@@Dubyaa98 The Tomcat external sound model has been flawed ever since EA release, particularly with fly-bys (jet would be silent for a moment when switching views, then sound would abruptly cut in). No mod could fix it. This video seems to show a corrected effect. The actual sound source files are easy enough to replace with whatever sounds you want once the back end code is working properly.

You have to fight smart with the plane and really learn how to handle the very mechanical stick and rudder. You can depart the plane very easily at high AoA. Yes, with phenomenal thrust to weight and incredible kinematics due to high lift/drag ratio make it a formidable fighter. That is reality.
What a change. I've never paid much attention to the Tomcat's exterior sounds since I spend 100% of my DCS time INSIDE the F-14, but I was still wowed by the improvement. I can hardly wait to hear their final pass on the TF30s.

late 90s, i was at an airshow, pretty sure El Toro. end of the day, the sun is setting and my brother and I are walking off the flight line toward our car. I hear a roar from the general direction of the runway and I know some hotdog is about to take off back to his unit as the show is over. i try to catch a glimpse between the hangars, and for a split second i see, unmistakable, a Tomcat in full afterburner, rolled 90 degrees just after takeoff so that i could see his top down silhouette washed gold by the sunset. i grinned the biggest shit eating grin that ever ate shit. as long as there are fighter planes, may there always be hotdog fighter jocks who love their job way too much XD

I have a good sound system for when I watch movies or concerts. I had the windows rattling on the neighbors house because I cranked up the volume. He worked with the F-14 and absolutely loved the sounds after stopping by to figure out what I was watching.

I just bought this and flew it tonight for the first time, I literally have never had an eargasm this good before😂I kept putting it in and taking it out *giggity* if afterburner just to hear the punch😂😂😂
It’s crazy you can come back to the video 9 months later and it’s still the best sounding module in DCS and I imagine that would hold true until HB decide to one up themselves! No other module comes close to capturing the feel and sounds like the kitty
I used to be an F16 fun,since late 80s-early 90s when some decent f16 sims appeared.But since the F14 came in my life in DCS,it became my life beloved jet!

Wish Heatblur could program a way to better talk with jester. Specially with Lantirn. One way could be we could point with our mouse cursor (as pilots) the target we want to lock. As we where talking with Jester: "do you see the house in the left? lock that one!" "lock the contact most to the left" BUT all pointing with our mouse cursor in the TID repeater

Would like more if they would implement a way to comunicate with Jester with voice as Vaicom does but not dependent on 3rd party to update it, and more integrated. @@NyteStalker89 actually, HB's damage model is already leaps and bounds above ED's damage model, so nothing on ED here. But also really what's so bad about HB's damage model? They're pretty much leading the way.
1 missile disable the plane 90% of the time, it can still fly sometimes but lost several vital systems to still be a threat on combat, and even if it still flies if you have hydraulic leak your flight surfaces stop working after you run out of hydraulic pressure.
@@HRPkatsu i meant how the damage modules for this module are rather large and not as detailed as, let's say the a10, which i get is the most worked on module on the the game, but given how much has been put into the f14 i'd expect it for nose damage to not break up the entire thing, i think there is even a spot where the hitbox is larger than the plane for gun rounds

Gee I wonder why the F-14 seems fragile to you. It's already the sturdiest plane in the game due to its advanced damage model btw, I've landed one back after 2 missile hits and it was still flyable. Granted they were smaller missiles, but still missiles.

From what I can tell, it's more noticeable on the A, but is very prominent on the B aswell, as shown in the video.

Be sure that idle sound is fixed, where it gets louder the farther away you are. Other than that, sounds awesome!
