Humorously, hearing the old Grimes rotating beacon whirring was a good reminder to walk back to the plane and turn off the master. Not that I've left the batt on recently, and have LED beacons, or anything...
The Birddog has the coffee grinder beacon. I remember once many years ago sitting in a restaurant above the terminal in Montgomery Field, San Diego and looking out to see the beacon on. I ran fast… But that said, modern LED nav lights left on all the time have the same benefits but less draw.
What do you think of adding a mirrored pair of landing/taxi lights to the other wing of the 182M? A friend is convincing me to buy half or all of a 1969 at KAVQ in a couple months.
I’ve thought long and hard about doing exactly that. It’s on my list of projects, but very far down the list of priorities though. I think it would be an amazing upgrade.

What kind of beacon light do you have? You use the original cessna flasher unit with it?
Whelen LED beacon, no external driver or flasher unit.
