Robert Franklin - Pen Turning & Finishing

Robert Franklin demonstrates his techniques for turning and finishing pens to the Rocky Mountain Woodturners on April 18, 2019. He discusses blanks, preparation, mandrels and finishing techniques. He includes cast, stabilized and raw wood blanks in his discussion and how he differs his process for each. He shows his CA finishing technique and when he chooses to just polish a pen. Merits of both oil and water sanding are pointed out.
