I was against Yeonjung doing high notes since she was on PD101. Every high note she did was strained, and that is normal, because _even Taeyeon would strain those notes_. Because of her high note against Chanmi she got known for that, but now there's no escape. Eventually it would happen, but they could at least say for her to use more falsetto.

This is a late reply but I think a lot companies and even music shows allows groups and artists to lip sync to a pre recorded track so that they can preserve their voices so that it will not get damaged in the long run and since most groups contracts lasts around 7 years if not more if they decide to resign then it makes sense to preserve their voices than to hurt them in the process
