Nice to see Tim Yelverton get a mention again. As a recovering short game failure, I bought Dave Pelz book, James Sieckman's book, BBG's scoring system and Dan Grieve's book in that order. Each one gives pretty much the same message but in a slightly different way. There is lots in each one that I skipped over or didn't understand until I got the others.

I personally love the short game. I think it's the most fun part of the game because it doesn't require a 120 mph clubhead speed, or some other attribute that the tour pros have that make them elite. However, I think the single biggest barrier to the average Joe having a tour level short game is clutter. The constant barrage of information that is way beyond in depth to what you should or shouldn't do. Just simplify it down to see ball hit ball. A little practice goes a long way. Work on your pivot and you have the short game licked at that point. Clutter like Phil's hinge and hold non-sense is just a waste. Copy the technique of Steve Stricker or Jason Day, 2 players that have been top 10 on tour getting up and down for forever. They keep it very simple and it works. Slight variations to setup to produce different trajectories and spin. At the end of the day it's all in the pivot.

Love your channel, I watched almost every video… the best channel for learning golf. !!!!
This is my opinion only… the camara angle down the feets and moving, and diagonal .. get off my focus from the content every time. Sory the critic,….. your channel still the best

The BEST Lesson from the World’s Greatest Short Game Coach? Who determined he's the Greatest? Are you minimizing Dan Grieve, Stan Utley, James Sieckman? Stop click baiting. Whoa! Did you just change the title? Much better description!

Using the bounce is the single fastest way to improve your short game. You should not be trying to hit ball first on partial wedge shots. You should be engaging the turf prior to striking the ball on purpose with the same intention as a bunker shot. No green side bunker shot is hit ball first no matter how firm the sand is even if you are using the leading edge and that also applies to partial wedge shots.
