus was hated & crucified. Heavy is the suffering but ultimately Oppressors & their descendants will pay the heaviest cost. It is already written. Its already playing out. Karma is real. Dont expect those who are not Black to ever understand exactly what waking up Black to this day statistically face more danger daily actually looks & feels like. Having that "life or death talk" with their Black child. Having to deal with systems designed to exploit non whites for benefit of Whites to this very day. Still No official Reparations mentally, physically, economically, socially & financially to eliminate the inequality, discrimination & oppression. School curriculums based on upholding white supremacy are already slowly erasing the true history of slavery, minimising the true horrors of what their white ancestors did. Little Convictions of Police Brutality cases. FBI reported law enforcement was infiltrated by KKK & other White nationalist groups. However demographic trends show White births in decline, Non Whites on the rise. The anti immigrant sentiment we are experiencing worldwide is reflection of White fragility. They are afraid. Scared that Black & Brown people are increasing, rising, demanding Justice, Equality & Freedom from oppression & discrimination. Empires rise & fall. Change is INEVITABLE. The systems based on discrimination & oppression run by White folks will come to an end. The tables will turn. It is this they fear. There will be accountability in this world & the next. It is written. In the meantime Be Strong brothers & sisters. Continue to shine with the God given blessings you been given. Walk in your Light.
Despite all that it happening in the world, in our nation, communities and lives, one day “when the GLORY comes…it WILL be ours!” Be encouraged today! ❤
Peace isn't changing the hate, racism, anger, violence, etc. Peace is calmness in yourself..when all of the above can happen around you and the waters from the lake of the soul remain still, during all the earths tremors. You can't fight for peace or debate it, you just become it. To each there own.
This may be one of the best songs ever written. When I saw it performed live on the OSCARS, some audience members weren't the only ones moved to tears. It was and is truly AMAZING!!!
glory is a good influencing song and as a African American I feel that im happy that people who did this and stood up for me and others are just amazing because they took a big risk for lots of other people even myself a 10 year old
Truthfully we all didn't ask to be here, we were all born and suddenly here we are.I have never met a human being i have never loved. We all must get along the almighty made it plenty for all of us.
No matter how many times I hear this song, when Common says "They say, "Stay down", and we stand up," I get a chill because that is the spirit my parents instilled in me and their parents instilled in them. As Muhammad Ali said, the fight is over, not when you fall, but when you refuse to get back up.
what a SENSATIONAL ACT...this should be humanity's anthem...our time is almost up..NOW is the time to happily embrace one another....love is embed in us all. Lets embrace it.
' Don't let what you see make you mean '. Dr. King's fight was not for black supremacy but equality. Equality for all regardless of your race, religion, colour, gender or sexual orientation. For the right to be human.
My father taught us if we dont stand for something you will take anything thrown at you. That was and still is a message that resounds with me today. For people who say just wait change will come...but nothing will come without a fight. Thats why my brothers and sisters we have to keep up the fight for justice for all people.
One of the most amazing songs EVER WRITTEN! I pray it comes soon for all! Too many lives have had to pay such a high price, but most paid it with pride not shame! God bless everyone of them!
I love this with Common and John Legend they perform this with such passion. I watch it often. It always gives me hope. I was in my 20s when the civil rights movement was happening l watched Dr. King speech live. What times they were, sad shocking and brave people who were hosed and dogs attacking. The young people should study hard about what people and sacrifices were back then. There is so much to do still. Pray, pray, pray for wisdom , knowledge, and what your purpose is to help, and speak up when necessary, please yearn for GLORY to come for all of us.
When a song with powerful words touches you deep in your heart and soul you are blessed to finally hear the truth . Every time I hear this song, I remember growing up in a small town in Texas. As a child oblivious to much of what was happening across state borders, our elders kept up sheltered. While I was riding my horse, people were being trampled by them. While we kids went on hay rides, children my age were riding in paddy wagons. I am, and will always be, grateful the sacrifices made by people of various religions, colors, and regions of the country. I owe them.
Today July 4th 2022 This song is more in tune with right now This is what should be broadcasting on all radio and television stations Lord help us to see Glory Praise God
I just heard this song today cuz im binge watching Oscars clips and i can say this is a well deserved win. The lyrics, the vibe, the rhythm, it's sooo intelligent.

beautiful song
One day when the glory comes
It will be ours, it will be ours
Oh one day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
Hands to the Heavens, no man, no weapon
Formed against, yes glory is destined
Every day women and men become legends
Sins that go against our skin become blessings
The movement is a rhythm to us
Freedom is like religion to us
Justice is juxtapositionin' us
Justice for all just ain't specific enough
One son died, his spirit is revisitin' us
Truant livin' livin' in us, resistance is us
That's why Rosa sat on the bus
That's why we walk through Ferguson with our hands up
When it go down we woman and man up
They say, "Stay down", and we stand up
Shots, we on the ground, the camera panned up
King pointed to the mountain top and we ran up
One day when the glory comes
It will be ours, it will be ours
Oh one day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
Now the war is not over, victory isn't won
And we'll fight on to the finish, then when it's all done
We'll cry glory, oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
We'll cry glory, oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
Selma's now for every man, woman and child
Even Jesus got his crown in front of a crowd
They marched with the torch, we gon' run with it now
Never look back, we done gone hundreds of miles
From dark roads he rose, to become a hero
Facin' the league of justice, his power was the people
Enemy is lethal, a king became regal
Saw the face of Jim Crow under a bald eagle
The biggest weapon is to stay peaceful
We sing, our music is the cuts that we bleed through
Somewhere in the dream we had an epiphany
Now we right the wrongs in history
No one can win the war individually
It takes the wisdom of the elders and young people's energy
Welcome to the story we call victory
The comin' of the Lord, my eyes have seen the glory
One day when the glory comes
It will be ours, it will be ours
Oh one day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
Oh glory (Glory, glory)
Hey (Glory, glory)
When the war is won, when it's all said and done
We'll cry glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)

I am, and will always be, grateful the sacrifices made by people of various religions, colors, and regions of the country. I owe them.
Such a heartfelt song
With everything that is going on today, I feel that this song is appropriate for today as well as the 1960's.
