Laura, the jam jar was made by McNicol China in Clarksburg, WV! My grandparents both made their living at the factory. D.E. McNicol came from East Liverpool and started the factory in 1928 thru 1969! People paint the plain jam jars! Excited to see it pop up on your video!
Hour glass, Time in a Bottle. My husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary in February. Time in a Bottle was our song and we bought on hour glass the first year on our first little vacation. The hour glass still sits in our bedroom. ❤
To clean your basket, make a mixture of OxiClean and slightly warmed water in your sink enough to submerge your basket. Make sure it is submerged for about three or four minutes and then using a washcloth or very soft brush rub with the grain of the basket material. Swish basket up and down a few times then rinse it with sink or shower sprayer. I’ve been able to get out just about every stain I have had in baskets. If the stain remains, I will sometimes use a colored wax and short bristle paint brush and work it in and wipe away excess to blend away stain. 😁 The time and talent it takes for someone to hand weave a basket is worth recognizing and saving. I may not be able to fix a broken basket, but I’ve never met a stained one that I haven’t been able to save😂
Your glass trio is beautiful - the wear on the gold just shows it was loved. As a collector if that glass isn't chipped but it shows the wear on the gold then someone took very good care of it but also used it a lot. i can't imagine someone that could appreciates it's beauty would not also appreciate the history.
I have that same exact set without gold trim, plus a covered candy dish and recently added a small pitcher. Jennetta Glass was my research find. The original set was my grandmothers'...I'm 77 so this set has been around a long time!
Just want you to know that I’m moving back to Colorado from California…spent last 5 years collecting Oregon myrtlewood up Oregon wash coast…because of you! I was selling it on Poshmark but now my new house 2xs square ft and mid mod. I’m keeping the rest of the myrtlewood for myself!!! I’ll be looking at you and Justina Blakeny for my fab style guides. Thanks for the great Chanel. Love it. Also, I lived in Naples and Roma for 4 years total and frequented the vintage markets you’ve shown with my college friends. Also, I happen to be 1/2 Syrian and live in Temecula wine country 45 min from the riverside shop that had the Syrian collectibles that you wanted. I wasnt able to get for you though. Also, my parents have lived 1-6 months on ischia( sister island of Capri ) for 26 years! You’re my soul sister and didn’t even know it. Maybe I’ll go on one of your fab trips. I’ve never been to Finland Sweden or Norway!
Laura at time stamp 20:12 when you started talking about the gold/glass creamer/sugar set and asked how we would feel if we were buying it - I would be excited to get something as beautiful as that set - still intact and not broken or chipped. The gold rubbed off where the set gets handled is just normal wear especially for something that old. Maybe some collectors wouldn't want it because they didn't think it was pristine enough, but I think it's gorgeous and shows how much it was loved and used!! ♥
What a spectacular haul at that first Goodwill! I am loving this series, and I’m going to be so sad when it ends. Thanks to Jesse for the idea, and to you both for the execution.
Laura, you must pick the highest producing Goodwills out of your thrifting of all the GW outlets and put them on a regular picking adventure. Lightning has proven to strike twice, or more, in the same place! 😂🤣😂
It seems as if the plate with the lid is also a plate for a bowl-that bowl, to be precise. So the bowl can be a lid and the lid a bowl. Anyway, very pretty.
Great finds! With the two bird plaques I would add a discrete block of wood to the back of one bird so it sits proud of the wall, then slightly overlap the two on a gallery wall set up - so it looks like they are flying along together 😊
She mentioned in another comment: They are from amazon but they have a very strong smell and had lots of damage to the ripples and she WOULDN'T recommend buying them.
For the basket...make a paste of lemon juice and baking soda. Apply liberally on stain. Let it sit for about an hour. Scrub lightly with a brush. Good luck.
I think aged is the perfect way to describe that 3 piece Crystal set 🥰👍🏽 it's GORGEOUS 💕 I love everything you bought ❤ great finds, & another awesome video 😉👍🏽
Hey Laura. I love your style and videos so much. I grew up in the 70s. My Mom and Dad made a stunning living room table that made with a large round mirror with a large wooden edge. We always had a round glass vase of huge flowers like gladiolus that reflected double image in the mirror.
Thank you so much for using my Etsy shop for your comp on that cute glass lion! I recognized the red wall behind it immediately! I love your channel and UA-camrs like you have inspired me to start my own channel which just hit 1000 subscribers this month! Thank you!
Hi Laura! I live in England, UK. We would say the Grindon studio pottery is "from England" (UK), not "out of England." Also, Staffordshire has two fs. 'Staffs' for short. I love your style and all the great pieces you find. Brilliant! ❤
The vintage glass set is perfectly aged with totally acceptable character and style. I’m a retired decorator painter and ironically I was made to recreate aged patinas a cracked chippy finishes. I guess when I see something that is aged organically- I can really appreciate it for what it is. This has been a really fun series. Thanks Jesse!😂 I loved how you had it in your head and you certainly went with it!haha!
I found 12 vintage napkin ring holders for free, handmade in Spain from olive trees. Gave them a good oil treatment!! 😍 Felt so lucky!! All the small things in life!🙏
I don’t want this series to end. And like so many others have said in the comments, I get sooo excited when there’s a new video to watch - ESPECIALLY this series. Anything I THOUGHT I was going to be doing is dropped in favor of watching your videos. ❤
I almost screamed when you left that piece of pottery..but then you went back and got it! Loved the colors and some of my favorite pieces are a little amateurish. Oh and candle in the front with the bear candle holder..lol.
Hi Laura! I’m pretty sure you picked up an Okinawan Shisa. They usually come in pairs with one having an open mouth and the other closed. There are many potters in Okinawa. Handmade pottery is very alive and part of the culture here. Hopefully you’ll come here someday. I think you would love it. 😊
Okinawa is on our goal list for 2026! We want to spend more time in Japan. We loved our spring trip there so much and want to explore more cities 😄 I’d love to visit a pottery class or tour to see how it’s made. Thank you for sharing this!
on the wicker plate basket that stained on the bottom, you could water down a brown paint that matches that or a different color water it down and paint it so it doesn’t look like it’s painted. And the bottom as well.
I've had great luck even with stains on baskets by using Folex. Spray it and walk away for 5-10 minutes - the stuff is like magic. If it lightens but doesn't come out spay it with water and then spray the Folex again. Most stains- even red stains have come out for me. Good luck and blessings!
Family is from Marche Italy and I went to Sorrento in 1995 and then went again in 2019! Magical small little city with a wonderful Factory that makes you found a good one!!
I am a new super fan and have binge watched you for weeks now lol I’ve always wanted a vintage shop/cat cafe and watching you do what you do ( which happens to be what I love doing ) i decided to finally take the first step and set up a booth at the local markets and I’m beyond excited! Thank you for the inspiration and feel good videos :)
I just bought two clear glass perfume bottles with stoppers and they have gold trim that looks a little worn. To me, that just adds to their vintage charm.
I think the bear candleholder could be used two ways: either with a taper in front, or with a votive candle on the flat base in back, shining through the bear.🐻
Maybe put fresh lemon juice on the stain and a little salt and put it in the sunlight repeat the process it should get the stain out. I am from South Africa and that usually helps stains.
Please pull up the plastic ‘leg access’ plate in the baby part of your cart. When you put treasures in that part I’m always worried you might get bumped and something might fall out! Love your shopping hauls and the wonderful way you style things. Thanks for all the knowledge you share!
The candles you put in the Swiss candelabra are incredible. I recently bought 3 different ones of those. The look so great with those flickery fake candles in my fireplaces in the summer.
The stain on the wicker wall art, try a bit of diluted lemon juice, and carefully put on a small part of the stain. Place in the sun, and watch closely. Wash with soapy water to get the lemon out. Hope it works!!
Fantastic huge haul! Lots of great pottery today. Love the vase with the flower medallion. Just gorgeous! Congrats on finding that amazing hourglass. You have such great taste. Also the brass vase is stunning. ❤❤
What a great lot of things you found. I’d have picked up all of them too. Even the chipped glass lion. Keep him until you find a perfect replacement. He still deserves some love. The cream and sugar set can have new gilt applied. The design deems it worthwhile, however it’s still lovely with the wear.
You find beautiful studio pottery AND stunning wood pieces at your Goodwill. You can't even imagine the cr@p that is at my local Goodwill and the prices are appalling. I NEVER find anything like what you find. Good for you!!
Thanks for another AMAZING fun & funky video! As far as selling items with flaws, I have succeeded in using words like 'character' or 'patina' or 'history' to try and sell the piece's story. If only our pieces could talk! I'm sure they've seen it all. Keep up the positive energy & spunk. I have learned so much from you - it's truly invaluable!!! Thanks again!
I would use the candle behind the bear. It looks like a tree and bears living in forest. Maybe you can put more candles behind so it look like multiple trees.
flip the lid on your cute covered plate, I believe the foot will fit perfectly on the plate, it least it seems from my vantage point. Bear, candle in the back. Your very chipped lion would be absolutely fabulous holding 'something' on one of your large charcuterie boards!!!
Hi Laura, Im an art student on the East Coast. If you ever could, maybe could take a studio pottery class? I know your life is crazy busy with your channel and your store, ..... As much as you love pottery, I hope one day you may have someone who would treat you to a pottery class. My favorite part of ceramics class is the glazes and all the experimenting with colors.
The "foo" dog is actually one of a pair of Okinawan shishi. Probably made in Yomitan or Naha. The shishi with the mouth open goes on the left, and the other one has a closed mouth and goes on the right as you face them.
To me the stains on the basket give it character and show it was well loved. The two toned wooden box would make a great bread box on your kitchen! You always find the greatest pottery! The small blue and white vase looks fabulous staged against your blue and white wallpaper.
You don’t know how much I look forward to Friday so that I can see the next installment in this series! I love it so much!
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching and thrifting along with me 😄
I feel the same😊 way
Same
Same. I get excited.

The glass set with gold is perfect. I think most buyers realize that gold will be somewhat worn on vintage/antique glass or ceramics.
Loving this series….I don’t want it to end! Especially enjoy seeing how you stage your finds…you do it so well! Thanks Laura and Jessi!
Don’t worry this series will be a channel staple for years to come! We’re having so much fun filming it!

Oh, those candles you staged in the Swiss metal vase, wonderful!
Agree!!
I love them too. i found them on Amazon, MTLEE soy wax candles.
Hour glass, Time in a Bottle. My husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary in February. Time in a Bottle was our song and we bought on hour glass the first year on our first little vacation. The hour glass still sits in our bedroom. ❤
So romantic! ⌛️
Time in a Bottle was played at the end of our wedding! It’s such a tender, loving song, and with such a sad story behind it.
Love that song and hourglasses..and these vids
Jim Croce gone too soon...
I love Jim Croce & your story!
I am loving those ribbed candles, especially the ones you used with the Swiss candle holder.
Yes!! I was thinking that, too where did you get those very unique candles?!
Agree, stunning!!!

I’m a wabi-sabi kind of ‘girl’ - 74 and not in perfect condition anymore, but still lovable. So it’s a definite yes on the glass & gold set.

Good call. There are taper candles shaped like trees that would be perfect for this bear candle holder.

The wood organizer is a bread box ! I sitll use the one mom used!

For some reason, the two-tone roll-top wood box makes me think it was to store floppy discs back in the day.😁
If the lemon soda paste doesn’t work (good tip) try “Goo-Gone” it’s a mechanic’s hand cleaner but will gently clean anything!
