I wonder if the One Being has anything to do with this. The One Being was always the driver behind Shao Kahn's and Onaga's ambition to merge the realm, but there's a multiverse now, which is even more unfortunate for him.

Shang Tsung and Quan Chi both lie, manipulate and backstab everybody they encounter. Seeing them on the receiving end for once is deliciously satisfying 😂😂😂
The irony that Shang Tsung is so vile, he even betrays himself. Him double crossing Shao Kahn was pure humor, but double crossing himself, did not see that coming. As for Quan Chi, he got what he deserved from Scorpion (Hanzo Hasashi) and I'm pretty sure that in this timeline, he will never learn.
Funnily enough Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are the closest thing one another has to a friend.

The closest ending to Kronika's vision being achieved is Cetrion's Arkade ending

Holy crap, that was the biggest plot twist ever. And I am so glad that Shang Tsung is the main villain instead of Kronika. He's the most personal nemesis for Liu Kang and it makes sense for him to be the final boss.
Plus, Liu Kang never expected this version of Shang Tsung to arrive in this timeline.
The only thing I did'nt like is that they changed the model of the old Shang Sung... Imagine if it was the old model from MK11!

Liu Kang created everything in this new timeline, same as Kronika used to do. He created the Elder Gods, they should report to him if anything. Titans are above Gods.

But surprisingly, by... himself, not Onaga as you would suspect.
Imagine if when Titan Shang Tsung revealed himself he had the same voice and face model as MK11. That would be crazy, and it would be a cool way to bring back Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.

I imagine this is the workaround if they ever bring Kronika back; she can’t be revived in a timeline where she was destroyed, but not every timeline victor killed her (e.g Kano and Kabal) and in some timelines she may well have won. Heck, there may even be one where she sees her own folly and repents.
Maybe she will be brought back in the future games
I agree on this….thousands versions of her may be gone but at least some exist

Cetrion's Hourglass is likely one where Kronika has won, since her arkade ending had her shape reality to Mother's vision.
True, Kronika is still out there in the multiverse somewhere. More than one to be exact. I have a feeling that we may see her again due to Titan Havik causing a multiverse-wide war though.

Shang tsung can betray anyone even himself no one can understand this villain😂😂😂. I was not a huge Shang tsung fan before but his mk1 look is impressive and now he is one of my most favourite character
They should've brought the Shang Tsung model from MK11 it helps connect with the story ALOT better.
He's wearing the same outfit as he did in his MK11 ending. Probably just rejuvenated himself even more.

There were a lot of Deception references in this game: Ashrah, Havik, Hotaru, Onaga, Darius, etc.

The mere fact that the Writers of NRS have been able to link MK11 endings to MK1 story speaks volumes of pure ingenuity.
Mortal Kombat is the game that keeps giving. And man this is just mind-blowing.
This story was the exact opposite of ingenuity. Could have been a fresh new take, but instead, they decided to do clashing of timelines again.

@@RasnakJSnah, the battle of the timelines is just past, present and future fighting. MK1 now expanded to Multiversal fighting now. While yeah it is somewhat lame because the Multiverse genre is so prominent nowadays that it isn't a big deal anymore, this route actually took the franchise to a different level. Instead of the timeline repeating himself which will render Liu Kang useless, they approached a brand new threat for the story which is the infinite possibility of intruders.
This makes it so that Liu Kang will not be a Kronika 2.0 who can never craft a peaceful timeline but rather a humble titan guiding his design and was successful in making the timeline peaceful and the only threat to it are the Titan Intruders who wish to interfere with Liu Kang's Design. In short, it will be for the better because they won't be stuck in another cycle of kombat but rather against the Champions of other Keepers of Time.
The story sucked. Fanboys like you would slurp anything up

@@MegaAmir46 If you have seen Mk Deadly Alliance Opening. Raiden Dialogue is about Balance between Good and Evil( Fg Liu Kang in Mk1 still doesn't Understand and thinks Good should be Dominant meaning Raiden would interfere less and Still have Good vs Evil in his Timeline but Evil isn't Nerfed)

Likely couldn’t get him for this one. Also, Tagawa is getting older. Besides, Alan Lee knocked it put of the fucking park. Sounded enough like Cary to the point where he’s the best voice in the game. I hope Lee stays as Shang going forward.

For as smart as Titan Shang Tsung is, how in the world does he not understand he could easily kill Liu Kang and conquer his world now since he sealed his Titan powers like Liu Kang was literally struggling against the dragon army soldier... I guess he's just arrogant as he is and sent Dark Raiden and Sindel to finish them because he doesn't want to do his own work.
The story would have been so good if they stuck to the 2 timelines reveal instead of doing the multiverse
They must have been running out of ideas to come up with.

And then the only one to defeat Sindel is Mileena in a 1v1 who was getting nerfed by fighting the the Tarkat as well.
And you have dark Raiden who is just there.
And I'm not even gonna talk about how the "Champion" neg diffs everyone in Armageddon just because you play as him.
I mean, it's MK 😅. Atleast the story is decent, better than 11 though. And just enjoy it, it's a game for entertainment, not frustration bro🤣

Actually there IS a timeline where Kronika lives and is still keeper of time (Geras mirror intro, and guess what, most of the intros are all canon. The only one I know for a fact that isn’t is the Liu Kang mirror one referring to Joker)
