- In the South Pacific there are certain names to this recipe (Samoa- Fa'apapa, Tonga- Mā Tonga etc) as well as slight differences to the ingredients. This coconut bread is easy and simple to make, there's really nothing fancy going on just basic ingredients. In Tonga we would usually bake this in the umu but we'll use the oven. You get a real taste of the coconut flavor and if you enjoy a cup of coffee, this recipe makes a splendid treat to dip/sip with your coffee/tea. Hope you all enjoy! Mālō
Ingredients
2 cups flour (regular white flour)
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup coconut flakes
1/4 cup sugar (optional)
1 1/4 cup coconut milk
Note:
If dough is too sticky add a tablespoon of flour, if it is too dry add a tablespoon of coconut milk/water

What is the temperature? Bake how long ?
Flour- bread flour or self rises or AP flour?

The video answers all questions. Temp is 190 degree Celsius, 30-40mins till golden brown and flour is regular white flour.
