Mat, I haven’t heard of you until now, and I got to say keep doing what you’re doing. I can’t leave my car alone when I get it. It’s cool making it personal and my own.
Modding is essentially a way to prolong the love of your car. Everyone drives a new car with such pride and distinction, which fades over time as you age with the car, and see others around just like it. After a mod of any kind, big or small, engine bay or phone holder, you drive it the next day feeling like you've made it unique again. That, for me, is what it's all about.
Love how this was shot. Really keeps your attention going back and forth between interview and car scoring. Definitely want to see some more like this!
23:50 - "Break out a spanner...see what falls off..." - this was just the type of encouragement that I needed to get started on taking care of my own car, it's such a great feeling when you can manage a bit of your own auto maintenance!
Hey guys. Really like the new video format and Mat does some crazy stuff and just shows that even if you think something is beyond repair, with enough time and effort you can get them up and running again!
The fact that it was a manual Laguna Seca made it so much cooler! the SMG gearbox is known to have issues and let's be honest who wouldn't want a manual in one of the best M cars BMW has ever made
@@thenasman6957 I can’t tell you for sure if it’s a better driving experience because I’ve heard both sides with people loving each, the aftermarket shifter I’ve used feels amazing though 👌
Mat's the OG resurrection specialist!... and he's humble, clever, passionate, entertaining, and for real, a true genius. And I like the rapport with Richard after seeing them both talking about the lizard green metallic Murci.👍🖖✌️
I like the New format. And Matt perfect first guest positive humble talented not afraid to show his mistakes. Also willing to stand by his convictions and do what he wants to his cars 👍
Great content so pleased to see Matt there he’s an icon in his own right he’s opened up an unseen world to car re construction and repair he’s a top bloke 👏🏻as is Richard the Hammond
Great video. This whole "the car's had a tough life" thing is a double edged sword. Sure it's been worked hard but it's also been looked after. Regular oil changes, brake pads etc. etc.
That Mazarati looked like a tesla before he put his hands on it. Always thought that a Mazarati would be the last car if buy for that kind of money. He made it look angry and sporty. Not normally a fan of mods but in my opinion he made that car 10x better.
Mat, you got it spot on. A car is individual freedom and a personal expression. You have to have that and feel it to appreciate having and driving your car...
I am so much agree with Mat. If you have an old car, you really like.... but you know you enjoy it much more with a (modernizing) modification, I do it!
Totally agree with Mat, why drive the same car as your neighbour ? My first car (1980's Celica ST) needed welding and body repairs as well as an engine rebuild. I swapped the pop forward lights to the later pop up lights. Improved air flow into the engine as well as carburetor mod. Badges were also painted. Modified radios and added reverse cameras. Latest mods are adding factory look reverse camera and switching hidden functions / displayed values on my Audi after Audi told me they couldn't or wouldn't do it. Keep going Mat.
This is the first video of yours I've watched, 🤦🏻♂️and I absolutely loved it! I already sub to Matt Armstrong, big fan of Richard Hammond and now of you and this channel. Great job, seriously 👍🏻👊🏻
Keep this format rolling because it's brilliant. Didn't get bored or want to stop watching at any point. Quick sidenote: please, don't go all supercars/hypercar with this. Great cars such as this E46 M3 or a CSL you mentioned would be fantastic, perhaps a unique Impreza or something. Cars which are young classics, future classics, unique cars, etc. would be fantastic. Don't want to see another programme which features a range of modern McLarens, Lamborghinis and so on. Too many of those already.
Love this idea of scores and such, this could give Richards business the nice little boost he's looking for. Need to get more youtuber cars on the show.
Love this format but also the fact that Richard Hammond is involved; kudos to him as well. And genius to kick it off with one of BMWs alltime greats. E46 in any body style is still my personal favourite from that maker.
Great video! Love it I would come up with a catchy and to the point title for this format though. Was alot to read and almost didn't click. Glad I did. Can't wait to see the next one.
I drove a ‘02 330ci (vert) pre facelift, and now I have a ‘05 330ci coupe zhp 6spd facelift. I never even dared to look at the facelift cause I loved the pre, but man the side trim, the fender signal diamond, it’s really nice looking. Basically turnin the headlights up.
I don't think the M ever used the facelift looks. During the facelift era there was only a few little changes mechanically I believe, like the rod bearings.

What a collab for you
Great video, I remember you starting out … I’m glad it worked out for you in such a short space of time I like the style
Great car man I've always loved the E46 ever since i played NFS MW 2005

Proud of you brother 💪🏽
Fair play to Hammond for raising the profile of the lad brave enough to do what he loves
Also to all the other lads at the smallest cog 🤝
This is a great addition to the channel! Great job.
The Drivetribe office needs some sound dampening, but otherwise, pretty fantastic!
They should have hoonigan bring their rolls Royce over.
Yeah just need some better audio in Hammonds office, which should be easy enough to do so it's not a big deal.
