Fun fact: The bomber he's talking about in Lake Mead is real. A B-29 Superfortress crashed into Lake Mead on July 21, 1948, 75 years ago tomorrow (at the time of writing this). It's still there today.
Fun Fact: The Bomber at the bottom of Lake Meade in Fallout New Vegas also exists in the real world. They used to have submarine tours to the bottom of the lake something like 10 years ago that allowed people to see it.
The Pyramids were not built by Slaves "According to noted archeologists Mark Lehner and Zahi Hawass, the pyramids were not built by slaves; Hawass's archeological discoveries in the 1990s in Cairo show the workers were paid laborers, rather than slaves. Rather, it was farmers who built the pyramids during flooding, when they could not work their lands."
@@runelt99 they were paid with bread and beer, had lodging near the worksite and if they died during construction they got their own tomb nearby. A pretty sweet deal for the ancient world
Fun lore for today: boomers and the vault ard spot on, no notes. Asher's "cure" in the PITT is actually his baby. Born in the PITT seemingly immune to the troglodyte degeneration syndrome. A big part of that DLC is choosing what happens to that baby. And if you're the kind of person sick enough to think of it, if you have the cannibal perk and a certain fanmade mod installed, you can eat the baby Up next: fallout's take on swampfolk family relations
i remember that first time through the Pitt. I got there, was ready to steal the cure...and to find out it's a hope for a cure from a baby's immune system, and worse still, I'd be ripping that baby from her parents? Nope, walked up to the guy who sent me in, and tore out his spine with an auto axe.
Interestingly, the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt were built by Egyptian citizens. Largely farmers, who could work on the current Pyramid being built as an alternative to method of tax payment, instead of a portion of their crops for that year. They would do this during the months which the Nile River flooded the farmlands, re-enriching them. Entire living complexes have been located, along with communal eating areas. There are even records of a basic form of life insurance, in case of grievous injury or death. Thrilled that you're enjoying The Storyteller!
The pyramids weren't all built by slaves a lot of the people making the pyramids were artisans and craftsmen who the pharoah hired all around Egypt to construct them. It was a great honour to help build a pyramid
Due to story of Moses and the Exodus, many considered the Pharaos of Egypt to be pretty ruthless. And while it is fact that the pyramids were built by paid artians, farmers and craftsmen devoted to the Pharao, it is not impossible to imagine that some slaves were forced to help building them as well.
The irony being the Institute could rather easily rebuild Pitt, but no one, esp not disciples of Asher, are going to let dirty synths do anything. Man is convinced his son will single-handedly carve out the future.
He's not kidding about the Boomers firing at anyone approaching Nelis Airforce Base. If the player gets close enough, they'll shell you relentlessly until you either die or get close enough to the base that they risk hitting their own people. And yes, the gate guard will hold you up at missile launcher-point despite the fact that he'd also die if he fired on you. Nelis also has VR pods like the ones at the beginning of the video, used to train pre-war pilots. The Boomers use them to learn how to fly for the day when they retrieve and repair the bomber at the bottom of Lake Mead. Sadly, the player can't use them. Ashur genuinely believes he's doing good in the world and promises to free all of his slaves ("workers" he calls them, to give them hope they will be free one day) once his work is finished. I believe him...but he also rules over an army of raiders who will likely not be pleased if their source of entertainment and ease of living is set free. Ashur has a vision, but I get the sense his followers will betray him before he can see it through. Hence, I always side with the slaves and free them. Ashur's empire is doomed anyway.
I love this series, in my very flawed opinion the Fallout lore is one of the most relaitable and expansive universes i know, everything is usually so f*up in a very human and most of the time pre-war sort of way. The Metro series in comparison show the lifestyle of the survivor moving forward not having to worry about dealng with ongoing mistakes done by those before them...yet in Fallout all the mistakes and f*up reasons from the prewar megacorporations, military and goverment are always there showing us a grand ol' time :D
Also The Pitt aka Pittsburgh Pennsylvania is at the earliest is actually in Fallout 76 as one of the Expedition which yes the Togs are also in the Pitt
we have something similar to the suit they are talking about at the end, i think it's called a haptic suit and people will sometimes use them in a game called VR Chat
Pyramids where not build by slaves lots of archaeological data disproved that. its a common misconception i was thought that at school and by the church/bible but turns out we dug up a lot more since then and its not even close. lots of workers who build the pyramids where actually well taken care of whit housing food/drinks entertainment even though it was a hard job.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames No problem i cant really blame you we find out new things so fast we cant keep up on it all. i enjoy your content a lot you two give me a fresh perspective on fallout for sure.
not too big a fan of Fallout 3, but its DLC stuff (The Pitt, and the one coming up next) are legit great! even the ones with the aliens and the VR simulation are... uhm... alright, I guess
Ken, you're working with outdated info on the Pyramids. Archeologists Mark Lehner and Zahi Hawass found in the 90's that the Pyramids were built with paid labourers. Wether you want to count them as wage slaves however is a different issue, but who isn't outside of the affluent anyway?
Yep the Lady of deep is actually a real thing a B-29 crashed in Lake Mead in 1948 even tho other people said it in the comments but as well Nellis Airforce Base is actually a real place outside Las Vegas Nevada which a good chunk of the places in the fallout universe is real
I know that you guys probably have a lot of games going on and Fallout New Vegas/Fallout 3 definitely aren’t the most popular games to play for views nowadays but if you guys ever want to have a genuinely amazing time just roleplaying through a game then I think all your viewers would adore seeing you play either 3 or New Vegas. The level of roleplay you could do in these games is nuts and I think not only are these games your guys speed gameplay wise but also you guys would have an absolute blast doing something like a joint character where the two of you have an idea of who you guys see the character as and make decisions throughout the game based on that. Make it a little game of character building not just stats wise but like a full DnD story or something idk. Anyway, love these videos and hope you guys are having a great day! 😄
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Mechanically I’d say that New Vegas and Four are the best for sure but in terms of story, roleplaying capability, characters and overall content Fallout 3 and New Vegas I think are easily the best whereas Four suffers from modern day streamlining. Fallout 3 is just so unapologetically fallout. There’s nothing quite like sneaking through the post nuclear ruins of the nation’s capital 😂
I have played the game like 3 times yet it took me watching Hbomberguy's video to realise that a group of xenophobic old people who want to have the glory of the good old days are called... Boomers.. Like I legit thought 'huh people who make stuff go boom? yeah boomers' the social commentary completing sliding through my smooth brain.
Hey would you guys be interested in playing the Metro series? I think you guys already watched trailers on it, I think you guys would really like it, also I highly recommend it, great storytelling and gameplay.
Do you think you could play FFXVI? it would be amazing to have you two experiencing the story! Since there's a lot of ways to make the game more approachable and it's such a spectacle it would be great to see what you think.

A number of them are real or based on some place real. I mean the Fallout games are based here on Earth, not some fictional universe. Fallout 3 was set in Washington D.C. I love Fallout because it represents humanity accurately the good the bad and the ugly.
I love that they have full animated scenes now instead of the picture shown in the first season. It feels like more production went into this!
It gets wilder as more episodes go on, I remember I used to wait for a new storyteller episode and everytime it blew my mind
For sure. The new format is great other than the intro. We loved season 1 intro ☺️
So as you can see Pittsburgh hasn't changed that much in Fallout Universe.
