  • Few things I forgot to mention
    You can also find what year and model on the vin tag on the frame. I couldn't because mine was too worn off to read.
    Make sure to tape off any open end wires and especially those AC wires coming from the stator using electrical tape. So they don't short out. And that includes exposed metal on any spade connectors etc.
    Check for cracked ceramic on the spark plug and check for damage to the plug wire.
    And one last EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THING. These are high compression engines. When you go to start it. (500. 550. 600 etc.) Make sure you slowly turn the engine over to the top of the compression stroke before trying to kick. And make sure you're wearing a dirt bike boot that has your leg and foot locked so your ankle can't flex and is protected. THESE BIKES ARE INFAMOUS FOR KICK BACK. Its when the cylinder tries to fire too early and will force back on the kick starter. THEY CAN AND WILL BREAK YOUR ANKLE OR FOOT. I'm not exaggerating... look up videos of it happening.
    And the carb tuning when changing the exhaust is even more of an issue on 2 strokes. But still causes problems on 4 stroke equipment including. 4 wheelers. 3 wheelers. Bikes and Side by sides. Leave the oem exhaust on it. Leave the carb alone. Change the oil every year or every other. And only run ETHANOL FREE gas in them so it doesn't gunk up the fuel system and these things will run forever. TAKE CARE OF YOUR EQUIPMENT. And yourself.
    Thanks for watching. This was more for people doing this for the first time. Because I wish I had these kinds of videos when I was starting out and was scared to hook up a solenoid on a lawnmower in fear of doing it wrong and catching something on fire 🤣
